Nice reaction!!!🦊💖The lyrics written by Queen SU make it more special! The songs are cool and the choreography is fantastic! 😉BABYMETAL always gives a perfect performance.
Divine Attack has a special place in my heart, as it was the first new song we heard from them after a pretty long time and after a phase when we didn't even know if or how they would continue. So when I heard the first lines of Su's vocals, I immediately started to cry. From time to time, these emotions still well up in me when I hear the song.
I really love this song, it's one of my favorites from "The Other One" album. It's great that BM manages to write catchy melodies combined with kick ass music. 🙂 (I wouldn't be a fan if it were otherwise since I'm a sucker for melodies.)
great reaction Abi-Metal, here is a Kami timeline: 2012-2017 face paint, white robes, December 2017-present, dark robes, 2018 dark robes, face paint, 2019 all Kami, mask and dark robes, with one exception, being LMG where they brought back the white robes for the Eastern guys but still with the mask, both bands playing together for the encores both days, Eastern Kami last performance was the BABYMETAL returns 2023, when the Western Kami band started playing in Japan, I knew the East kami band was being phased out, but anyway there are a couple of ways to tell the difference between bands during the time that they were both used, the American Kami band are bigger fellas with tattoos on their arms, and if you're really hardcore, you can tell by their instruments. Someday the Kami Band will be younger than the ladies...lol
The mask first started with the Japanese KAMI BAND wearing them the week of Glastonbury festival in 2019 with them doing back to back to back to back shows in Japan and the UK and back to Japan all in the same week and the western KAMI BAND was introduced later for the US tour wearing the mask also without any announcement on who would be backing Babymetal on the US tour but it was very apparent it wasn't the Eastern KAMI BAND because these guys were much bigger physically
Yeah the Western Kamis were formerly in a band called the Galactic Empire that opened for BABYMETAL once, except for the drummer. Hint: you can recognize musicians not by their look but by their instruments. The guitar, the bass, the drumset...
@@Abigirl_Reacts Just adding, the pink glittery guitar of Takayoshi Ohmura from the original Kamis even has a name, Pink Chan, and he had its own seat on the tour bus. The guitarist who passed away in the beginning of 2018 had a red guitar, but Ohmura brought that guitar along on their tour next year. It was a great experience seeing Ohmura playing Mikio's guitar. I wish I could see Mikio playing but... things happen.
@@traylor2502 And ... their sound is completely different. Both are amazing, but both bands played the songs differently. Not better or worse, just different.
The Kami Band costumes have changed, much like Babymetal's costumes have changed throughout the years. They started out without the masks, but instead facepaint and white garb to kind of give the idea of spirits, and has time has moved on, their outfits have changed and they began wearing masks as well. Personally I prefer without the masks, it shows their expressions and there were times where the Kami band would have fun with the girls, especially the drummer. There's videos out there of the drummer and Moa making faces at each other during their concerts to try and make each other laugh, and just things like that. I miss that stuff. I think the masks takes something away from them, but thats just a personal opinion.
Nice reaction. I'm sure we have explained all about the Kami Band, but I guess it is confusing if you are only coming back to BABYMETAL every few days. So the Kami Band history in a nutshell. Kami Band East first appeared in October 2012 dressed in white with face paint. In December 2017 black robes replaced the white. In 2019 masks replaced the face paint and after the first few concerts of the tour the Kami Band of the West took on the foreign tours, Kami Band East continued to play the Japanese concerts. 2023 January Kami Band East played the BABYMETAL Returns concerts. 2023 April Kami Band West played the BABYMETAL Begins concerts (PIA Arena) and have been ever present since then.
@@Abigirl_ReactsIn general, if you see a pro shot video that came between 2019 and January 2023, it will be the Japanese Kamis if the show is in Japan and the Western Kamis if outside of Japan. There's one exception. In 2020, Babymetal performed the Legend Metal Galaxy shows over two nights, where they played all the songs from the Metal Galaxy album. The first night featured the Japanese Kamis in white robes and masks and the second featured the Western Kamis (their 1st Japanese appearance) in black robes and masks. The final song for each evening featured all 8 Kamis on stage. This was the Avenger era, so each of the three Avengers (the only time all three were ever together) did a block of songs each night. Again, the final song each night featured all 5 girls on stage with the 8 Kamis. I highly recommend the Trilogy of Lights (Starlight, Shine, Arkadia) that has only been performed at this show. The Avenger will be Riho Sayashi and it will be the Western Kamis. Be careful not to get a compilation. If you're interested in seeing those final songs with 5 girls and 8 Kamis, they are Road of Resistance from night 1 and Ijime Dame Zettai (IDZ) from night 2. If you are at all interested in the Avengers, these are the shows to watch, since they get more screen time here than in any other show in that era. Both LMG shows are posted in their entirety on RUclips. There was a European tour after these shows supported by the Western Kamis with Momoko and Riho, which was cut short by Covid. Riho did the first half of the tour and it's been Momoko ever since. Other than a few TV appearances, the only live shows in the Covid era were the Budokan shows (10th anniversary celebration) that had Momoko with the Japanese Kamis. After their return from their 2 year seal, they performed their Babymetal Returns shows in January 2023 with the Japanese Kamis and Momoko as a support dancer. It's been all Western Kamis since the PIA arena shows in April 2023, where Momoko became a full member.
