    If not for Victoria's Secret, I wouldn't have cared about my unhealthy lifestyle. When I saw the models, I was motivated to gain a habit of working out and eating less unhealthy food! People have complimented me ever since I started, and working out helped me boost my confidence greatly! Thank you VS!

      Polilla We should be more careful about our workout sessions as to not overdo it, also our diets. We can't entirely copy the diets of the Angels, because we all have different body types. A healthy diet depends on your blood type! Make sure to do researches first concerning it before jumping to conclusions! You might give your body a shock if you suddenly cut out a kind of food it was already used to, so do it carefully.

      +Ascult muzica *category, and anorexia is a mental disorder, you don't have to be skinny, and who are you to judge that these women are unhealthy just by looking at them? I personally know people way skinnier than them that eat more than the average overweight person, so you don't reserve rights to judge people by how they look.

    I feel it's promoting me to hit the gym, exercise more, eat clean. Taking care more of my body for a good health. I know that not everybody has the body type like the VS girl. But to me I feel it's completely realistics. I had never done any exercise when I was younger, and my body type was similar to the VS girl. Now I'm aging and getting fatter, but still these VS models are my inspiration to get fit again.

    How are their bodies unrealistic when there are people who's bodies actually look like that? Not to sound cocky but I actually have a body similar to these models and it pissed me off when people say that they are unhealthy and their bodies is unrealistic, it's sad they worked hard for that body and some are born naturally skinny like myself. Calling someone body unrealistic is also body shaming, if you don't like how your body looks then I recommend you do something about it instead of crying about how Victoria secret models are "unrealistic".

      Abuk Akol I'm the exact same, tall, thin, long legs etc, I have a small thigh gap too (and I've been told I've got a nice figure) (and I'm not trying to be cocky or anything), and I would never starve myself, or harm my body in any way, victoriasecret models have athletic figures, and you can see it in them, it's just jealous cunts who have nothing better to do so they like to pick on people because they're angry that the models have better figures than themselves, but, if you have a strong mind you will know that no body's figure is better than yours, unless you make it out to be, and if someone has a "better figure" than you, it goes to show how self conscious you are. Lol but yeah I agree 😂

      you realize this body type is literally impossible for many to achieve no matter how much they work out or how healthy they eat this is literally science their are different body types, bone density, frames and structure (if you look carefully you'll even see that though these models are the same body TYPE the shape of each body is slightly different not EXACTLY the same) we all have for many people to strive for this type of body is extremely unhealthy and would make them extremely underweight NO ONE should work out to achieve somebody else's body type because frankly it is impossible you seem a bit agitated at the truth which is that this body type is "unrealistic" for many that doesn't automatically mean it is so because its the "best body" two things you seem to have connected you even said yourself you have a similar body type and are NATURALLY skinny for some one to strive for what you have naturally may not be healthy for that individual

    They definitely motivate to go to the gym. If you look through their instagram, you will see how much they work out. Of course most of us can't spend every day in gym like Angels. But you can spend 2 days a week working out instead of siting at home & saying that it's photoshop

      Except it IS Photoshop.
      These already small women are then airbrushed and,photoshopped,to the point even THEY cant achieve. The models,on the runway also,lead incredibly,unhealtht lifestyles. Many give up solid foods weeks becore the show. They spend the equivalent of work,days in the gym,doing,intense workouts. They eat nutrionally,devoid diets that are only,meant to,sustain them. Girls,who gain muscle are threatened because they arent allowed to be bulky so,if their body naturally gains muscle they are forced into even more rigorous things,to,get rid of it. Yes, these models,are naturally,slender but the image they put out into the world is only,obtainable by like 2% or less of the population. It isnt realistic and isn't obtainable by a typical woman.

    • @kendrahouck984
      @kendrahouck984 6 лет назад +1

      raya strong
      Im not mad, but I DO think it's ireespinsible to promote a lifestyle like this and an image like this as attainable. A "typical woman." Is bases off of a everages ans health information. These models do not eat or exercise on a healthy manner. They eat less calories a day than their body needs, they over exercise ans exercises targetes specifically for fat burning because they arent allowed to,out on muscle because it isnt considered "sexy." They go for weeks at a time eating no solids and some even fast from all,food,prior to a show. When they get to the show they over eat and binge on junk foods and then start the cycle,over again. A woman living a typical lifestyle CANNOT attain this. Yes, everyone should exercise and eat a balanced diet but that looks different on everyone...and that's the point. These models account for a body type that is posseses by less than 1% of women in the world. Ergo...typical women are not going to,be able to,obtain that body. Not to mention those that try are literally pushing themselves to the brink of starvation and malnutrition to do so. Then they take already incresibly thin and inrealistic models and Photoshop away ANY type of imperfection, somthing that is 100% unattainable. Real women are going to,have strech marks, cellulite, discoloration etc. That's just how bodies and life work .

