Fiona Spence is TRULY amazing. I am stunned by her brilliance. I was trying to see a hint of Vera in her but genuinely could not. What an outstanding actress.
there are wobbly walls in it, in some of the later episodes it's more noticeable(Rita/Kath era for sure) But the wobbly walls thing does get tiresome, you can watch Fawlty Towers and see wobbly walls and no one brings it up for that, but they do for Prisoner, so its annoying.
No, it was an overnight programme that was shown here a few years ago that used to show a compilation of all sorts of things from their archives, inbetween the announcer reading out texts and emails, and background music like this would always be playing over everything annoyingly.
The reason aussie soaps did so well here in the uk is because they are more upbeat, better acted and sunny (literally and metaphorically.) They have nothing of the misery and arrogant self-importance of British soap operas. They are also and frequently very funny. British soap operas are largely humourless. Coronation Street is also camp and patronizing. In short, Australian soap operas are better.
there were lots of really depressing story lines in prisoner lol I think aussie soaps do well here because in some ways we're more similar so they're highly relatable, more so than US TV, we share a lot of slang words as well
Yeah,I thought she was partnered with one of the script writers for Prisoner,Denise Morgan. Really sad that she thought she had to pretend that she was fielding potential male suitors. This was 1990,not 1890!!!
I adore Fiona Spence! Gentle, sweet, beautiful lady--I could listen to her speak for hours.

The only thing I could notice was that she looked like Vera more than she looked like Fiona if you get my meaning. I couldn't see Fiona, only Vera.
She's beautiful. Celia and Vera are SO different. Just displays what a wonderfully versatile actress she is.
I totally agree, never noticed a wobbly wall yet. Fiona is lovely, always so sweet and kind.

At this point in time she was just as famous for Home and Away.
Fione spence is English born in the UK London 🇬🇧.
The sets didn't wobble when Fiona was in it.
I went to the Aberdeen show all those years ago and met Fiona and Jane Clifton afterwards. I must now find the photographs again!
Was that annoying music originally on the interview? It's spoiling it.