@@Abigirl_Reacts Su's lazy, Yui and Moa are credited with writing the words and music for '4 No Uta' (Song 4) in 2013 and released on their first album on 26 Feb 2014. Ok, Divine Attack might be a little more mature, but hey, that's a 10-year difference .... I am kidding of course; Su did a kick-ass job with the lyrics for this song.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。Both Kami Bands, either east or west, wear masks since April, 2019. Then 2023 Makuhari show in January was played with masked Eastern and this 2023 Pia Arena show in April was with Western. I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Day-2 (April 2) last year when the newly born BABYMETAL began with Momometal after being inducted as the official 3rd girl on the day before. I was in the pit on Momo's side. Rejoicing 😍 Su-Metal, the lyricist of this song, explained in an interview the reason why she chose a phrase "(Time to) go your way" in stead of "go our way" whereas it seems to me that this song is a kind of call to build up grit of BABYMETAL themselves and their followers after their hiatus. She said like "It may be better with 'our', but I though it was adamant or pushy to fans who have various tastes in music. They do not need to accept everything about BABYMETAL. I hope they follow us at their own discretion. In addition, I was seeking some words thinking of people who might be encouraged to brace themselves up or to explore their own ways with the help of powers given by my lyrics. Certainly the connotation of this song implies 'let's go together' but I hold a individual fan in high esteem. [source : magazine PMC vol.27 page 38] What a thoughtful person our Queen is !
@@Abigirl_Reacts Fugelhornoldman is a respected and gracious contributor to Babymetal reactions, he is on the ground in Japan and provides thoughtful and nuanced information on Babymetal performances. I read every comment of his I see because he will often have a precious kernel of information I am missing, just like this comment.
The situation this Kami band is complicated but I'll try to explain it. The Kami Band first appeared with Babymetal was at Legend I on October 6th 2012, but it was a completely different set of musicians from the members who later became regulars. From the get go, they appeared in the white funeral robes and corpse paint. The iconic lineup featuring Mikio Fujioka, Leda Cygnus, Takayoshi Ohmura, BOH, and Hideki Aoyama wouldn't show up until early 2013 when they would gradually join and cement their places in the lineup. The look and membership of the Kami Band stayed pretty consistent from 2013 until 2018 when Mikio tragically passed away and his place was filled by Isao Fujita. Through all this period, the white robes and corpse paint look remained (although they did dress up as wizards during the 2018 tour). The masks and robes first appeared in 2019 with the Japanese Kami band, then when the western Kami Band debuted at the first show of the 2019 US tour in Orlando, Florida, they appeared in the new robes with the oni masks. Ever since then, regardless of which Kami Band has performed with Babymetal they have always been masked, although the mask design changed following their return from the hiatus. There has been a lot of speculation among fans about the reason for the addition of the masks. Some people think that Koba felt that the Kami Band were getting too popular and well recognised in their own right and he didn't want them taking attention away from Babymetal. Others think that it was to cover up the fact that the musicians were westerners and not Japanese. No-one really knows for sure what the reason was, but pretty much everyone agrees that the masks suck and would prefer them to go back to the face paint so they can be more part of the performance again. Much like the Japanese Kami Band, the Western Kami Band lineup has likewise been very consistent, with Chris Kelly, CJ Masciantonio, and Anthony Barone appearing at every show the western Kami have done. Clint Tustin has played bass most of the time, but due to his commitments as guitarist for ERRA, he has missed several tours in recent years, with Ryan Neff and Matt Deis both filling in at different times. Since Babymetal's return, the Japanese Kami Band has only performed with them for one show, their first show back in January 2023 Babymetal Returns. Every other show that they have done since then, including PIA Arena has been the Western Kami band. At this stage, it looks like the Western Kami might be the only Kami band going forwards, as the members of the Japanese Kami band are heavily involved with other projects these days, although BOH still has Kami band in