I was very lucky to have been in Brixton, London in 2019 the first time they played this live outside of Japan. The crowd went wild when the heartbeats started sounding. Su said she was amazed everybody there knew the song already since it had never been released in any form outside of japan at that time. The Kami Band (East and West) have been wearing masks since 2019. You can tell them apart by the different guitars they use ... and if it is a concert after January 2023 (as this was - Legend MM was March 2024) it will be the Kami Band of the West (the American musicians). Yes Moa and Momo were providing backing vocals, I'm surprised you didn't really get that.

This year I saw BABYMETAL at Greenfield Festival in the Swiss alps and in Toulouse in France. Next year will be Zurich.. and I'll probably add on some other gigs too like London, but still planning there 🤘🦊

In my opinion this song is just perfection and it's probably their best song objectively (once you put aside your preferences and biases). I did get to see this very same performance in Yokohama earlier this year. And I'm very happy about that. I'm not in the US so, not going to see them any time soon. However... I have tickets for three dates of their first arena tour next May in Europe, including the tour finale at The O2 in London. And that's quite something. 😊 🤘🦊

Actually, most of their songs are the most 'something' when you think about it. It's a very dynamic catalogue of music they have, reminiscent of a group like the Beatles or early Black Sabbath. All killer, no filler.
I did just see them in Hollywood, FL. Big fun!! However, a full production show in Japan is a bucket list item!! Maybe I could be so lucky to have one coincide with my first visit there next year!
If you are unsure about which band is playing, if you see Babymetal in these outfits or the new ones with the rainbow reflections on the skirts it is the Western Kami band. As mentioned by Killerpixel11 the Eastern Kami band last played in early 2023 and at the time they had the all black and silver outfits.
Syncopation has very classic metal song lyrics, basically, it's all about how you feel light and happy when you're in love. No kidding. And I love this song so much. So if you total up the members of kamibands, if you combine them, there are approximately 11 players, not including the musicians in the studio because kamibands, both from Japan and the West, are not directly involved in making songs. The last time Kamiband Japan played with Babymetal in 2023 was only a concert in Japan at Makuhari Messe, to be precise, it was an announcement of the return of Babymetal who had been on hiatus in 2021 and returned in 2023, the reason they went on hiatus was probably because the members of Babymetal and their Avengers wanted to continue their education that they had left behind.
It is always fun watching your Babymetal reactions. I am not seeing them on this tour because they didn't come anywhere near me this time. It kind of sucks because I'm pretty sure its gonna be a couple years before they are in the US again. I mean they are gonna need some time for themselves to recharge and work on new music. I love this song, it always gets me in a good mood (like a lot of BM songs). I'll be seeing them in a pretty huge arena in Germany next year and have (albeit small) hopes they'll bring the big Japan show with them.
Nice one Abi-metal! This is quite an underrated song, and frankly, one of my favorites! It's about the feeling of anxiousness due to an intense love. Ultimately, the protagonist can't hold it in anymore, so they let the feeling gush out! Only with Babymetal do you see circle pits to a love song 🤣. Since Apr 2023, Kami West has been the _ONLY_ band backing Babymetal. Chris Kelly (left stage) typically has the hot purple glitter guitar (or sometimes a very dark purple/black glitter guitar). CJ typically uses a dark tiger-striped patterned guitar (right stage). You can also tell by a generally stockier "American" build, arm hair, and arm tattoos. Also, Moa and Momo are definitely singing in this one! 🤘🦊

It does not sound obsolete anymore, at all. That is one of the magics they have incorporating premeditated artistry with contemporary physical moves. I witnessed this very performance at the venue. Once the heartbeat intro got started, my heartbeat went faster and faster. And then the song started just before my heart was overheated to stop 😄 . Our Kami Band, Chris (g), CJ (g), Anthony (d), Clint (b), did a good job again with their amazing virtuosity.

Still annoys me that it's impossible to get a decent version of this song on the streaming services I use. As for the Kami band, this is the "western" iteration, as the Japanese Kami band pretty much doesn't exist anymore. It's not confirmed (as nothing with BabyMetal really ever tends to be) but they're all quite involved with their own projects and haven't played with BM since early 2023. I reckon they're gonna have to find a more permanent solution, at one point or another, as the western members are also all in bands of their own, which will inevitably cause scheduling hell.

As for the Kami band, this is the "western" iteration, as the Japanese Kami band pretty much doesn't exist anymore. It's not confirmed (as nothing with BabyMetal really ever tends to be) but they're all quite involved with their own projects and haven't played with BM since early 2023.
I reckon they're gonna have to find a more permanent solution, at one point or another, as the western members are also all in bands of their own, which will inevitably cause scheduling hell.