    • @kendrahouck984
      @kendrahouck984 6 лет назад

      And yes they are unnatural. The fact these girls hsve to work out the equivilant of a part time job and eat diets that even nutritionist say is unhealthy and restrictive when paired with that much exercise makes them abnormal. Women working a regular 9-5 and eating a well balanced doet are 98-99% of the time not going to,look like a VS model. Because their lifestyle in unhealthy and unnatural does in fact make them abnormal... If the average person cant achieved it with an average healthy lifestyle it isnt healthy ans it isnt normal. It's an extreme and should t be promoted as a beacon of health. I'd bet money many of these girls have just as many health related issues as someone obese because it's gotten to a point of looks/lifestyle,over actual,health

    • @kendrahouck984
      @kendrahouck984 6 лет назад

      raya strong
      It is easily researchable how thesw girls exercise and eat... It isnt healthy. Of course mant of them were born naturallt,skinny. The point is VS pushes them to a point of problems. I did work for LBrands at one point as well so I know a lottle bit more than most people when it comes to,the inner workings of their brand. No, there is no "typical" woman, but there is a typical health model and that would be eating roughly 2,000 calories a day of balanced nutrition paired with 30 mins to an hour of exercise daily. Again these models eat sometimes under 1,000 calories a day, they fast, they binge jubk at the shows, ans they exercise the length of a job every day with exercises built to just burn there caloric intake. They say themselves as has the trainer that they aren't allowed to,gain muscle because then they won't fill out the lingere properly. Girl have been dropped feom the show for less than 2 pounds of weight gain. I'm,not saying don't be inspired or dont be healthy. But, it's important to,realize in print these girls are heavily photoshopped (theres been several scandals with VS Photoshop) as well as uphold a lifestyle impossible nearly anyone because of the time it take since most people have a job. It's not anger, it's a rwalistic attitude toward an unhealthy lifestyle. MOST people in this comment thread have already said that overweight people,are disgusting ans unhealthy but yet all turn around and praise these models,who also arent healthy. They live for their LOOK not for their health

      there are 7,5 billion people in this world. considering half of them are women that's over 3,7 billion. if only 1% out of it would be women in their 20s that's 37 million women!!! you wanna set the beauty standard based on 20 women who are literally paid for nothing else but looking flawless for millions of women out there who have full time jobs or study at university or take care of the family without help of 10 nannies. yeah...that's sounds about right

      Vanessa Exactly lol I see people that thin on a daily basis. There wasn't anything fat shaming in that campaign people are just too sensitive. Maybe they shouldn't let the media define what's attractive for them and just be happy with the body they have or work harder to get the one they want ☺

      But do you see any 5'3 models with the body shapes they do? No. Because it's not possible. You have to take into account one's frame, bone structure, weight, height etc to be able to have some kind of body type

    • @kloeabbott8540
      @kloeabbott8540 7 лет назад +2

      Exactly!!!

    • @annaskill5500
      @annaskill5500 7 лет назад +48

      It's not just being thin that makes them look like that tho, and maintaining a low bodyweight varies a ton in difficulty depending on your genes and childhood. Not to mention if you got a lot of other shit to do in life that you value more. Anyway, I have a BMI of roughly 18 and almost visible ribs and yet I'll never have their shape because my hips and ribs are quite broad and square-ish, i'm not tall and even though I've been very physically active my entire life I just don't get that kind of visible muscle except if im really dehydrated (which is a well known technique before fashion shows anyway - not drinking anything the hours before the show).
      We can't just not take science into consideration and think that because a minority of bodies look like that all can. This is true in many areas, take for one solid example outside of bodyshape skin color/shade. Just because most people can get dark and tan, me and a bunch of other pasty fuckers can't because the pigment is absent in our skin. We can lay in the sun all we want, striving and working for that tan, but all we get is burnt red and an increased risk for cancer. It would be freaking ridiculous to expect us to still go lay in the sun to try to get that tan when it's not gonna happen - and we don't even want it! Not to mention tanning is bad for everyone and increases the risk for skincancer and premature aging of the skin. Just 'cause it looks good doesn't mean automatically it's healthy, same with the model body in my humble opinion.
      Mental health is also a factor - in psycology the ruling theory is that your mental health is about 50% based on your biology because genes determine how your brain is built. Some people just really should not go on a strict diet and exercise plan because they have an increased risk of developing eating disorders due to their genetic setup. Eating disorders are the most lethal of all mental illnesses, so it really isn't worth the risk for some of us.

