Thomas & Percy learn about their important assignment Sir Topham Hatt gave them for the day, but weren't very pleased when they figured out is was gonna involve coal. Having trouble with coal in the past, they were heading for a bumpy and dirty ride, getting quite upset with each other along the way.
Hello m8s! Finally, after over a year of production, the Pilot is completed. I wanna thank you all for waiting so patiently for this. It's not easy getting a video done when you have to write, film, edit and compose music all by yourself AND going away for army service for 4 months.
Big thanks to all the talented VAs that helped bring this story to life with their voices. They did such an excellent job with their line deliveries. Also thanks to the script consultants & editors for opinions, advice & help finalizing the script.
I also want to apologies, if some of the mic qualities aren't consistent. Extra line recordings where 5 months apart from the 1st takes, and a lot changed during that time while I was away, so I had to finalize the lines in the best way I could. It could sound rough, but I hope it doesn't get too distracting for you.
Little note: This pilot wasn't intended to be this long. I would almost consider it a mini special in that case.^^ I do plan on making the future episodes shorter, ~15 min ±5 min. But I hope the story is still enjoyable with it's longer runtime.
Overall, this was a hard piece of work, but one I enjoyed dearly from start to finish. I hope to streamline the production a bit more for future videos, otherwise I'll end up uploading every half year at this rate. XD

I think this is genuinely one of the best Trainz videos I have seen in the last few years. I really really loved the music here, and I really enjoyed how grounded and down to earth this video is. It feels so genuine, and you can really see the passion in this. All of the VAs did really great in this too! If this is the pilot, then I am more than excited to see what else you have in store. Great job on this, you should really be proud!

17:21 YES. FINALLY! SOMEONE WROTE PERCY STANDING UP FOR HIMSELF. His dynamic with Thomas is very much give or take depending on the subject, and Percy never gets to stand his ground.
I definitely feel Percy's pain. Thomas definitely had it coming! Glad Edward was here to stop the row from getting too extreme.

That was an awesome pilot episode. Thomas and Percy acting like their old Series 2 selves. It was great to see them working together and Thomas was still the cheeky little engine we know and love. Percy really did have quite a temper on him during the story. I was surprised with how Edward interjected during the argument. I must congratulate #Lizproductions5784 and #Geebmachine for their performances of Thomas and Percy. They were astonishing 😀. The rest of the cast were amazing too, including Ceci♠️Asa for her role as Emily. This is the first time I have heard her voice act. Well done to everyone involved with this project. I look forward to seeing the next episode 😁.

I agree with you, Andrew Brenner wanted to adapt the pompouss prat that Gordon was in the past, but this adds mor layers to his personality, which are very appreciated

Now THIS is the Thomas and Percy story we all NEEDED but never got! I honestly think this is the best story ever made with the duo that I've seen! Very well made and a perfect story for a pilot episode!

You did the finest homages and quotes from the original series. Not gotta lie, the pilot episode is likely good, reminds of Thomas and Percy from rivalry to amends, and of course mentioning about coal with a flashback montage. [8:03] is a great scene you added. For that Giano. You did well.

Glad you enjoyed it m8😉 and I was thinking of making a tutorial video for reskinning in future. And don't worry, you don't need to install photoshop for trainz reskinning. There are plenty of other paint softwares you can get for free that do the trick, f.ex Krita. If you ask other reskinners, they'll have some options too😉👍

