The bersa thunder 380 is my edc. It's now 8+1 out of the box. Accurate, reliable and conceals comfortably. Ergonomics enables me to point and shoot and the sights are always lined up.
Thank you sir. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wish I could get more time at my parents farm to capture more exciting shooting footage but I live in Hawaii. For now I'm kind of locked in with old footage, regimented public range footage, and table top reviews. This summer I've got high hopes of capturing a lot more interesting activities while on vacation. Hopefully I can present them in a pleasing manner.
Stop back and tell us how it went. I've been farting around with an AR-15 and a 410 Snake Charmer on my last two range visits, but for target shooting the added challenge of pistols is my go to. The Bersa is coming with me on my next range trip for sure.
Here in Argentina there is an original Bersa extended mag for this cc model. It holds 9 rounds and it has kinda a rounded base plate. Anyway, you get a better grip and a total capacity of 10 rounds. Cheers!
I actually have a couple of those. They function in the 380cc but the base plate doesn’t match up with the butt of the gun so you get a weird grip and tend to get blood blisters on your palm if you’re not careful when you reload. Thanks for checking out the video!
@@NorthwoodsRenaissance That's right, that rounded baseplate doesn't fit the design of the grip. Anyway, my idea is getting both, the gun and one of this for my EDC . It is a shame, but life is getting really dangerous down here. Can you believe that the government freed near 4.000 criminals and rapists to avoid covid in prisions ? Unbelievable!!!
@@herberar My capacity for believing in the ability of the government to over react has greatly increased over the last year. We're lucky we live in places that recognize our right to defend ourselves and our families.
Fireballs were impressive. Reminds me of Archer. Jimmy Tom Jr was strutting with his prey. He did his job well. Slow motion video shooting took my breath away. Made my eyes open wide! Some fun. I’m darned pleased with my Bersa Thunder CC. Thanks a heap - Mom
I have the regular thunder in duotone and have the cc one on layaway will have it within the week Love these guns very reliable and accurate. Take it easy.
It's a really usefull review. Usually a mindset for a 380 vs a 9mm should be really smaller than 9. But here you have almost the same size, less capacity and less power. I think is an ergonomic and style of weapon decision than "papers". Because: same size, less power, and less capacity... but thinner and less recoil.
Which is great news because those 2 Promags that I bought were way out of spec to drop free from the mag well and misbehave with even the slightest limp writing. The Thunder 380 9 round magazines are compatible as well but the mag extension juts our past the rear of the pistol grip. Bersa factory mags have all been good to go.
@@Grumpyin I have the 8 round pinky extension magazines and and the 9 round deluxe magazines and both have worked fine in the Thunder 380 cc. I've long since tossed the packaging which indicated compatibility but I recall being skeptical when I bought the 8 rounders and was relieved when they worked. The 7 round pinky extention Promags that I purchased for my mothers gun have failures to feed when limp wristing and I'd suggest avoiding them. Hope that helps!
Thank you for the kind words Brian. I don’t remember if I mentioned it in the video but I must have struggled getting that slide back on for 20-30 minutes in the middle of shooting with my old college friends. I just purchased the same model for myself two weeks ago and threw together a new video on it. I tried not to duplicate information. ruclips.net/video/6HARdnvfTug/видео.html
Sounds like a backwards recoil spring? I'm sure this has been suggested since the video was posted, but just in case: it's a directional spring. The barrel side should hold onto the barrel. If it's loose, turn it around.
I picked up a Kahr p380 since I bought the Bersa, but the Bersa still wins on cool points and is way easier to shoot well. Looking forward to the gun ranges reopening.
This low profile sights is an old/dated concept for carry guns. Today even smaller pocket pistols have big sights. But its questionable if in close range selfdefense someone will use his sights.
They're tough to find but once they're lined up you're on or they disappear. It's nice that an inexpensive gun with fixed sights is lined up from the factory. I've never shot the standard Bersa Thunder but it's on my list.
IMO, there really isn’t much in common between this and a Walther PPK. The shape is superficially similar, but it is also similar to a CZ-83. The Bersa engineers once worked for Beretta, and that similarity is apparent.
I've never shot the original but they're definitely smaller. They're similar to the Ruger LCP sights but they're set up as 3 dot so they're a little easier to find. The zero at 25 yards is excellent and I've stretched it out to 100 yards at a man sized steel plate this summer and gotten consistent hits.
Hey Mort13. Yes the slide can be racked and a round chambered with the safety on. I don't believe I used the safety much in the video as I was either in a controlled situation with the snap caps on the table top or at the range and firing the entire magazine. I actually made a video on all the ways to manipulate the pistol to load it for my 63 year old mother. It will show you a lot more about the physical manipulation of the firearm. ruclips.net/video/7SkfTwVwTwo/видео.html Since I made the video I've purchased my own BT380CC. I went to a formal shooting range and tested it a bit more for accuracy. (10 inchs at 25 yards if I did my part) I'll put a link below if that interests you. ruclips.net/video/6HARdnvfTug/видео.html Hope this all helps. Sorry for the long winded response. Thanks for watching and glad I could answer your question.
Sometimes it goes back together easily and sometimes it's a little more stubborn. I just don't mess with the trigger or trigger bar while it's broken down now and wait until I've got it put back together to lube it up and work the oil in.
My old man decided he had a thing for black cats for a while. He was up to a dozen at one point. Unfortunately there’s an attrition rate on the farm from owls and coyotes. Thanks for checking out the video.
If I had one I would have put it out. I feel like the Thunder 380 cc is just kind of it's own thing though. The butt is too long to fit in a pocket (at least in the pants I wear.) It's heavy for size, heavy for caliber, but being hammer fired makes it easier to chamber a round if you cock the hammer first, and it's less recoil because it's heavy. If I had to put it in a class it'd be an easy to manipulate purse or belt gun and more in line with the MP Shield EZ or the Walther CCP. Sorry if I rambled on there. My recollection of what's in the video is a little hazy. Have you shot the Glock 42? It was on my short list when I picked up the G26. If I hadn't already bought in with compatible mags for the G17 and G19 I likely would have picked up a G42 or G43 instead.
Slim, affordable, easy to shoot, and heavy enough that it doesn't jump out of your hand. Plus pleasing to the eye. A good carry gun is like a good woman I guess.
The glasses are Maui Jim’s Hamoa Beach. I got a deal on them at Costco, mooshed my first pair and they sent me a replacement for $80 when I sent them in for repairs. I believe they’ve since been discontinued. And that cat is something else. My old man has a thing for black barn cats.
I've got a soft spot for black cats. I just picked up two kittens last month and made sure one was a black one. I like how they look like they don't have any expression. It's just dark with giant eyes. The one in the video is a particularly fine specimen.
The promag ones are pretty terrible compared to the factory ones. I got my gun dealer to order me some when I bought them so I don't have a good lead on where to buy. Ebay still sells mags so you might try there.
Nice video! How much do each weigh loaded? Not much of a point to give us non loaded weights like the manufacturers unless you carry / holster it unloaded of course.
I'll go with 21.1 oz. That's 16.4 oz. for the gun according to Bersa and +4.7 oz. for the 8 round mag loaded with 90 grain Hydra Shok Hollow Points according to my kitchen scale. Add +.35(ish) oz. per cartridge. Thanks for checking out the video Dave. I think I'd have a more successful channel if I just became the Bersa Thunder network. People seem to really love these little guns.
