I like to think that all of Edward’s troubles at Brendam Docks in this story motivated The Fat Controller to purchase a permanent harbor shunter, leading to the events of “Salty’s Secret”.
@@pokebreeder2517 A harbor and a dock are essentially the same thing. It's similar to how Americans label trucks as freight cars and vice versa for the UK. So in this case, they're the same thing, even though the narrator says it's different.
There's something about Edward and Toby I absolutely love yes people see them as the old grandpas of the fandom but they always show the other engines what they can do every time they tease them and make fun of them but they always manage to do the job in style.
It's the inspiration! Wilbert Awdrey tells of Edward being a sad engine who hasn't been out in a long time then gets his chance to come out again. The engine was named after his favourite brother. Then you have Toby who was inspired after a J70 he rode in real life at the Wisbech Tramway, a story he adapted into Toby and the Stout Gentleman. Both these engines are very closely inspired by Wilbert and their personalities are why they are a good duo.
Edward and Toby are certainly without question two of the most hard-working engines on the North Western Railway. They maybe old, but they have proven time and time again that they are Really Useful Engines despite their age.
@@ChimpyWallah But im sure we can both agre with Dr.Disney's comment that indeed this is how a Sodor Toby story is truely written and that Matel (formaly known as H.I.T) should take notes on this
This is one of the best stories I have seen. Toby and Edward are two old engines that share a lot in common. I do like how Bill and Ben tried to help, but ended up making things worse. Boco really is a great asset to the team. I loved the 'Postman Pat' inspired theme at the beginning 😁.
It’s odd seeing Toby working on another line we often see him working on the Farquhar line and knapford it’s nice to see him go to different parts of the NWR I mean he did travel across half the country to get to the island
Beautiful story. I don't recall an Edward and Toby character pairing for any story during the classic Thomas era, but this just feels perfect. Edward and Toby may have different approaches to brash young engines, with Edward trying to be the voice of reason and Toby sitting back and letting the other engine learn from his or her mistakes, but not only are they both wise, they are both engines you would be honored to call your friend. And honestly, he may not be as much of a mentor figure, but as the kind, caring engine who supports and stands up for Edward, Boco is a true kindred spirit and the perfect plot bridge between these two "oldies but Goldies" (especially since being a kindred spirit apparently matters far more than your actual age, since Percy is possibly closer to Edward's age and Toby is about Thomas's).
This just felt so right. In an era where on the internet, everything has to be fast paced and be the length of a blink of an eye, it’s sojust nice to have something so slow and cozy feeling. Once again you have proven yourself a phenomenal video maker, everything just felt so right. the season 2 aesthetic is great, the slow and gradual pace of the episode is just comfy to me personally, and overall a fantastic adaptation. Although i’m curious now, with toby here at Brendam, who’s working on the tramway? I would love it if someone wrote a story about Thomas or Percy working on the tramway, but one of them would have to get side plates and cow catcher and shenanigans pursues. now that would be a fun… sequel i don’t know what you would call that.
As a Newcomer to this channel, this has got to be one of the best Videos I've ever watched. The Buried Truck should be proud of himself for the stories he wrote. I think he did a good job with them, too. This adaptation is no less the best thing I've Ever Seen! I loved everything about it, what with the TVS Styled Storytelling and How We got to see Toby help out on Edward's Branchline
my favorite adaptation of this story to date, there’s something unique about your videos. I can always recognize your work, sweat a wonderful little story too! Hope to see more from you in the future!
This is insanely well made. I love the authenticity of the shot compositions and even the camera's movements. I was honestly surprised how visually close to model era Thomas this production is. I do not know if you use Trainz or some other simulator but this could've been made with blender in my opinion. Keep it up, you are making genuinely good work and I wish the show took this direction as well.
this was great, i've been dying to see a story with edward and toby together its a pairing i want to see more people do. after this video i'd love to see a story where the the harbour goes back into to how it was at the start of this video and it leads into salty's arrival
How come the fat controller didn’t see the situations on the Brendan branch surely he would probably requested an engine from another railway to help it would’ve been interesting to see Wilbert of Stepney go to Edward’s branch
5:31 Does anyone know where I can find this rendition of Edward’s theme? It’s so cozy with that slightly slower tempo, and I can’t seem to find it anywhere online! A great Edward’s Branch/Toby story for sure!

i was thinking the same. but isn't the harbor a different location from the docs as it does look alot different then brendum docks

yes. the best was in season 2 when his crank pins broke
That is so true Edward cracks a nut I love that story/episode. But my favorite story/episode is Old Iron but that's just my opinion.

I love how realistic the smoke that comes out the engine's funnels look like actual model trains!
Or the Real Steam Trackmaster Trains. (Anyone remember those?)
This is how you write a Toby story!

Let’s ask The Buried Truck to write a story of Duck meeting Bill and Ben when he was working at Wellsworth after Diesel framed him
that would be a fun idea
I could make that