his twitter bio, so who knows. The Kami band is an integral part of Babymetal's live performance and they never perform without them, barring a handful of exceptional instances such as TV appearances, or the time Dragonforce filled in at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards when Amuse wouldn't pay for the Kami to fly to the US with Babymetal just to do an awards shows. The Western Kami don't perform together in any other band, but the Japanese Kami do appear together from time to time (along with some other friends) when they appear as the "MLG Avengers" for special concerts that they do once a year to honor Mikio Fujioka's memory. The song "The Hills of Wisteria" performed by the MLG Avengers is a tribute to Mikio written by Takayoshi Ohmura; Mikio's last name Fujioka means "wisteria hill". @@Abigirl_Reacts Even if you don't react to it (I believe it gets claimed almost all the time), it's still worth a watch to see the virtuosity of the OG Kami Band in full flight.
I really wish they would perform this song on their last tour. You would think they would perform it more as Su actually wrote the lyric and should be very proud of it. It would be a great crowd energizer (not that they need it) This song would be perfect opener or just another great song to get crowd interaction. 🤘🦊🤘
Babymetal is the three girls. Kami band is the band who support Babymetal for live shows, and it could be anyone not specific. if you play for Babymetal shows then there are rules and requirements to follow. So far I'm very satisfied who ever played in the Kami band, they deserved so much credit for the talent
Both Kami band have worn masks since the Metal Galaxy world tour in 2019-2020. The last time the Eastern Kami band played with Babymetal was the Babymetal Returns concerts on January 28th-29th 2023. After that the Western Kami band became the band going forward up until the present.
Amazing reaction Abi-Metal! I do wish Babymetal plays this song more often. One of my favorites, and Su’s 1st song as a lyricist. Also, the translations are a bit off “Want you to give me your life” should mean “dedicate your life to it”. Babymetal’s lyrics are always well crafted, but much of the “smartness” can be lost in translation. On the Kami Band: *Before 2019:* Kami East only - *_White Face Paint_* *2019:* Kami West was added. *_BOTH_* Kami East *_AND_* West wore masks. *2023, Jan:* Babymetal Returns concert - last show Kami East played. *2023, Apr:* Starting from the Pia Arena MM (Babymetal Begins) show, Kami West became Babymetal’s sole backing band. How to tell them apart: 1). Easiest way - Hairy arms, heavy forearm tattoos, and stockier build = West. 2). You can also recognize the guitars commonly used by each musicians, example: East - Takayoshi’s Hot pink glam glitter guitar, Boh’s 6-string bass West - Chris’ hot purple glam guitar, CJ’s tiger stripped guitar. But, they do swap guitars mid-show for some songs. Hope that helps! 🤘🦊
Divine Attack. The first Babymetal lyrics written by Su-metal. Hence the name. Divine Attack. Su is known as a "Goddess" (quite literally in the Babymetal lore). She is the "Divine" of "Divine Attack". The attack are the lyrics themselves. Might as well call the song, "Su's Attack". She is challenging herself to become something new and in the process, challenging us to follow her. In other words, she is declaring she is no longer a cute young girl in a tutu fronting a brutal metal band. She is a grown ass women. An artist in her own right. She and Babymetal are on a new path and we can follow them..... or not.
Nice one, thanks! About the Kami Band topic: no, that's not accurate. It's more like =2019 = masks. Independently of what the set of the Kami Band is (eastern or western). With that addressed, I love this song from the very first time I listened to it. And that's very rare on me. It's well structured, elegant, with a smooth drive, cool drum & bass parts, nice orchestral touch, some heavy riffing and, of course Su-metal's amazing vocals. Not to mention that she is credited for the lyrics on this one for the first time. That's a really big achievement for her and (in her own words) a "dream" and "a final goal in life". Okay so... (Sakura Gakuin Graduation Departures 2011 from March 2012): ruclips.net/video/XeDgyu9EuwE/видео.html "Headbanger!" Keep on asking questions. It just shows you want to learn, rather than assume.👍 there's so much to know, and so much that isn't known, that becoming a Babymetal fan feels like taking a PhD. I still don't understand the lore at all. Something about legends with letters and numbers after them is all I know lol. Watching the most recent guide, or reacting to it, would help, but that's up to you.
Great reaction. This is one of my favorite babymetal songs. But you know they released a new song with bloodywood 4 days ago and it's epic. you need to check the theme out
⚡ 💕 🍑 / 🐎💥 'Divine Attack - Shingeki' was the first of five singles from the 10 track concept album 'THE OTHER ONE'. Each of the 10 songs explores a different alternate universe in the overall Metalverse. Music and arrangement for this song are by MEGMETAL (Wada Megumi) and Hayato Yamamoto. MEGMETAL was also heavily involved in the 'Metal Galaxy' album. Lyrics for this song are by Su-metal. She's a promising young songwriter from Hiroshima. : ) BTW, Every show since 2019 had masked Kamis, both Eastern and Western. The Eastern Kami band continued performing with BABYMETAL until early 2023.

