Awesome video. I've noticed that most of the guns that you repair seem to just be lack of maintenance, rather than actually broken. That goes to show how important proper maintenance and cleaning is.

The recoil spring went on easy because it was install backward. The tight end should go toward the ramp.

The Bersa Thunder .380CC is a wonderful firearm, very accurate, able to get a great purchase on it, cleans easily, no malfunctions.
It is never necessary to pay an enormous price for a nice handgun. Only advertisements and propaganda tell a person that. The Bersa Thunder series is priced in the average Joe range, but performs like a million bucks!!

Thanks for the vid. Very thorough. I have an 18-year old Bersa Thunder 380 that I put maybe 20 rounds through when I first bought it and that was it. (I'm a shotgun guy)
I figure it may be time for a cleaning and your vid showed me the right way to do it. Also, I had forgot about Brake Clean as a degreaser. Glad that you also emphasized the importance of removing the grips before using Break Clean. Thanks

Straight and to the point without oversimplifying it. Nice. I just bought one of these and I can tell you they dont lubricate them at all. Im on day 2 of owning it and never fired a single round yet and everything is stiff functioning and bone dry. So im definitely gonna have to do all of this to get it fully functional and operating smoothly. This totally helped me out. Thought it was gonna be more of a hassle.

Great job! I got an inexpensive ultrasonic cleaner from Harbor Freight. Really dirty handguns get the ultrasonic bath in Purple Power which is really cheap at Walmart. It does a remarkable job without harsh chemicals splashing back in your face. You just have to be careful if the gun has any painted parts or lettering as it will remove paint. You can run the used fluid through a coffee filter, store it in a jar, and reuse it for a while. It seems to clean areas that you can’t clean well with spray.

My father didn't clean any of his guns(mostly bolt actions), his whole life. he'd oil down the outside but that was it. I had to sit him down and show him how to clean his AR, then cleaned his .308 woodmaster that was "just worn out and won't feed". you ever seen 40 years of crud build up? its not pretty. some people were just never taught to clean their guns properly.

They come right from the factory pretty dry. The inside of my slide had a fine coat of rust. Didn't notice till I cleaned it and a lot of brown showed up on the rags. After lubing everything, the slide didn't stick when released slow, the safety worked way better. Made all the difference in the world. It's been flawless so far.

When a Bersa is well maintained, it has one of the easiest functioning slide releases I've ever seen on a pistol. You don't have to have a mile long thumb to operate it either. I can't speak for Bersa's newer pistols, but they've got the Thunder's quality down pat. Very good machine work. I myself prefer a Thunder over a PPK any day.

I just ordered two Pro Mag magazines for Bersa 380 and the first thing you notice is, how weak the spring is... And it seems that the plate in the magazine is loose... Right out of the package I was not thrilled the spring is much too soft and at least one or two pounds lighter than a bursa Factory magazine... I'm thinking of buying one. I heard there may be a problem with the firing pin getting gunked up, giving light strikes. Saw a RUclips where a guy took apart the firing pin mechanism (not so easy for novices) and solved the problem. Somebody commented there's a small hole where cleaner can be sprayed into the mechanism to clean it out. Is that true? I just want to thank you, kindly, for this informative video. I'll probably buy a Bersa 380.

IMO=easy to clean and maintain and a good little shooter.

Yes, that's true. You can spray cleaner in there, or even pour a bit of paint thinner or mineral spirits. Either will do the job. The important thing is not to introduce lubricant of any kind into that hole, because that's how the firing pin gets gunked up. Hope this helps!

@@thormusiqueSpray WD-40 in the hole. WD-40 is technically a cleaner and water dispersant and doesn't gunk up the firing pin. 🤠

Paul, you ever heard of these guns "not" shootin straight, no matter what adjustments ya make to it ? One of my buds in church bought one for his wife and she can't hit jack with it, he can't hit jack with it either. These are shootin fools, if ya know what I mean, but this bersa has given them a fit. I offered to buy it for what he wanted, but he doesn't want cash, he wants to barder, but I'm bardered out. He not hard up for money and I'm not hurtin for money. I'd rather buy from a church member rather than a gun store, mainly because my church family takes great care of they're firearms, and we "know" each other.