At least they were't pulling big balloons and Gordon didn't come to tell them that they're idiots.
Though Thomas did want to tell Percy that he's wrong in the 1st and 2nd strikes but didn't want to upset him.
Genuinely, this was the most fun I have had when watching a thomas production in a long time. I was smiling from ear to ear the entire time. This style of storytelling is so refreshing and extraordinary I just couldn’t ask for more in a thomas production, you tick off every check mark.
Everyone was in character perfectly, Thomas cheeky, got a big head, stubborn, and felt extremely genuine at the end. Percy was competent, lovable, had is his trademark anger explosion, and was very sympathetic.
Morals where really well handled, what the fat controller said was true, Edward words were well chosen, and even what percy said at the end felt so relatable, I’m sure everyone at one point was in his position.
The humor, oh gosh, where do I even begin. I guess the one that gave me the first big laugh was when Sir topham was telling thomas and percy about their special, just seeing their expressions slowly change from happy to disappointment was priceless. That montage of them with the coal was so clever, and then other small timed gags were great as well.
Camera work was remarkable, so many fun camera shots, so much life, Sodor felt so alive, nothing ever stood still.
The pacing was impeccable, it almost never slowed down and definitely works.
Incredible sound track, I loved hear the tfc theme in the beginning, i got chills when i heard the little engines music. that was definitely a highlight.
And Finally the humans, that is probably something I genuinely appreciate, you taking the time to give both thomas’ and percy’s crew screen time, they are not just hands for the engines. They are more than that.
Seriously this was a phenomenal pilot, every single thing in this was done so perfectly. I have not scene thomas and percy’s friendship felt so genuine, so real, since tale of the brave. You have made probably my favorite thomas production this year in terms of telling a really fun story about two, real friends, putting a test on their friendship. Absolutely incredible work you have made here, I really cannot wait to see more. I wish I could say more, but Just can’t get my words out, This comment will never be enough to say how much I genuinely loved this story.

This was such a refreshing take on Thomas storytelling... Although it's not really that different from the offical show at first glance. I do like how more in depth you go for character conflict and motives specifically with Thomas and Percy. i like seeing the two have differences with one another, really nice conflicts between the characters too. I do love the subtle detail of gordon being nice to Thomas due to their alliance, and Percy not liking him for just being his pompous self.
This is great story and if this is only the pilot, i can't wait to see more. Well done man this was worth the wait!

Not sure how to put it, but the music feels very... delicious, I suppose. Your music style for covering the themes across the eras of Thomas' time on TV is arguably one of the most addictive (in a good way) and wholesome renditions to be heard out of the fandom! The TATMR music is very much appreciated, by the way, though that intro is also just awesome!
Everything else is by no means bad; I can see where you were going casting a female voice for Percy to resemble his TATMR voice - which the VA for Thomas was surprisingly accurate in that regard as well!
It's all just so charming and satisfying, and we're all here for it!

@@aliciashepherd8912 I ended up topping my pizza with a little bit of a few things: Mushroom, green bell pepper, pepperoni & sausage.
Oh, and some red pepper flakes & parmesan sprinkled on top. As for drinks, I add lemon & pomegranate juice to water with ice cubes, a bit like a lemonade almost. It was very delicious!

This is astounding for a pilot! it really is a perfect introduction to the island and its fun cast of characters. I LOVE the banter that Thomas and Percy have throughout this, as well as all the little callbacks and background voices we hear! Your music score is top tier stuff, I adore the motifs and cues sprinkled throughout each piece! The sound design is also worthy of praise, because holy cow, the little sound details you add captivate me. Overall, a fantastic video, I look forward to seeing more from you, keep up the amazing work!
Thank you! I treated this pilot like as if it would be someone's first look into Thomas/ a new series in general. Foe the SFX, I tried mixing them so that it feels as real and realistic as possible, like as if you're in the scene. And music wise, found a way to make the music company the story, so it uses all sorts of key motifs & leitmotifs😁

