    I reached out to someone in the Office of Small Businesses in HHS and asked her who buys what I'm selling (I explained this a bit). She said, "We have 13 different buying activities buying different products and services. So it would be a challenge to just pick one organization. I would recommend you do some research on the various offices and determine where your company is aligned." What are the 13 different buying activities she's referring to? I tried to look this up but couldn't find more info. I am happy to do plenty of research but just need a bit more traction.

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  Год назад +2

      government projects certainly need project managers. You may be better off looking into subcontracting opportunities. For example, if a large business wins a big construction project, they'll need to subcontract out part of the job and they'll probably need project managers.

    How many different agencies are there when it comes o government contracting?

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  8 месяцев назад +1

      There are hundreds of different agencies and offices that issue contracts

  • @lifewithtashabae4846
    @lifewithtashabae4846 Год назад +1

    Another question is why don't the agencies just buy what they need themselves? Or is it mandatory to use small business/Companies ?

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  Год назад +2

      The agencies do buy what they need themselves. But if they can purchase it from a small business, they usually will. For example, say the agency needs administrative support. There are lots of small businesses that provide administrative support. So, the agency will purchase from a small business. The agencies have small business contracting goals which set how much of their contracting dollars should be awarded to small businesses.

    The POC is the "federal" specialist? Not part of the Small business program correct ? (2 different people)

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  Год назад +1

      Usually, the POC listed for a solicitation will be a person in the Contracting Office, either a Contract Specialist or the Contracting Officer. Occasionally there will be exceptions. But government employees are always clear about their titles, so pay attention to their title. For example, If their title is Program Manager, you'll know they are in the program office, but if their title is Contracting Officer, you'll know they're in the contracting office.