Part of the Western Kami band performed together prior to joining Babymetal (and even for some time afterwards). Guitarists Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio and bassist Clint Tustin (who had to be replaced from time to time the last two years) played together in a Star Wars themed group called Galactic Empire. That might even be the reason for them to join Babymetal as they were supporting act for Babymetal for a few shows in 2018. During the song Meta Taro at the Dark Night Carnival show in 2018 Chris Kelly comes on stage (together with Joakim Brodén from Sabaton).
@@Abigirl_Reacts He was touring guitarist since 2022 and is permanent member since 2023 of the Metalcore band ERRA. I checked their tour schedule and it was colliding with the 2023 and 2024 Babymetal schedule. For the 2023 US tour and the summer festivals 2024 his replacement was Ryan Neff from Miss May I. But Ryan was also not available for the recent America tour of Babymetal so they hired Matt Deis from All That Remains, "the other" band of current Babymetal drummer Anthony Barone. It's all in the family...
Easiest way (for me) to see if it's East or West Kami band is to look at their arms & hands: Western Kami band has bigger arms & fingers. And they have tattoos.
To play Trombone for Babymetal would be awesome! This song's MV was the first (or one of the first) things after their hiatus, saying we are still here and more is coming. Shorter, compact song, whetting your appetite for more.
Well originally Koba planned to add lyrics and even composition by the girls much earlier. But this had the CD Markt in mind where lyrics and composer earned much more. With the rise of streaming, DVDs and BluRays, they were able to adjust the distribution more to the performers. The Background was simply he wanted to be sure that the girls would get a fair share, sinnce they always contribuzed to the songs. But this would have meant , that it would no longer be a production of the whole team. We must not forget one factor Babymetal are the girls and every other contract is based on them, but since April 2023 Babymetal is running under a completly different contract and sincevthis time ,they only use the Kami Band West and as we see the girls interact with the Kami Band West much more. Moa now tries to integrate them even in her jokes. Like she tried to give Sus Mic to Matt. And if we consider how much Babymetal travels nowadays compared to the old Babymetal, it is insane. Officially they are not allowed to post when they play with Babymetal, they are allowed to have their own gigs, but there are breaker clauses. The original contracts were much more flexible and we must not forget that the old Kami Band is about 10 years older than the Kami Band West. They had additionally their own projects and they had a significant internal turnover rate, while the Kami Band West is extremly stativ since they are under their new contracts. They are not alwa s together. Like their Collab projects seem to be by default only Operate without the Kami Band. But it is flexible. If we look at ratatata, the Video production use Electric Callboy, FoxFest the Kamis and when both groups were on location it only depended on the setlist Electric Callboy in the EC Setlist and the Kami Band West in the Babymetal Setlists.
Nice reaction. I love this song so much. Both Kami Bands have been wearing masks since 2019, but since this PIA Arena show, only Kami Band West has been playing with BABYMETAL. Kami Band East has kind of retired, taking care of their work outside of BABYMETAL.
The Masks were not connected by the Kami Band West, but the Jami Band West probably brought the idea, the three Guitarists cam from a Star Wars revival Band, where they wore by default masks. And this was obviously all that Anthony Barone needed to accept tha masks. While the old Kamis didn't like the idea, while the Kami Band west wanted the ondurance that they don't have to wear Corpse paint. And they ate much more interested to ìnteract with the girls directly. So they startedvto great the girls. And they were extremly impressed by the Babymetal staff.
Kami band japan juga memakai topeng saat live di Glastonbury, at the forum, osaka, 10 budokan 2021, dan babymetal begins the other one live makuhari messe 2023, serta ada versi live konser dimana kamiband japan dan kamiU,s bermain bersama di legend metal galaxy di lagu IDZ & RoR
Nice reaction again. Regarding the Kami Band, you´re not 100% accurate with the mask thing, but 98% 😉 From 2019 on, I believe, all members of the Kami Band wear masks, including the Kami Band (East). Prime example would be the 10 Budokan shows. The eastern Kami Band slowly phased out playing the live performances though, and since January 2023 ("BABYMETAL Begins") the eastern Kamis weren´t seen playing live performances anymore 😪 But there´s one very distinctive feat that will show you if the eastern Kami Band is playing: watch the bass player. If it is a HUGE bass with 6 strings, dark red and white colour scheme, it is the eastern Kami Band playing 😉 The bassists of the western Kami Band never play a 6 string bass, only BOH, the bald madman, plays a 6 string bass😁 I believe Matt Deis (the newest Kami Band member) plays a 5 string, Clint Tustin and Ryan Neff played 5 string basses, too.
Both West and East Kami wear masks. But last time East Kami played with Babymetal was 2023 at Makuhari Messe (its earlier than Pia arena). Looks like they completely switch to West Kami now. I like jazzy style of East Kami. West Kami more classical rock style.
Yes, the Eastern Kami Band has performed by themselves, called the Kari band in bars/clubs. Babymetal has performed without them on Japanese TV. Are you picking up what I'm implying?
Loved it! I cannot honestly say that if i have ever herd a song from Babymetal that i don't like? They never ever fail to impress me they are one of my favourite bands so talented would love to here a bit more from the Kami band because when they rip they are FIRE.Loved your reaction Abi.❤
Abigirl, nice reaction. You really need to react to Bloodywood ft Babymetal.Bekhauf it is called. thanks for the reaction, always great to see you enjoying Babymetal.
RE: your observation/speculation that "Babymetal and Kami Band need each other" .... here's my own personal 2¢, ymmv: while kami band are really just "hired guns", i feel like they were/are essential to allowing Babymetal to gain acceptance/legitimacy from a large section of the metal community. i feel like that without having the Kami Band tour with them, they would've been a passing fad and then quickly forgotten (at least for western audiences ; things may be different in Japan). don't get me wrong -- the ladies certainly "got the goods", so to speak; but metal fans can be a fickle and brutal bunch. and _even with_ the Kami band, many old-heads still won't budge (even when they give credit to the Band). but again, that's just one rando's take.
After the passing of the guitarist from the og kami band. The "western" kami band is the full time band. The musicians are considered session or gig players. The masks allow for the changing of musicians as needed without any impact. Again, Babymetal is the girls and that's it. Barrone has toured with babymetal on drums for a while but is also the drummer for a successful band on his own. It's the same with the band "Ghost", it's about the singer and the production/music. The band members anonymity allows the changing of members without drama.
The eastern Kamis changed members around, and the Western kamis wore masks in Galactic empire before Babymetal, so its more than likely they felt comfortable in them.
@Ryujin170 Guitarist Chris Kelly thought it was funny when some of his fans criticized him for playing with a "gimmicky" group like BABYMETAL, when his other main gig was with a Star Wars themed metal band. : )

