I think it is safe to say that any 12 gauge load for deer or bear will absolutely ruin the day for a home invader. At 10 to 15 yards even a load of 2 shot will turn a home invaders chest into raspberry jelly.
Good point. Plus, would you rather have 6 rounds of .38 special or 8 rounds of .380ACP in a 400 dollar revolver or pistol the government wants you to get permission to obtain or bear or have 12 .36 cal. balls in a double barrel slam-fire shotgun you can make for about 40 dollars and nobody cares much if you got permission to obtain it or not? Either way the projectiles are roughly 3/8" average between the lengths and diameters, right? Plus, over 1100FPS? That seems about as good as a modern .38 or .380 load from a handgun. Rate of fire per projectile is much better even if we're talking .38 Special carbines, DA revolvers or MAC11 converted to fire full auto VS 12GA shotguns with .36 cal. balls.

I bought a few boxes of this stuff for home defense, and because of your video I'm now going to use it for other things. Your videos are very informative and I think you're an awesome guy using your time and money to show and educate the public on how different calibers and gauges perform in this ballistic gel. Personally, I like this round.

I use these for home defense. Remember that one element missing from the Gel block is bone. Shooting at center mass, the round will likely hit an intruder's rib cage / breast bone/ spine which will cause massive fragmentation. The pellets too have a greater chance of hitting bone to in all directions they go (shoulder/collarbone, arms, ribs, and/or pelvis). My Winchester SXP Defender is at the ready with these.
Hey I had to do a search for this ammo since it was highly recommended for home defense and I didn't know anything about it. So finding your video on the S12PDX1 was greatly appreciated. You have the most information on this round that I have seen. Reliable info is not easy to find and with your demonstration it really helps. Thanks
Neat round , all the stopping power and "wham" of a slug , but just those couple pieces of 00" increases your chance of hitting a vital. Grouping seems surpringly excellent at the recommended engaging distance. I would like to see this with a slug more liable to fragment and some uncoated pellets.
Ok I have a bunch of these and all mine are lead pellets no plating. Is the Cooper a newer thing or older thing? I found them for $11 a box of 10 so I bought all 10.
Dude if that slug hits someone it will tear a huge basketball sized hole in that person shredding everything it's more likely to kill then buck much more muzzle energy and fps
@MrJohnny56789 you're probably a troll or a liberal. If someone unlawfully forces their way into my house, they're gonna get shot. The justice system is a joke and offenders usually go back

The thinking behind the design of this load seems to be similar to the "Buck and ball" load that was used so often in BP muskets during the American revolutionary and civil wars. It worked very well back then, which is why I'm a little surprised that nobody thought of a shotgun load like this sooner.
Pretty impressive terminal ballistics. I have these same shells in my Ithaca 37 HD gun. I've patterned them at in-house HD distances, was similar to your pattern. Now that I know what they do terminally, I am more convinced I chose well. I also have plenty of Tru-Ball slugs also; also a very good HD shell.
Thanks for the information. I was deciding on what to load into my shotgun for home defense. You earned my sub. You put a lot of effort in to this and actually showed what the round could do. Thx again
If you stop thinking about the results in a block of gel, but in a torso, this is EXACTLY the result you'd want! The pellets would've fatally blown out a LOT of internals, from kidneys and spleen on the low end to lungs cerebellum/spine on top- not to mention the golf ball sized hole straight through :
Very informative. Thank you for the time and effort. I feel it's extremely important to do as much independent research on home/self defense rounds as possible
Getring hit by a 45 acp 185 gr jhp at this range would be a bad dream. Getting hit with this pdx rd at this range would be a nightmare! Thx for the vid, I have that same mossberg you have exactly and I love it!
@@rustyshackleford9637 well at the time this is what I had and it was on sale but when I watch this video it's sealed the deal and it made me buy them but nothing really beats good old buckshot.
When the U.S. Army did penetration tests with the .30-06 in the early 1900s they found that on wet sand the bullet would penetrate considerably better at longer ranges than it did at just 100 yards. The reason was that at close ranges the bullet is hitting so hard that it cannot hold together but at longer range the velocity had dropped to the point that the bullet would hold together and penetrate much better. Thats something that many folks dont take into account when testing penetration.
Love4evr Ingodwetrust He is still going to make videos last time I checked, you just have to be patient. Testing takes time plus life gets in the way of making vids.
i also noticed that all of winchester's buckshot loads has grex in it. if im not mistaken it is designed to prevent premature deformation that occurs as the load accelerates down the bore but it also adds unusable weight which means that winchesters 00 buck is notably smaller than remington or rio's buckshot pellets. while grex does have a purpose im not too keen on having thousands of flying tiny pieces of unlethal plastic embedding itself to a target/intruder.