Behold Episode 1: "Rosie's Winter-Express" and it's very lines I came up with as my first adaptation story which I'll let others (such as NWR1991, TARDIS9, ShunterProductions,
Carson's Video Workshop, etc.) adapt: The Island of Sodor was covered in heavy snow and it looked majestic. The engines had to be careful to avoid accidents when the tracks are icy. Rosie was being very careful when puffing on her runs especially when taking her coaches Veronica and Dexter as they take passengers on their local runs on the island. When Veronica first arrived on Sodor and Dexter was finally restored, after the Harwick School was rebuilt, and became Rosie’s official coaches years ago, Rosie’s first run later eventually backfired in the end. And it was like this *(Flashback: January 1983). At sunrise, Rosie arrived at the steam works where Dexter was fully restored. To her amazement, she could see that there was another coach next to Dexter. Sir Charles Topham Hatt was there waiting for Rosie. “Rosie, this is Veronica and Dexter. Consider these your reward for your hard work since you arrived on Sodor as your very own coaches permanently where you’ll pull passengers.” He congratulated. “Hello Rosie,” Greeted Veronica. “You happen to be red as… as… Cherries. You’re red as cherries.” Veronica always means well and can find herself getting into the fun as she is very optimistic and also, she is able to keep other engines and coaches in working order. “Charming,” Agreed Sir Charles, clearing his throat. “*(Clears his throat) Now then you three, I need you to take the Railway Society and Railway Inspectors from Vicarstown to Knapford where they’ll be able to observe our railway. Get yourselves spic and span before you get started.” “Yes sir.” Agreed Rosie. As soon as Rosie, Veronica, and Dexter were washed and polished, they set off for Vicarstown. They arrived and waited as Gordon soon arrived home with the Railway Society and Railway Inspectors on his return express from London. “Welcome home Gordon.” Greeted Rosie. “I have very own coaches, Veronica and Dexter.” “Well done. Now Rosie, make sure you give these important passengers a smooth ride to Knapford and watch your speed. The tracks are very icy.” Advised Gordon. “Thanks for the warning Gordon.” Agreed Rosie. “My coaches and I will be very careful.” Once the important passengers switched trains, Rosie wheeshed steam *(wheeshing steam) and then departed with Veronica and Dexter behind her *(Rosie departs with her coaches). Rosie puffed happily and carefully on the icy tracks through the winter-countryside. “This is just like back when I started on Sodor long ago.” Smiled Dexter. “Well, the snow is white and shiny as clouds Rosie.” Added Veronica. “I agree with you.” Replied Rosie passing Donald and Douglas clearing the snow back-to-back. The Railway-Society happily sang their praises to Rosie and her performance that the Railway Inspectors jotted down their positive reviews about it. When Rosie puffed over Gordon’s Hill and slid down, Veronica called out. “Apply your brakes Rosie, we don’t want an accident.” She reminded, and Rosie applied her brakes and her sandbox shot sand for safe traction and smooth-sailing. Rosie arrived 10 minutes early at Knapford Station where Sir Charles was waiting *(Rosie, Veronica, and Dexter idles into the station). Once the inspectors and the society disembarked Veronica and Dexter, they turned to Rosie. “That was one of the best winter runs I’ve ever rode on Rosie.” Said one of the inspectors. “Your passenger skills are very impressive.” “Indeed.” Agreed Sir Charles. “Therefore, you shall be used more often than shunting at Vicarstown as you are a really useful engine.” “Thank you sir.” Smiled Rosie. “But who will shunt at Vicarstown in my place?” “I bought a shunter diesel from the mainland who will take your spot from now on and will be arriving tomorrow.” Reassured Sir Charles. “Plus, you are to take Raspberry Syrup and Red-Jelly, with your next passengers tomorrow, from Knapford Harbor to the ice cream factory.” “You can rely on us sir.” Agreed Rosie. After Sir Charles, The Railway Society and Inspectors boarded Isabel, Dulcie, Alice, and Mirabel on William’s passenger train bound for Ballaswein, Rosie become excited. “You hear that Veronica and Dexter? We’ll be taking a mixed-train tomorrow.” She said. “Just remember what Gordon said to take your speed at a steady-pace as you did today.” Reminded Dexter. “I will,” Said Rosie. “Leave this to me.”
The next morning, Rosie and her coaches were at Knapford yards talking to Richard about her recent passenger run. “Rosie, your run with the Society and Inspectors on your coaches was splendiferous.” The green engine praised. “Thanks Richard.” Rosie replied. Just then, they saw a shunter-diesel they’ve never seen before. The diesel was the same size as Philip, painted emerald like Emily, and looked similar to Mavis but with four wheels as she stopped next to the engines to be re-fueled. “Hello there.” Greeted Rosie. “You must be the new diesel?” “I am.” The diesel smiled. “I’m Caden, I just arrived this morning on the ship.” “I’m Rosie.” Rosie replied. “And I’m Richard.” Richard added. “Are you going to work at Vicarstown?” “I am,” Caden said. “But I’m taking over for Phillip while he’s having his tune up. I’ll get the Raspberry Tankers ready for you.” “Those freight cars are very naughty.” Warned Richard. “So be careful.” “Right.” Agreed Caden, and she rolled off. At Knapford, Rosie and her coaches waited when Caden shunted 10 Raspberry cars behind but accidently forgot to take the brake-van as no one noticed. Once the Sodor Rangers boarded, the conductor blew his whistle and Rosie pulled her mixed-train out of the station. Rosie began to pick up her pace as she raced up Gordon’s Hill to finish early.