PIA Arena typically doesn't get blocked. The new Legend 43 concert being uploaded now doesn't seem to be blocked either. All of the Kami band started wearing masks in 2019. "I want you to give me your life" should be "dedicate your life to it" or "dedicate your heart to it". FTFG translations are spotty in accuracy.
@Ryujin170 So very sorry I stepped on your toes, I'm so sorry. I'll get back into my cave. Didn't you understand that this was MY opinion? I said "I prefer" meaning, my opinion! BABYMETAL "fans" are so sensitive.
Did you actualy read my reply. Not once did i say you couldn't have an opinion or a favourite. You called them the real kami band. I explained to you that there is no not real kami band and reminded you of Leda. Why are you getting so hysterical? and why put the word "fans" in quotes? Are you not a fan yourself?
@Ryujin170 :) Babymetal "fans" tends to be somewhat intense and weird. I love the group since the early days or at least since 2013 (Megitsune) and I've been "The One" member since the beginning and seen them live more than I have fingers, first time in 2014 in London. I don't like the hysterical almost religious fans that praise them whatever they do...those fans disgust me. Have you heard Ohmura solo or the Kari Band with Maeta, BoH, Mikio? They are real musicians and to me they are the best!
@@schelin1447 Yes, I have heard them, they're absolutely amazing, I have no problem with anymone prefering them or any opinion about Babymetal at all, as long as it's not spreading a misconception or gaslighting about them. @Abigirl_Reacts It's fine, it's just that you put a lot of emphasis on things like these sometimes which in the end, it's not the most important thing to see or understand about a particular song, or performance.
Thank you for clarifying! I get a lot of info from different people so I often mix it all up!