Or every round behind the first one. A round of birdshot in the chamber will stop the majority of would be attackers in their tracks. Four more rounds of this stuff in the tube would stop even the most determined drug zombies that choose not to stop.
Why limit your first shots to birdshot, you do know if you shoot someone it is considered lethal force no matter what round you use. By using a less effective round you risk putting your life in jeopardy.
@@thedoc8839 at close range high quality birdshot in 3inch will do just fine, and is less likely to kill your family member in the next room. There is an argument to be made about if its worth it, but someone isn't "asking for it" by loading a shell or two of birdshot first. Most home invaders aren't John Wick, presenting the gun, and especially being shot (regardless of if its immediately incapacitating) will end the overwhelming majority of engagements.
Good science and good presentation. I was astonished how far the block jumped. Having worked with a deputy on a dying deer to be put down humanely I now carry slugs in the car and at home just in case. I used a Stoeger side by side 12 gauge with slugs.
Picked up a box of this at Walmart because they didn't have regular slug loads. Holy crap. That damage is ridiculous. Looks like I have a box of ammo I'll never use (unless in a SHTF situation).
Someone said buck and ball dates back to the Civil War. It actually goes back farther, probably pre-Revolution, to the days of wooden ships and iron men. The sharpshooters in the tops, armed with smoothbore muskets, often used pellets with the musket ball in order to increase their hit probability. They might also be able to hit more than one person, depending on the range. The muskets would be used when the ships drew near and/or grappled together for a boarding action. I heard somewhere that 6 pellets of about #1 buck size (.30") was a common loading in, say, a 69 caliber musket. Not sure if the British invented the idea, but they do seem to have a penchant for duplex loads (WW2 "jungle mix" 12 ga loads- 00 buck and #2 bird shot). By all accounts the jungle mix worked well. Some turkey loads have been made for years with 2 shot sizes, like #4 and #6. Anyway, short history lesson🙂. STAY SAFE!
Looks like my new bear defense rounds for backwoods fly fishing. ...I wonder if the buckshot veered off the way that it did (almost parabolic) because of the temporary displacement cavity caused by the slug....clear gel with a high speed camera would be amazing with this shell...
If I were you I would use a Brenneke slug ... You want all the penetration you can get when an angry bear is charging at you. This might be good for crack heads but not bears imo.
I put a few of these through my Mossberg 88 over the weekend and Ive got to say with an 18.5" barrel these rds are pretty impressive. Im glad I've watched this video due to the fact of over penetration I like my neighbors and I don't want blanch who's washing her dishes to have to pull her socks up! #000 buck are the 1st 3rds in the mag with the PDX1's as the last two just in case my point gets across!
My lady and I sleep in the same room, no kids. My house is designed for home defense, it's my chessboard, so to speak. Anyone that uses forced entry has zero chance. Have a plan for you and your family, panic/escape rooms are a great idea.
Alex Squatch That is true, but there are some bad squaches out there. Just last week, a squach mugged me with a sharpened stick. I lost $15 & 3 apples that day.
I couldn't agree more than with Todd. In my case, my family would be behind me and the over-penetration would end up harmlessly in the garage. The massive trauma inflicted with the slug would stop anyone. Although I've had these rounds in my shotguns for quite some time, this is the first test I've seen. Thanks! It validates what I believed would happen. Great video.
always expect the unexpected, you don't know for a fact your family would be behind you or which direction a threat may come from. A slug in a house hold is plain and simple going to be over penetration with a lot of energy left. Honestly Birdshot is plenty to take out any threat and not go through your walls when and if you miss. Lets be real, in a fire fight especially if you never been in one, chances are, you will be nerved up and might miss. With a spread that's 4-5ft wide, its hard to miss, and plenty to kill. In a house hold, I don't care what you use, slug, buck shot or bird shot, if you hit them center mass they are dead... only difference is are your loved ones or neighbors also, because you used something to hot that was too close and over penetration happened, and it will.
BoostedBadBoy Indeed, life-saving words to live by. However, if I'm on the receiving end of some rounds being fired, if it isn't a bad guy, then it has to be my wife who is shooting. At that point, she's probably mad as hell and I would hope that she would miss me! Neither of us wouldn't take a sound shot (I know first hand - nothing worse then looking into the barrel of a .357 at 2 AM when I came in unannounced). I've seen the pattern of #4 shot at distances of 5 to 10-yds. It's fairly tight. I would rather go with the 1 oz. mass and 00 buck to make sure it went through a Carhartt and body then to wonder whether I'm just going to piss off the moron who is in my house. That's the nice part about this country; until they confiscate our weapons, we are fairly free to choose which gun and ammo to use to defend ourselves. It's better then yelling harsh words and throwing rocks and branches.
