congrats! my girlfriend got that for me when we first started going out a few years ago. she knows nothing about movies and only heard me once say I like the Criterion label, and surprised me with this gift for our first Christmas together. you will enjoy the book immensely.
Congrats on an awesome find. I love when Criterion does things like this. They used to issue postcards of releases too back in the day. They would put them in random DVD releases. I am really happy for you. Enjoy and keep reading, designing and collecting.
@@FilmsByColor, Yes, I've gotten quite a few over the years. It was so exciting to get one and also they used to provide a pamphlet of forthcoming releases, we are still waiting for some of those releases from the late 90's early 2000's!
Holy moly this is awesome! I had no idea this even existed! 8:35 Monsters and Madmen artwork by the GOAT: Darwyn Cooke! One of the greatest storytellers to ever live, and the best comic book artist ever, if you ask me.
I, too, just ordered my copy of this holy grail from an online bookseller in "like new" condition for $225. Thanks for the book tour, and thanks for all the effort and quality you've been putting into your channel. I'm enjoying it!
I have been waiting for them to make an new updated version with added new designs and covers! But if it never happens I might go hunting for this one too!
Green for Danger is one of my favourite ever films. I wish Criterion would make an upgrade for it. Plus a post for me to frame on my wall. I adore the artwork for it.
Use WD-40 to get the sticker off. It wipes away easily after the glue is gone. Just use Simple Green or 409 to clean up remaining solution. You can buff out with a microfiber cloth after that.
Picked this up myself 2 years ago when I started to pick up the OOP criterion blus. I'm glad I did because it looks like it's selling for about 2.5x what I got it for then

Man that's awesome! Criterion blu rays are the best, and I love movie poster art. That book looks wonderful.

"Green for Danger" is a brill British movie, 9/10 a who did it it, you will never guess who did it.
Nice. I picked this up when it first came out. I wish they would do a version 2 with new stuff.
Wow, I looked it up. I had no idea they were going for that much.
Yeah it’s crazy expensive now. Do you remember how much you paid for it new?
@@FilmsByColor $80
Add another zero and you can pre-order a box set. Lol
Had this book. It suffered irreparable water damage due to a flood and had to be binned 😢
This book costs $80 at the time (2014), still have the original order email. I actually was going to order 2 just I case. Should have.
I guess Godzilla when you showed the size
i was wrong
Leave the sticker. 50-100 years from now it will be a cool little extra.
This is not my serious comment, but I am doing laundry right now and losing my will to live.
