_Pippo pappo pippo pappo piii!!_ 🦊🤘🔥
Actually Chigau was the first title name fans gave to this song before knowing the original title.

At 3:37, it begins with a choreography that makes us think of 'worries' and at 8:57, ends with the same choreography pose. Other choreography also evokes feelings of 'anguish' 'confusion', and 'anxiety' or something. The lyrics 'Rarara...', 'Pippo pappo pi', and 'Pa ri ra pa ri ra fu', they are all scats (or chorus), so they don't have any meaning in Japanese. The lyrics repeat the word ' chigau' (different) that you hummed many times. And I think those elements make it feel like 'bright confusion' or even madness. Well, I guess the first half of the song is cheerful confusion with light Ska rythum, and the second half is serious screaming of mind anxiety with heavy, dark metal tone. I really love it. Certainly 'yabai' (yavai) one. Thank you from Japan!

Top 3 Babymetal song for me!!

In the intro there are four different solos of each of the band members: The West Kami Band members are Chris Kelly guitar, C.J. Masciantonio guitar, Clint Tustin bass (he plays the bass almost like a guitar; he's primarly a guitarist) and Anthony Barone drums. Nice reaction.

    Nice one, thanks!
"YAVA!" is one of my favorite songs. For some reason, the ska mixed with metal totally works for me. "YAVA!" comes from "yaba" or "yabai" meaning "dangerous" or "awful" but here is used more like the expression "Oh, no!". It was composed by... yes, my favorite BABYMETAL songwriter: Norikazu Nakayama (aka Norimetal).
Although the lyrics are pretty much obscure, I believe that the song is about being, acting and, most important, being perceived as "different" in a culture where not looking and acting like everyone expects is seen as weird (in a bad way). The word "chigau" (yes, they say it a lot, haha...) means "different" and also "wrong". And saying it with the repeated hand gesture they do in front of the face means that something is not acceptable. So, it could be related to their own history, not being a "normal" or "usual" band at all and not doing things the way everyone else does.
This was the very first performance of "YAVA!" for Momometal and also for the western set of the Kami Band... and also for me! And I was stoked about that.
And remember: always expect the unexpected! 😁

'YAVA!' is one of my favorite tracks from the Metal Resistance album.
And some of my favorite BABYMETAL choreography.
There are groups that have spent years trying to make sludgy ska metal sound good, and BABYMETAL pulls it off the first time.
I would have done a whole album like that, but they moved on to the next thing. : )
Even with the translation it's hard to know exactly what this song is about.
As Du-Metal says on his translation page, "The meaning of the lyrics is vague, obscure & ambiguous."
Something about making choices when things seem similar.
Or insisting that differences, even small ones, are important and make things vital and interesting.
This song was written by some of the same folks involved with 'Megitsune', etc.

Haha nice one! Love this song! A lot of its “smart-ass-ness” can get lost in translation too, which is unfortunate.
Also, you are initially correct, there were 2 guitar solos, followed by a bass, then drums:
Chris Kelly: 1st solo, purple glam guitar.
CJ Masciantonio: 2nd solo, tiger stripe guitar.
    Clint Tustin: 3rd solo, bass.
    Anthony Barone: 4th solo, drums.
The “Pippo Pappo Pi” part is akin to a confused robot making robot noises as it “fails to processes” something that is different. Think confused R2D2, lol. You can also tell from their choreography in that moment.
Babymetal is making fun of those who can’t accept something different, such as the early Babymetal haters 😂.
I think “Yava!” is an amazing title, the emphasis wasn’t on being different, rather, poking fun one’s inability to accept something different. They get confused, “pippo pappo pi”, and don’t know what to do about it, “Yava!”, OH NO! 😂

Thank you for reacting to this song.

in my eyes this song is kinda a fun way of making fun of babymetal haters lol. "they're different, oh no!" "I can't stop caring about it, what should I do?" sounds like someone is butthurt that babymetal broke the mold and are a unique type of metal and they can't stand something being out of the norm🤘🦊

I've always thought that being a "hater" of something kinda strange. If you don't like something, then fair enough, but to seek out others that do like that something and tell them you hate it is weird.
It's like catching the train into the city, getting off at your stop, and seeing an ad for guitar lessons.
You take down the number, call the number, and then scream at them. I DONT WANT GUITAR LESSONS, I HATE THE GUITAR.
