I actually like the simple looks- no gaudy slashes, huge grilles and "vents". Almost bought a Protege in 1992 but purchased a Nissan Sentra instead. And....why are they comparing it to mid-sized cars? Wrong class.

I’ve owned an AMG E55, pretty rare, 2004 Nissan 350 Z grand sport as well as driving other sports cars. In terms of driving pleasure, excitement, this car has them all beat, I regret selling it, I should’ve restored it. With a Dino max exhaust it sounded like a European Italian sports car. When my car got rear ended, I took it to a body shop that worked on a lot of Ferraris as the owner was trained in Italy at the Ferrari factory. He took it for a test drive for about 15 minutes and came back with a big grin on his face. He said “wow, this car is torquey and quick . I didn’t think Japanese could make a sports cars.” I was thinking of buying a used 2002 Porsche Boxster S but after driving it I was disappointed with the engine response and the clutch felt crappy. It would out handle my car but in terms of fun I would rather have my car any day over that Porsche. I was expecting the Porsche to be a lot more exciting to drive compared to my car, but it wasn’t.
