I've been watching the market. I definitely want a photo, 2nd cam. The g9ii is too much for that now. New G9s are ~$900 and they're starting to package them with ~$350 battery grips. If that doesn't clear out the inventor the next step is a coupon to cut the price more. If not new, I'd consider used, but new at that price point dropping slightly more or it being packaged with something I need - SD cards, etc., - plus the 3 year warranty I think is my current bet.
Good combo right there. I have just bought the G9 again after selling mine over a year ago. I used to have the 100-300 and it has some damn fine range for the price and size. For anyone who wants a cheap and cheerful zoom to start, the 40-150 Olympus is a good stop gap and is extremely cheap used.
The moment birds allow us close enough to use an iPhone to take their portrait, bird photography will not be interesting enough anymore. Humans always reach further. I stopped shooting pictures in 2015 after a terrible life event. Does that make my Canon cameras of those days old? Do I need new gear? Of course not, photography is one field where glass can last you a lifetime, and bigger sensors equals larger files that require tons more cpu power to process. A 6 year 'old' camera is very modern compared to my set and I never felt unable to take the 'perfect' shot even before 2015. I await "Panasomnia: The Series" on this channel.
I sold this camera a few years ago. It's the only camera I miss.
Thank you for doing this video!!! I needed this 🙌
I hope you find happiness in your travels.

I lived with two humans in my youth who had pet birds. I prefer them at a 800mm distance. I like that. Panasomnia. Credit will be given.
