just did this on my partner tonight and it turned out AMAZING tysm for how thorough and clear you were!! for reference their hair was a level 6/7 and with wella color charm lightener for 30 mins with 20 volume dev it came out to a lovely golden blonde. i’ve had no prior experience highlighting hair before but i feel so confident now 🥰
Thanks for sharing and watching! If you are a professional stylist, be sure to check out our Simply Blonde lighteners the next time you make a color order. You'll love them!

Really great technique, I watched it a few days ago and have done it twice on customers- I customized it a little to suit each client's different style and both came out excellent! Thank you- great job
I dyed my hair a dark blonde to correct my over processed yellow home highlighted hair. I was disappointed with how the dark ash looked against my skin tone so I looked for a way I could lift it without colouring my whole hair again. I followed this video to the letter and I am so pleased with the results it made a dull and boring colour job,, into something more stylish and different. Brilliant tutorial thank you xx
I tried this and it cane out perfectly love this color placement and being a hairdresser for years I have been stuck in my ways so its exciting to try different things. Thank you so much for your video!🥰🥰🥰
@ Samantha, I absolutely agree! I am in love with this technique & placement! I am so happy to have learned this as my money pieces looked "nice" but did not have that seamless blend that I, as well as my client(s) sometimes desire. I mean, when they want stark contrast, i got it, but this takes my "pop of color" to a whole new level, creating a gorgeous, well blended, and best of all balanced look. Thank you Mirella and Kenra! P.S. thank you Kenra for the whole Platinum line, but especially the blow dry spray...what a time saver!
Greetings Kenra from the UK. Today I just discovered your channel. As an ex stylist, I still love watching hairdressing tutorials and keeping up to date with the industry. I must say after watching some of your videos, they're so easy to learn from. The training is clear, easy to follow. Great work Kenra! I'd love to see videos on achieving beachy waves with irons, blow out. Shaun, Nottingham, UK

Thanks hun, that was really good..!❣️ I do this, the first 3 like you, back to back baby light weaves .. Then fade off the same as as you go! ✨ But to see with the triangle teased out for the last to morph like that was really nice..! 👌✨ (I also appreciated the 90 degree tip to sit you foil in cleaner and flatter to prevent the other.! Thanks babe ❣️🙏🏻😊✨ 😊 🙏🏻❣️
Yay! Thank you, Rochelle! There are many ways to get to a similar result-- we hope you'll incorporate some of these techniques into your own. We appreciate you!
Great question, Lynn! The triangular sectioning can be adjusted to fit any part-- you would just want the top of the triangle to live where the client parts their hair and adjust the sides of the triangle to end near the outer edge of the eyebrows. Hope this helps!
Ugh. Wish I found this video sooner!! Cosmetology student here- Had a client yesterday who wanted this- would’ve been so helpful but now I know!! Also, where did you get the mannequin?!
Beautiful result. Perfectly blended and soft with just the right amount of pop. I do the sides as shown, but will definitely try out the triangle & sectioning for the $ piece. Thanks for sharing 💜
I'm new to learning about Money pieces. I love the way you take your time to show and explain everything. Thank you Sooooo Much! I will be watching this over and over again.
nice technique, I also use Kenra in my salon, but you used 10 V developer which give a 1 level lift, so by adding that onto the hair along with what you’re toning can lift that color .. 10N is being used as a deposit only but the developer is what I am questioning. 🙂
Hi, Melissa! 10vol with Kenra Color Permanent is meant for deposit only. For one level of lift, we recommend using 20vol Kenra Color Developer. We hope this helps!
Thank you for the vid and i love your end of vid explanation as well as showing your product selection displayed all together on the table. Well done , bravo and beautiful too boot! Yay for you Mirella.

Great tutorials, thank you! How would you charge for this in the salon, compared to other types of applications, ie: partials or whole head, etc? Would you do a 'per foil' price?
Hi there! This varies greatly from stylist to stylist, and the answer would depend on a lot of different factors, but the good news is that you can charge however you see fit! Specialty applications could absolutely warrant a different price, just like some people charge differently for different lengths of hair. We hope this helps!
Thank you so much, Antoneth! We really appreciate your kind words and are always happy to help. Make sure to get notified when more great videos get posted! bit.ly/KenraProfessionalSubscribe

Sigue de moda esta técnica aclarar solo el contorno?? Ya que tengo ganas de hacérmelo y me gustaría hacérmelo yo, crees que quedará bien con corte bob?
I have blond hair with a bit shadow root that went way too ashy untfortunately. I want to go chocolate brown for my whole head and use this money piece technique. Should i part my money pieces and dye everything else brown and then bleach the money piece ? And can i just dye the left out hair in between the weaves brown after bleaching? Also my hair is very light like a level 9 to 10 it just has a ashy tint i think a bleach wash will be enough? What do you recommend me? Thank you😅☺️
Hi Ze! Without being with you in person, it is sometimes difficult to make recommendations virtually, so we encourage having consultations with another professional stylist that can actually assess your current canvas etc. However, in theory, your plan sounds like a good one. If your hair is already at a 9 or 10, you won't need to do much lightening to the money pieces-- use a low volume of developer and make sure you are working with foils placed neatly for proper separation and saturation of the lightener. If you are going several levels darker on previously lightened hair, you may need to pre-fill the hair to replace missing pigment. If you want to avoid the additional step, you may want to stay at around a level 7 for the brown shade. Hope this helps!
I used your technique today and for my surprise it was easy and quick like in the video….. thank you for making this instructional process, so convenient in this fast times we are living and trying to make more money in the less time possible….
