The video says the display opens from the bottom up, but it opens to the LEFT to protect the cables from snapping. That was a costly mistake for me! Also, you can use diamond wire as an alternative for seperating the screen.
I did every step as the video told, checked if it worked. It worked and I got excited, but after I closed the screen it stopped working all of a sudden. Anyone got a similar problem? I tried unscrewing, and screwing everything back again, but it still did not work. I am disappointed, not even about the money I lost on it, but just for the fact that it worked for a while and then just stopped working.
Battery connector may have been loose when you thought it was fully seated. They are a little tricky to get aligned perfectly but you also must make sure when you have it aligned to push firmly down, might even have a very light "snap" feel to it when it connects down fully. If it wasn't fully seated, when you closed the case the flex cable moved a bit and dislodged the connection.
No they are a pain in the butt especially when you have to reuse the adhesive that held it down to the old screen. I've had some that didn't fit 100% exactly but were close enough to work.
This happens because apple doesn’t like people repairing their own devices & mostly iPhone repair shops so in the iOS 12 update they made it that all screen repairs have to be programmed with the serial number of the phone. This requires a special machine. It is called a EEPROM programmer. I repair iPhones a lot so I have the machine but you also have to keep in mind that if you do rip your front camera and replace it you will no longer have Face ID and True Tone will also be disabled. Everything is now programmed together which is why this is happening

If someone release this kind of software, that will be as a tweak for jailbroken devices only in my opinion.
what does the phone screen look like 3 months later
The video says the display opens from the bottom up, but it opens to the LEFT to protect the cables from snapping. That was a costly mistake for me! Also, you can use diamond wire as an alternative for seperating the screen.
Awesome Guide , I enjoyed ,, Thank you
I did every step as the video told, checked if it worked.
It cannot connect to wifi or mobile data...
Somehow you didn't reconnect the antenna inside. Make sure you put all the screws back.
anybody else having issues with the ear speaker portion? i feel like my iphone xs max is different than the ones shown....
No they are a pain in the butt especially when you have to reuse the adhesive that held it down to the old screen. I've had some that didn't fit 100% exactly but were close enough to work.
@@chevytruckjerry i upgraded to an iphone 14 pro max lmao happy customer
@@VM-eo2iw Nice! This will definitely be the last time I replace the screen. An upgrade like yours is long overdue!
Didn’t really show how to replace the screen though!
You mean the glass? Like remove the glass off the old frame?
good info
Always turn on the phone to check if it’s working properly *before* screwing the screen back into place.
thank you
How to repair PS4 controller
Yaqoob Yaqoob lots of tutorials out there. Pretty easy. What needs to be repaired?
@@daniel_960_Probably the the R2 button I'm guessing...that or a dead battery.

Thnk u ma'am
But the screen is still popping out not the same as original
I kept telling myself: “I don’t need a screen protector”
I dropped it on my living room floor from about ~5 feet and the screen is shattered.
Yo this just happened to me 😭😭😭
ya well at least you aren't here for a second time 😆😆😆..... ..... .... 🥲
@@Mark__ oof
thats called low IQ persistence.
Wow! Installation instructions!!! Thanks so much!!!
Why would True Tone not be functional anymore if your replacing it with an OEM screen
Everything is now programmed together which is why this is happening