    Victoria Secret models are way different than "normal" models. VS Models have curves and a firm body which motivates you to work out and eat healthy. "Normal" models are mostly very skinny and have no curves because they didn't eat at all. This is a big difference!
    I love the VS lingeré because this are the most comfortable and good looking bras and pantys i ever wore. Plus the models motivates me to eat healthy and work out. ♥

    Im glad I'm not the only one who sees this as motivating instead of negative. I understand that being overweight is due to a lot of factors but for the most part we control it. I think body shaming does exist but it's the biggest excuse for staying overweight because they tell you to "love your (overweight ) body" but I bet you won't love diabetes or cholesterol.

      BOTDF Lover 98Pounds is way underweight for your height on almost all height weight charts that are out there. People are not kidding about your weight, it is not something to say they are wrong about if every health based equation says you are really underweight. Do not ignore these things and make up excuses like you are healthy because you eat healthy. You need to eat according to your metabolism and definitely you need to talk to a doctor about your weight as it may cause health problems. Maybe you meant 4'10?

    They totally motivate me to be healthy! If people believe that is what they should look like even if it doesn't fit their body type that is there own issue. Fashion is supposed to promote idealism, its not a wal-mart ad. I know I will never look like a VS model, but I can look like a better version of myself.

      afa1515 I don't work out and eat all the time. I'm not anorexic, I'm healthy, and my body is as skinny as those models. Some people just have that body type, and others don't, it is how it is. And at the end of the day, it's a fashion show, it's about the clothes.

    • @user-hp7nf6pj6s
      @user-hp7nf6pj6s 7 лет назад +7

      afa1515 how exactly do they count as anorexic? You can't judge a mental illness by the appearance of a person, I mean sure a 65 pound girl is probably anorexic but you never know and again they're not even that skinny

    • @RosalieLinette
      @RosalieLinette 7 лет назад +23

      Actually, it is unrealistic for many people including myself to have their body. I'm skinny and healthy, but short. I can never have the VS body because I'm too short. You have to be at least 5'9 to be a VS model. I will never have those long legs, and it isn't because I'm lazy. It is because I'm too short, 5'2 to be exact. If you can tell me an exercise that can make my legs grow 7 inches that would be great.

    • @lilygarner8463
      @lilygarner8463 7 лет назад +25

      It is heavily unrealistic. A friend of mine saw a comment that was near identical to yours saying these bodies are not unrealistic at all and those who can't achieve it are just 'lazy'. She put in the work, cut calories and hit the gym like crazy. She lost weight. A lot. Became anorexic and bulimic because she was so desperate to 'put in the work' and become skinnier. The truth is, you have to consider the body frame, height, density etc of a person. A taller person is more likely to be able to achieve these bodies. A person at around 5'4 is impossible to be able to get these bodies because their frame and bone structures just can't support it

  • @rainbowquartz9092

  • @joanhermoso8116

    Their bodies is not unrealistic at all. Let me put it this way.. Most of these models are born naturally skinny. But being skinny doesnt mean you have natural abs too and natural muscles on your arms and legs.. Those are worked. Muscles is worked. No one can gain such sculpted bodies from just doing nothing at all.
    And i thought i should point this out, am i the only one that notices that the Victoria Secret Angels actually put on weight and more muscles after being with the company? I watch compilations of Their most famous models throughout the years and it's the same pattern every girl goes through. Take Karlie Kloss for example, she was stick thin when she first walked down the runway, now she gained them good weight and she looks amazing! Same with Adriana, Lily, Lais. And lets be honest, compared to the other traditional runway models, these ladies are way more muscular and fit looking than those models. The other models are just skinny, no muscles, just skin and bones..

      Joan Hermoso yes of course they do put on more weight and muscle cuz let us be honest, don’t hate/attack me I don’t mean anything in a bad way at all but skinny girls just don’t have curves that a company like VS would need cuz they are actually selling underwear’s and bras so I guess it makes sense that they do have to gain weight to have more curves to make the garments appear sexier

    • @torijones3172

    • @ritsc9671
      @ritsc9671 5 лет назад

      I don't think they put on weight because of the vs. You are comparing them maybe from being very young(and easier to mantain their bodies and wieght) to years going on(sometimes pregnancy etc) and them having to work out harder to maintain their figure. Idk if I explained myself so I'll try again, lets talk about adriana for example, when she started with vs she was skinnier yes but her face was rounder (In my opinion she looked way better and not this much masculine) She started being with more and more muscles and her face changed also, more angular. I don't think it happened because of vs since she was already working for years with them before starting to change. I think it happened just because once reaching a certain age and having babies she went harder with sports and gym. The more you become older, harder it becomes to mantain certain weights, that's why there are a lot of normal/fit people that still do not weight or are able to mantain what they were during their teen years because it does become harder for a lot of normal people. I'm one myself, I work hard and diet hard, also because I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at some point and gained and lost some weight. No matter how hard I work though, unless I stop eating at, all there is no way in hell I'm able to mantain that weight, I actually was looking very sick and unhealthy, from face to hair to everything, so I HAD to let it go and be happy I'm still able to stay fit despite all my problems.