Rejoicing 😍
Su-Metal, the lyricist of this song, explained in an interview the reason why she chose a phrase "(Time to) go your way" in stead of "go our way" whereas it seems to me that this song is a kind of call to build up grit of BABYMETAL themselves and their followers after their hiatus.

@@lencooke944 Thank you, but you praise me too much. I am now about to be a flattered old man.
I really wish they would perform this song on their last tour. You would think they would perform it more as Su actually wrote the lyric and should be very proud of it. It would be a great crowd energizer (not that they need it)
This song would be perfect opener or just another great song to get crowd interaction. 🤘🦊🤘
Agreed! It needs more exposure considering Su wrote it!
Babymetal is the three girls. Kami band is the band who support Babymetal for live shows, and it could be anyone not specific.
if you play for Babymetal shows then there are rules and requirements to follow. So far I'm very satisfied who ever played in the Kami band, they deserved so much credit for the talent
They're great!
Both Kami band have worn masks since the Metal Galaxy world tour in 2019-2020. The last time the Eastern Kami band played with Babymetal was the Babymetal Returns concerts on January 28th-29th 2023. After that the Western Kami band became the band going forward up until the present.
Got it!
On the Kami Band:
*Before 2019:* Kami East only - *_White Face Paint_*
*2019:* Kami West was added. *_BOTH_* Kami East *_AND_* West wore masks.
*2023, Jan:* Babymetal Returns concert - last show Kami East played.
*2023, Apr:* Starting from the Pia Arena MM (Babymetal Begins) show, Kami West became Babymetal’s sole backing band.
How to tell them apart:
1). Easiest way - Hairy arms, heavy forearm tattoos, and stockier build = West.
2). You can also recognize the guitars commonly used by each musicians, example:
East - Takayoshi’s Hot pink glam glitter guitar, Boh’s 6-string bass
West - Chris’ hot purple glam guitar, CJ’s tiger stripped guitar.
But, they do swap guitars mid-show for some songs.
Hope that helps! 🤘🦊
They should sing it more often, it was so good!