Then there was trouble. The tankers’ weight pushed Dexter, Veronica, and Rosie down the hill and the train went as fast as a rocket as the tracks were too icy. “Brakes driver, brakes.” Tooted Rosie in alarm. The driver applied the brakes and the sand-box to slow down, but there wasn’t any sand and the brakes didn’t help on the ice as Rosie and her train slid in high-speed on the ice racing through Maron station passing Thomas who was shocked. “Whoa, Cinders and Ashes.” He gasped sharply. Rosie turned onto the wrong track towards the Sodor Airport. At the airport, Harvey and Rocky were performing maintenance on the station and the workmen were about to open paint cans which were on the same track as Rosie. Suddenly, Rosie and her mixed train raced in and hit the paint cans hard *(Rosie hits the flatcars and red paint and Raspberry spilled everywhere).
Luckily, no one was hurt. But Rocky, Harvey, Rosie, Veronica, and Dexter were covered from top to faces to wheels in Red-Paint covered in Raspberry syrup. Worst of all, was that the paint and syrup had slipped into their engines leaving them out of commission and the tracks were all blocked. James arrived with supplies when he saw the mess and thought it was very funny. “Good heavens,” He chortled. “You seemed redder than me.” The engines, the coaches, and the crane felt silly. One of the workmen called for help. Soon Flynn and Belle arrived with crane cars to clear the mess. Sir Charles was on board and inspected everything. He then spoke to Rosie. “The accident wasn’t your fault,” He reassured kindly. “You and your coaches tried to slow down those cars as they were heavy while the tracks are icy. I’m afraid you and the others will have to be restored at the Steamworks. The other engines will take your passengers until you return.” “Thank you sir.” Said Rosie. It took a long time to get the paint and syrup rinsed out of Rocky’s, Harvey’s, and Rosie’s engines while they were being cleaned. Although Veronica and Dexter were cleaned and continued to take passengers, they missed Rosie. When Thomas was taking Veronica and Dexter, while Annie and Clarabel were being repainted, he was kind to them. “Thomas, thank you for taking us today.” Said Dexter. “But we miss Rosie very much,” Added Veronica. “It isn’t the same.” “Don’t worry you two,” Reassured Thomas. “Rosie will have you back once she is restored. I can guarantee it.” When Rosie, along with Harvey and Rocky, were restored, she was happy to be back with both Veronica and Dexter and the three friends continue taking passengers as well as freight cars where Rosie is more careful. *(Flashback ends) So there you are, Rosie and her coaches Veronica and Dexter are a good team.
For the 2nd Episode: "Emily, Boco, and the Boat-Train Race" where Boco and Emily both share the Boat-Train, while Bear and Richard are being repaired after an accident double-heading with the Flying-Kipper, where the two friends would each bring the Boat-Train ahead of schedule at both Tidmouth and Knapford Harbors. Then Boco and Emily, who both pull the Boat-Train side-by-side on the next day, decide to have a race, as a friendly-competition, to see who is the fastest and the first to reach the ship at Tidmouth Harbor wins. Both Boco and Emily start the race at Vicarstown while they stop for re-fueling and pick up passengers at several stations on the way. At Knapford Station, Boco ends up with a leaky worn-out tank and has to stop while Emily stops and notices. Sir Topham Hatt kindly feels sorry for Boco and has Emily take Boco's coaches behind hers and continue on the way while Daisy takes Boco to the Dieselworks to be repaired. The next morning while Richard and Bear have returned, Boco arrives back at work, with the Express, and congratulates Emily, with Annie and Clarabel and the Mail-Train, for her victory while Sir Topham Hatt was then proud of Emily and Boco for taking the Boat-Train.
And lastly for the 3rd Episode: "Murdoch and Boco" about when Murdoch (after his arrival on Sodor) first met Boco and together they would handle the extra-freight together. After the extra-freight runs, Sir Topham Hatt assigns both Murdoch and Boco to take and share the Express, while Gordon and Henry are needed on the mainland and London with the extra-passenger runs. After Sir Topham Hatt leaves for home, Murdoch and Boco agrees to have a race between Knapford and Vicarstown and then back. The next morning, both Boco (at Platform 2 with Green-Express Coaches) and Murdoch (at Platform 1 with Red-Express Coaches) would then set off together and race past stations and other engines, over Gordon's hill and bridges and through tunnels at their maximum-speeds while neck-and-neck, with all the lines clear,. After arriving at Vicarstown 10 minutes early as a tie, the passengers would cheer for the two giants. After arriving back at Knapford Station, Sir Topham Hatt would congratulate his biggest engines, who thanks him and agrees, and reward them with sharing the express with the other engines.
Wow! What a fantastic episode of Thomas & Friends, Giano! I especially like the cute and playful dynamic between Thomas and Percy in this story, and how they sorted out their relationship in the end. The other engine characters were all great too, and how Thomas and Percy both called themselves “drips” at the end as a little reference to the story “Drip Tank” in the Railway Series’ 30th book “More About Thomas the Tank Engine” by Christopher Awdry. Will there be any more episodes of T&F: Thrills on Rails in the near future some day? Keep up the good work, my friend! 😉👍🚂🛤️