at 3:59 she screw it even though the screen is not properly placed.
I should have watched this before I went to the store cause I didn’t know there were TRI WING SCREWS I NEEDED TO TAKE OUT
Yep I bought that screwdriver (tri-wing) I have two of them in case I lose one. After watching Richard meza I fix it and one other RUclipsr who have uploaded videos about repairing and rescreening iPhones I have all the necessary screwdrivers in order to work on iPhone 6 7 8 6 plus 7 plus and the 10x Max and the XR.
Seen how much it was to fix my crack and then instantly searched up a video on how to do this
Might be nice if you warned that the screws on the plates were different sizes….
This is not a XS max , why is the screen thick while it should be thin and why is there brackets? the original doesn't have brackets. With the brackets it will not close. I don't get it smh, I need one. Had to return it.
why the loss in true tone?
because each screen has a ID number. If they dont match with the phone's ID, they wont work. Same with newer batteries. I think its called DRM
@@pecoliky8793 you have to buy a gadget called a JC-1 screen data tool from either Amazon or ebay.this tool is used in conjunction with a desktop or laptop computer which has downloaded the latest software or firmware update for this tool.once you remove your old screen you need to attach that old screen to the tool to transfer the data from the old screen to the tool then after disconnecting your old screen attached the motherboard flex cable from the new screen to this tool now you'll be able to transfer using your computer the information you just took off your old screen onto the new screen this way you'll be able to initiate true tone on your phone once you put your screen back together and close everything up.
Its a pity you dont show anyone how to use a $20 true tone programmer, instead of showing this easy to do guide ! It's a lot harder than that also to open an iphone that has not been done before ! It would have been good to show Noobs how much adhesive is in there, instead of just promoting your own products which are not even needed ;)
Yup....I'm not gonna be able to do this
It’s not hard if you take your time, stay organized with the hardware and treat it gently.
Why does swapping the display makes you lose True Tone‽
Ikr why??
Calibrated with each individual screen, like the handshake used to be for TouchID. I advise people to have Apple do the replacement on the iPhone X and will for the XS and XS Max, too.
the screen is paired with the logic board from factory. my guess is. similar to older models 8, 8+ and X. data from the old screen has to be copied to the new. as of yet. such device does not exists for the xs max
you'll be fine true tone should work it just will act funny since the Stock display isn't there for it base its OG calibration data off of. Seeing as most of Apple's display even 3rd party ones are so similiar in nature u should be fine. Also theres this thing called Night shift might have heard of it. Yaaaaa it does the same thing Slight variance in the two features. But to the average even repairer they won't notice.
So u good mate.
TheReal _ist True Tone sense lights in the surrounding while Night shift is just turning the screen redder.
Huh, the replacement seems very simple.
iPhones are actually very easy to repair unlike other apple products
@@jcube7319 what they didn't tell you in this video is that if you don't use a particular gadget to restore true tone by transferring the data from your old screen to the new screen you won't be able to turn on true tone on the new screen from the keypad of your phone.
@@bassinbillRC5300 I'm late to the party, but they said it 22 seconds into the video :P

Did you ever get your phone fixed?
Wow I thought u would whole screen apart.
The replacement display costs more than it does to fix with Apple.

Actually the new iPhones are more drop resistant
No the new iPhone is fuck resistance....
Nah its still glass it will shatter
If its 1% stronger they will scream drop resistant because marketing
Same with their saphire camera lenses, it has so little saphire in it that its not any more scratch resistant than a normal piece of gorilla glass yet they'll scream wow look its saphire because again, marketing
@@Roshan_420 I remember when i could trow my old gorilla glass Samsung across the room with out a case and it wouldn't even get a scratch...SMH
@@Roshan_420 if it was actuall sapphire it would be much more brittle, which seeing as the current iphones have a camera bump, wouldn't really be good.
lods pahiram nga ng tools
Can we get to see how Apple bends the display to eliminate the chin? Maybe someone will have to sacrifice their display for this
Coming from a 6S Plus, I've replaced my screen 3 times. And each time has either an issue with the proximity sensor or the ambient light sensor. I can ONLY IMAGINE what issues are gonna be had with the FaceID module. This is beyond stupid to have this and they should stick with easier to repair items. Anyone else think of these things when needing to repair? No wonder iPhone 8's have seen an ENORMOUS jump in sales. Not even last year's iPhone X will save you.
Might as well go back to the Nokia 3310 if we want easier to repair items and beefier electronics lol
TrueTone is gone.
