I'm the same age & started watching it about the same time. I remember the 1st scene I ever saw was Erica's niece running about in the corridor in a panic or something?
I would of loved to have seen Jude Kuring (Noeline Burke) on some of these reunions. Watching a compilation of some of her earlier and later work and she's a very good actress.
@@ScoundrelDaysSon No, listen again. She's says, "which was quite something" and Val makes a face and the audience laughs. It's open to interpretation. I didn't say it was odd. I just found it interesting, but we're both entitled to our opinions..
I love the character of Bea and I respect Val Lehman as an actress she is an amazing gifted actress who sadly never to the chance to show how versatile she could be, But Val as a person I don't respect she is a very arrogant and dismissive with a high opinion of herself iv seen her on talk shows being extremely rude and making it obvious she doesn't want to be on the talk show only for the money im guessing due to this she didn't get the work she expected which is a shame as she has endless talent
Interesting observation and appreciated opinion. I feel Val felt perhaps felt she could have achieved more after PCBH but it didn't quite happen? Her character was from the beginning very much the headline of PCBH but in reflection it was a collective, everyone played their part in it's success. I remember when her character Bea escaped for the first time from hospital in the show , Bea stayed with an old friend. Val played that part brilliantly throughout and she showed how good she was. When watching these clips I sometimes watch Val's reaction to what is being said by fellow cast members and their memories of PCBH. Val at times can't hide her reactions to what is said! I think Prisoner meant much to her perhaps more than we realise? I appreciate there are those from the fanclubs who have met her and know abit about Val and her take on the PCBH years.
@@absoluteacw Thanks i wrote a similar post on Facebook several years back and got a lot of haters, But it's just my opinion, Yeah that was the episode where Ann Yates stabbed her and she stayed with an ex-inmate the same actress who played Aunty May Collins, I think because of typecasting she might have been angry at that too, I could be completely wrong with my first post but I couldn't help but notice, I also admire all the emotions she could act during a tight filming schedule like that very talented, I do feel for her when she once said in another interview that she never had the chance to play a memorable character that was miles away from Bea. I really hope she does thou and blows us all away with those skills.
@emperorpalpatine783 That was something PCBH did much of was that of using actors twice or perhaps even three occasions for different roles. I think the acting pool was quite small from what I read at the time? I wonder if Val felt she was responsible for Prisoners success long after it ended and in particular when it was screened to a new generation. Val wanted more accolades as whenever people who aren't familiar with Prisoner talk of it, they always know who Bea is. There is a scene with Bea and I'm sure it is with Judy played by Betty Bobbit. Judy has been given quite the dialogue by the scriptwriter and Bea just mutters dare I say a few lines after Judy, I always felt Bea wasn't happy with her roles input in that scene, something I didn't forget. There is no doubt how big Vals input was and still is but in reflection, everyone played their part in it's success.
@@nickmorrell3559 Terrible that Val still has a feud with Elspeth. She should have been there, and if Val didn't like it, she could always give it a miss. Let Elspeth have the chair for a change and enjoy the fan adoration.

Thanks for posting! That was interesting what she said -- or didn't say -- about Val. LOL
Immediately after saying she hadn't met Val before: 'and we've been great friends since'. I didn't think it was that odd!

@@ScoundrelDaysSon That is correct. Nobody is saying they aren't friends.

Elspeth is never at these do,s ...why not ?
because the events are usually organised by Val Lehman, and she is not close with Elspeth
