As always another masterpiece tutorial about the case study, now I have all my answer in one video, thanks a lot for sharing such an informative tutorial with us.
I'm a Graphic Designer having experience of 1 year and I'm good in Photoshop and Illustrator. But now I want to switch to UI/UX. So please can you make a video on the process and what softwares should I learn to become a UI/UX designer? How should I begin as a beginner? I'm not familiar with motion design or After Effects.
Hey Navman.. As mentioned in this video, UX Design has two broad parts and hands-on is only one of them. The other, i.e. the analytical side is not just a skill but its a way of life. I will not recommend a tool-first approach for UX Design ever, because unlike Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, the tools that are used for UI design (Figma, Sketch, XD) are very simple and intuitive and you can learn them in no time; within a few hours maybe. Think of them like MS Word or Powerpoint. You do not really need to learn anything to use these tools. You open them and you know what to do. For process, I had made a dedicated video. I suggest you check that out. ruclips.net/video/ljkwQYn2KBA/видео.html
Hi Sapta, This was perfect in just 10 min video. Always love the way you speak :) Can you give your opinion on one more thing. During interviews for Product designer position, companies give assignment. So what is the best way to show that assignment to the interviewer. Should i share just figma file, or as a pdf/zip attachment or should i upload it on behance and share the behance link?
For assignments, you can use a PPT, PDF or anything. Reason being when a company asks you to work on a particular problem, they will also mostly give you an opportunity to walk them through the solution over a meeting etc.
Hey sapta, love the way how you keep your videos short and at the same time explain whats needed. One quick doubt, for a case study, is there any difference on the emphasis of the project if we choose to redesign an existing app versus choosing a problem and coming up with a solution to it?
Thank you, Vinamra :) You see, the UX of my videos should be good as well. I try to optimise them as much as possible. I don't think there should be any difference as long as you identify a real underlying problem in an existing app. You redesign something only when you find a problem there.
@@saptarshipr I totally agree. The only mental block I am facing right now regarding the case study is, if I find a problem and try to come up with a solution for it, most of the times there are apps already providing a solution to the problem, (only know about them after starting the research) but then after analysing them I see that they have usability issues.