    Sometimes people complain because to be a model, you must have certain height, waist, bust, hip measurements, a unique face, and a lot of people physically are never going to make those requirements. But that's just the reality of the modelling industry. It's the way clothes sell
    It's like, imagine a commercial for pretty sandals, except the model had an ingrown nail, callouses, dead skin, and hairy toes. What would you notice first - the sandal or her foot?

    When it comes to modeling lingerie or just clothing in general it is good to just be you. I am a newer model to the industry, and I don't let myself starve because that's not a healthy way to live. Also if an agency or photographer is really interested in a potential model then they should not shame your body in any way. I personally don't mind lingerie models because honestly it takes so much confidence to model those outfits. However they are very beautiful women, the excessive photoshop is just unnecessary and unnatural.

    bruh if vs is that desperate for high sales when they have 7.1 billion that they have to call "popular" models like kendall, gigi and bella? I think what they mean by unrealistic body standards is also the fact that there are very few women in the world who will have the exact proportions and bone structure AND height, the whole package, that a company like VS looks for. Not just the fact that they promote thin women. Anyone can thin down given the right adjustment in diet and proper workout routine, but it doesn't just stop there with VS. Because VS is strict with the body measurements they accept for their shows/brand, being just thin/having abs isn't enough. I've heard of instances where they deny girls to walk for their shows that check out in every area, but maybe their waist or hips are an inch bigger than the cut off number. That's pretty ridiculous over an inch, it's not like 99% of people watching would be able to tell an inch's difference. But it's not like you can change something like your bone structure by eating different

    • @felonyharlem2219
      @felonyharlem2219 6 лет назад +3

      Sam S What your saying is true, but I honestly don't see a problem. Every one has standards. From a person looking for a good, romantic partner to a tall guy unable to be a jockey because there is a height and weight limit. VS has standards as well and it's these high standards that give them a high-class feel. As for the "inch", theu reject girls that do not fit their standards because thousands of girls audition and there are a lot that do. Of course they would rather have someone fit their standards.

    To answer your question, the angels motivate me! I naturally (I know I'm lucky and no I'm not lying but yes I'm also only 15 so things can change) have the standard body measurements for a VS model, but what I lack is the toned muscles. Seeing them makes me realize my potential and makes me think, if I just worked out for a year and was committed to it, I could look exactly like a VS model, and it really makes me motivated, it doesn't bring me down at all. These girls look the way they do because of hard hard work and being healthy, so there's no reason to feel like it's un-realistic because the truth is, it isn't, you just need to be willing to work for it.

      Candice Candy fall out boy is a "rock" band. they are not really rock though. They sing the hit songs "light em up", "centuries" and "uma thurman". some of their old hit songs consist of "thnks fr th mmrs" and "sugar were goin down". They formed in the summer of 2001, and the band members are patrick stump (singer), joe trohman (guitarist) , pete wentz (bass guitarist) and andy hurley (drummer).

    I wouldn't say they are body shaming, but tbh I can never look like them. Their look is unrealistic for certain people. I stay in between 113-118lbs, but I'm only 5'2. Although I'm skinny, I'm not and never will be tall enough. So for a short girl like me, the VS body is completely unrealistic unless I have surgery to have my legs extended lol

      @cats_call_me_mama 5 лет назад

      Im a short girl as well shorter than you actually 4'11...i have no issues... I have a naturally skinny stature and honestly for me thats all that matters.. Your height is genetics.. Whereas your weight is actually in your control.. Some people lik the way they are. I dont feel its unrealistic.

    Im just getting more motivated to continue my training and take care of my body and soul. How can it be unhealthy to take care of yourself. I dont get that. Now its like u have to be a shamed cause your not fat? I dont have any problems with bodys in all size. Love your body, or work for the body u want, and dont be a shame.

      Prizzy Pringles Who knows why people with money would even watch this video when they could have that body easily with paying for a personal trainer, dietitian, and surgeries. Kind of just seems like a rude intro as probably only about 1% to 0 will actually be millionaires or billionaires watching this.

  • @phinenice1

    I think over the years, being fit and healthy has become such a trend! Which is good! I think before hand, it was more about being naturally thin/skinny without doing anything. I've heard that VS models DO eat on the day of the Fashion Show and they do have a burger here and then when they're not working. I've even seen pics from backstage of VS where they eat pancakes, waffles and crossaints on the big day!! Sure they have diets, but an interview with Adriana Lima, she says that some of the models change their diets weeks up to the show, she doesn't, she just works out. She does it because she loves it and want to be a good example for her child. After all this, I've gained so much more respect for VS and if I had the Measurements of a model i would love to cast for VS! Can't wait for the show!!!!!!!!!!
