I disagree. You are going to spend $600 for the screen, true tone won't work, have to take parts off old display, spend about $60 in tools, $10 for adhesive, $10 for the front camera connector. Yeah no thank you for when a display at Apple is $279 and a 90 day warranty. This repair is a total ripoff outside of Apple right now.
This guys are just flawless when it comes to customer service. 😮 I bought this display and the content of the package was once again flawless, the care about even the smallest detail was just spot on. In just one word, PERFECT! Congratulations ifixit! 🎉
Thank you So much! It worked! One issue - your link to the adhesive application is for battery adhesive, not screen adhesive. Otherwise worked perfectly, thanks so much!!!
To regain the True-Tone function, there is a small machine can write the original display serial number to the new screen, that your phone will recognize the new screen as original display. This method works with iPhone8/8 Plus/X/Xs/Xs Max and XR If your iPhone 7 Plus is experiencing bad touch after the display replacement, this machine can do the same procedure that makes everything works smoothly again
The part is paired to the motherboard so a new one won't work. There is am $80 Chinese tool that re pairs them tho. I also think its due to the one sensor being exposed to more light then normal and I've heard a theory that doing it in the dark would allow it to still work but I haven't tested this lol.
You wont lose true tone if you use a lcd data programmer to overwrite the serial number of the lcd. Or you use a copy screen But after iOS 12.3 iphone x and xs screens wont sometimes respond to the touch even with a original screen. So good luck with your “replacment”
Aint it about the authenticity problem? Sansung said that they will put some authenticity checking system, and if it's not authorized it will disable soft buttons and so on.
Seems similar to what they did a couple years back when people tried to switch out the fingerprint sensor. Seems like a petty way to piss off the right to repair folks.
Very interesting, I think I might've missed something regarding the earphone jack, does she say that you need to replace it with a new one, or does she use the existing one. It seemed odd that she took it off and put it back on without it interfering with the screen.
Since this is a tutorial, they're most likely just showing the rebuilding process using the same phone since it's probably still in perfect working condition.
I have a question in the screen you are selling for the iPhone XS is there any size difference in the vessels because that’s the only reason why I’m not buying a third party screen

Hi there. Do you know if there any rejection using different screens models? I mean, my phone model is XS MTE22J/A but the screens on sale on Amazon say they only support model starting from A1920 and etc. Is there any problem if i use it?
It’s best to use the correct model screen replacements as your phone for the best experience. Also I recommend using OEM screen replacements if possible, they will be longer term
Apple did the screen replacement on the xs and the new screen died 2 days later with the same green lighting as the original one. Is this fixable or a new phone is in order?
The sensor assembly on the back of the display is paired to your iPhone's logic board and must be transferred from your old display to your new one. The sensor assembly includes the flood illuminator, a part of the Face ID security feature. If it is damaged or replaced, Face ID will cease to function.
Run a strip of clear packaging tape over the screen. It will give the suction cup something to adhere to and will prevent bits of glass going everywhere as you remove the screen.
My iPhone XS just dropped and there are no hinges at the left side of screen as shown in 2:20 I'm dead scared as this was my 2nd iPhone XS in a span of 12 months and I cannot afford to tell this to my parents.