She and Babymetal are on a new path and we can follow them..... or not.
I've never heard this referred to as Su's attack!

Why was Clint repeatedly replaced?
I'll keep an eye out for bigger arms. Or two 👀
To play Trombone for Babymetal would be awesome! This song's MV was the first (or one of the first) things after their hiatus, saying we are still here and more is coming. Shorter, compact song, whetting your appetite for more.
I've yet to watch the mv!
I'm always happy when I go into RUclips and the first video is a reaction from you to Babymetal, thank you Abi-Metal 😊

Thanks for taking the time to write your insightful comment! ^_^

Nice reaction again. Regarding the Kami Band, you´re not 100% accurate with the mask thing, but 98% 😉 From 2019 on, I believe, all members of the Kami Band wear masks, including the Kami Band (East). Prime example would be the 10 Budokan shows. The eastern Kami Band slowly phased out playing the live performances though, and since January 2023 ("BABYMETAL Begins") the eastern Kamis weren´t seen playing live performances anymore 😪
But there´s one very distinctive feat that will show you if the eastern Kami Band is playing: watch the bass player.
That's good to know about the bassist, I'll keep an eye out for the string count! ^_^
A little trivia: Su wrote the lyrics to this one.

Both West and East Kami wear masks. But last time East Kami played with Babymetal was 2023 at Makuhari Messe (its earlier than Pia arena). Looks like they completely switch to West Kami now.

Masks are just the current era. Also happens to be mostly western Kami but I think there have been a few shows with original Kami band in masks.
Every show since 2019 had masked Kamis, both Eastern and Western.
That makes sense, ty!
RE: your observation/speculation that "Babymetal and Kami Band need each other" ....
here's my own personal 2¢, ymmv:
while kami band are really just "hired guns", i feel like they were/are essential to allowing Babymetal to gain acceptance/legitimacy from a large section of the metal community. i feel like that without having the Kami Band tour with them, they would've been a passing fad and then quickly forgotten (at least for western audiences ; things may be different in Japan). don't get me wrong -- the ladies certainly "got the goods", so to speak; but metal fans can be a fickle and brutal bunch. and _even with_ the Kami band, many old-heads still won't budge (even when they give credit to the Band).
but again, that's just one rando's take.
I see your point for sure!
One of my favourites, thanks
Mine too!
Guitarist Mikio Fujioka passed away in early 2018.
The Eastern Kami band continued performing with BABYMETAL until early 2023.
That's five years.

It seems to be better now but for me, for some reason I was always blocked.

What made you think of that?
This is SU's song, she wrote the lyrics! And I prefer the real Kami Band: BoH, Mikio, Hideki and Ohmura (my opinion of the real Kami Band)
All kamis are real kamis. There is no not real kami band. Also Leda played many concerts with the eastern kamis.
Again, it's was only about the word 'real'. If i'm a "fan" instead of a fan, for saying all kamis are real (meaning legitimate) kamis, then i'm OK being one :)
Idk how many times we have to repeat the same thing over and over again concerning the Kami Band.
I get told so much information from hundreds of comments on every baby metal video that it all gets mixed up. That's not so hard to believe is it?

It's fine, it's just that you put a lot of emphasis on things like these sometimes which in the end, it's not the most important thing to see or understand about a particular song, or performance.
Some of these questions could easily be answered by watching one of the latest Babymetal Guide.
For the Kami Band, If Yui is there, East.
Su and Moa = both but mostly West.
If Momo is there, West.
But if I put emphasis on something it just means I'm genuinely curious is all! I don't think that's a bad thing. Anyway, thanks for your input.
