    I can't believe 2004 is now retro. Time goes too fast. Any car from 2000 on is still new to me

    Japanese V8s really are something special.

    Had a 2021 rental. Not a Nissan fan, but this thing was absolutely amazing. Comfortable, quiet, great power. If I was looking for a large suv, I would take this over a caddy or Lincoln. The bad is it’s a thirsty beast

    Those interior plastics did not age well, but it's a Nissan so I won't be too critical.

      But this is still an old Nissan from the 90s (cuz developing does take time). But the save cost was already in full swing.

    I wanna get one from a used market, and swap its 5.6 V8 for a newer, 2010s 5.6 V8 with much more power on it,
    the 400 horse type😎

    2:13 "Bottom end push is quite strong, but the 5.6 makes excellent power in the top end as well" makes me think that quarter mile trap speed must be a typo then? 15.5s @ 82 was probably meant to read 15.5s @ *9*2 which would make much more sense for this car's acceleration times (even despite the full size SUV aerodynamics).

    Wait is this the same engine they are currently using in the Armada?

    • @joshuabellezady6675
      @joshuabellezady6675 Год назад +8

      Both engines are almost the same. The old Armada uses the Nissan VK56DE engine while the newer ones use the Nissan VK56VD. The older VK56DE has distributed injection while the newer VK56VD has direct injection. The newer VK56VD has VVEL (Variable Valve Event Lift) which is kinda like Nissan's version VTEC. The newer engine also has a higher compression ratio. The older VK56DE makes 325 HP while the newer VK56VD makes 390 HP for the US and 400 HP for the rest of the world.

      @@joshuabellezady6675 It makes 400 hp in the US Nissan Titan.

    My mom had a 2005 Pathfinder SE and while it had plenty of power and decent features, it was as unreliable as a politicians promises. The rear hatch failed not once, but twice, almost burying my mom severely each time (thankfully it didn't). Reverse gear failed in a weird way where it wouldn't engage until 4k RPM, which you can understand the problems with that, before the transmission failed entirely. The rear hatch leaked making car washes pointless. Also it sounded like a dump truck with its unbelievablely loud engine
    I don't remember more than that but there was a lot of issues, what a piece of absolute crap, but that's annoying because I do like these big old beasts