I already can't wait for more episodes, Thrills on Rails is just as great as Trampy Movies and The Stories of Sodor. The Gordon scene was amazing, very glad you kept his alliance with Thomas and I especially love how you kept Emily's series 7 personality. Really love what you did with Thomas and Percy's dynamic, it reminds me so much of the Railway Series back when they were more frenemies than besties like in the actual show.
I so love Percy in this story from his resentment towards Gordon to his outburst with Thomas (Star Billing Bastard had had it coming for SO long 🤣) I totally felt Percy's frustration, this is Percy at his most relatable since series 5. Also the kid voice you gave Percy totally works, it fit his personality perfectly. This Chip on the Shoulder Percy is something we need more of 🤣🤣🤣
Glad you've had Edward resolve their conflict instead of Toby for a change. Their reconciliation at the end actually felt very meaningful and heartwarming along with the Drip Tank reference.

Man, this was awesome. If this keeps up, i think this is going to be my new favourite fan series, especially since, what i just remembered, I'm actually going ro be in it a few times hopefully, but that's just a lot bit of the enjoyment in this. I really love Percy here, i couldn't help but laugh at quite a few of his scenes, as they were really funny. I also loved the music, it's nice to people do them themselves now nore often. Especially since even the music gets blocked, like half of Mavis M.'s Themes he uploaded are gone. So seeing something like this is very, very cool. And then the writing, now that was very, very great, on point i would say

This is genuinely the best piece of Thomas content, official or fanmade that I have EVER had the pleasure of viewing. Everything about it is phenomenal; the cinematography is engaging, the score is beautiful, the characters are written so well, and the voice acting is spot-on! I love how every character has a unique voice, differing from common tropes within the fandom (such as the whispery henry or the overly scouse james), it brings such a welcome change to the main cast. This feels more like Thomas than the entirety of the CGI series, and I wholeheartedly believe that if you presented this to most people, they would believe it was a genuine episode of an official series rather than non-profit fan work.
Throughout this episode, I was beaming from ear to ear with genuine happiness, rivalling my early years watching thomas as a kid, and a sense of nostalgia and pride I have never felt in fan content before.
For a pilot, this does an amazing job setting the tone for the rest of the series, and I cannot wait to watch this masterpiece unfold.
Amazing work done by everyone involved in this project, you should all be proud of the work you've done.

I will say for the pilot episode that was fantastic! I will say you did capture the classic character dynamic with Thomas and Percy from Season 5.
