My grandma has a house on BI and we always take the traditional ferry because we have our car with us - it is a long trip considering that my family and I live in Virginia but it's always worth it!!

Great video. I like both the high speed & traditional trips. Me and a friend kept a sailboat in Noank back in the mid to late 80's. Getting out on the Block Island ferry reminds me of those days on the sound - great fun. Block Island is an easy & manageable day trip. About 15 years ago my family took the ferry and easily toured the island in one day via rented bikes. Nice memories! I have a great nostalgic appreciation for all of CT so I like to watch your enthusiastic videos.

Thank you so much Jay! Wow that must have been fun cruising around in the 80’s. Such a great area. Listening to Van Halen or Def Leppard? 😁 I def have to explore block island further I seem to do the same path all of the time. Such a wonderful day trip for sure! Thanks for taking the time to share your story!

Traditional all the way for me, great Bloody Mary's and you are right, the M/V Block Island that you were on does remind me of a smaller cruise ship, minus the amenities. Rides so beautifully!

❤❤I went to Block Island when I was a little girl. Block Island was our summer vacation with my Ebneter family and my parents friends and our cousins and uncles and aunts. We either rented cottages and houses. I loved the beaches. I miss Block Island very very much. My younger brother goes there every summer with his wife and family my brother got married there too. My husband hates Block Island. I don’t know why. The only way I’ll get there would be my brother. But he rather take his family and friends and his stupid in-laws. I’ll always will remember the ferry’s.

If any of your subscribers want a great experience, if you're traveling toward the end of the day, I highly recommend taking the last ferry during a meteor shower season. Everyone just lays on the benches on the top deck quietly, and just gaze at the meteor showers in the starry sky while rocking back and forth on the waves. One of the most relaxing and unique experiences I've ever had.

I was a little needles too never made a trip like that alone but it was very easy the day I was there there was plenty of easy parking and a short safe walk to the boats. Thanks for watching :)