***** Winchester Nitro rounds, plenty hot and lethal penetration, or any high FPS waterfowl steel shot... but I hear ya buddy. I completely understand, and I have the same problem with my old lady.. lol Just based on my profession and what I've seen and what not, I just worry about over penetration because I seen it a lot. LE, is my background now, and unfortunately seen that far too often, which is why I always suggest it. But absolutely free country, at least for the most part, use what works for you and your comfortable with. My main advice, at least hit the range once a month with it to make sure your on point with it, or out on your property if your in country etc. Just know what you have and know how to use it as much as possible. But in our shotgun's we use the royal 00 buck ourselves... and it varies in our M4's depending on your department and job, I'm with special units, and handgun ammo, Me personally I carry Ranger SXT .45APC but for home defense, I think close quarters and the amount of damage that can be done in short distance, a short shot gun nothing beats it. ;) Just my .02 cents on it.. lol But yeah, don't ever give up your weapons because I'll never give up mine that's for sure....Tyranny free brother. 2A protect you and yours by all and any means necessary.
New York same bro. Absolutely awesome platform and brutal round. I ditched the gangster/pistol grip for an adjustable ar buttstock . Added a clip on glo frot sight and this ammo. Sleep tight bad guys
I agree with you 100%, firearms safety is key. Target identification is one of the most important aspects of self-defense training. Also, I personally believe that the US has some of the best self-defense laws in the world. Our home/self-defense laws tend to favor the victim, not the criminal. Our laws are based on the principle that if a bad-guy is trying to deprive you of life or property, it is you inherent right as a human-being to be able to fight back without fear of legal retribution.
Any bullet will though. A .22 will kill someone just like a .45 or 12 gauge or .410. You shoot someone in the head or gut with any caliber and their chances of seeing another day are small.
I think what everyone is talking about is the amount of energy that each bullet displaces when impacting a human. Yes a 22 LR can kill someone but does lack in releasing enough energy to destroy organs and such. A 5.56X45 kills also but also lacks the energy of let’s say a 308 Winchester. The 12 guage delivers the most energy except maybe a 50 BMG than any other round. The energy a 12 or 20 guage slug will destroy organs while to slug rips through the flesh. The damage is devastating.
The load I like is #4 buckshot. It's the lightest/smallest one that meets the FBI penetration standard, but smaller pellets mean less chance of overpenetration and less danger to anyone who might be downrange. Another advantage I feel it has over the larger shot loads is that with an increased number of pellets hitting the target, there's an increased chance of something incapacitating being hit.
Hozea Hozea Sorry to hear that buddy, i tell you what gone and get you some and leave the empty box out where they can see it....lol that alone should do it, if not we'll you know what they say, some folks learn the hard way!💥
I bought a box, but never used it. It seems like a good choice for city dwellers with the neighbors close (the slower velocity). I don't know. I don't like the fact that the 00 buck can go way off target and hit something/someone you don't want to hit.
i gotta say, four massive holes through the bad guy is a pretty good fight stopper. i suppose buckshot could perform the same function but these are cool loads and you could use the slug to reach out with if you had to. all in all, cheaper to keep a few rounds of each around rather than these. buck and ball has been around for a long time, for good reason. glad to see it modernized.
Winchester makes the best shotgun ammo in my opinion. I use 3 inch Winchester double magnums for turkey hunting in #5 or 6 shot. I've tested a few different turkey loads and the winchesters seem to hit hardest with the tightest patterns. These PDX1 12's are more than enough to stop a home invader dead in his tracks. I'd be confident with this load in my 12 gauge. Unless you miss you won't have to shoot more than once.
My wife has these loaded in her Maverick 88 tactical... She looks like Sarah Conner (Ironically, my wife's name is Sara) from Terminator 2 when she is holding it.
Ur wifes name and A movie character is not Irony. Irony means the opposite of what is expected happens. So like trying to save money only to loose money because you are too cheap is irony. A fire man's house catching on fire is a coincidence.
In all honesty ANY 12 gauge bullet will kill someone weather 2 3/4" or 3" or 3 1/2" or buckshot, birdshot, etc. A federal 2 3/4 target load will kill someone just as easy.
I think this is great for marketing and would kill anybody at 7-15ft which is the average shot in a home. However, any 12ga buckshot or slug from 7-15ft will kill someone. You never read I double tapped him with my 12ga and he just kept coming at me. I think the PXD1 is a cool gimmick and like I said it would work but not as well as 00 buckshot or just a foster slug alone.
Where exactly do you shoot at? Tell me the difference between birdshot, 00 Buck shot... or a slug 7-15ft away placed in a person's center mass? All = exact same outcome... DEAD only difference is over penetration. It's not a gimmick if it works, this works just fine, just a different load. Me personally, I know better than to use 00 Buck or a slug inside my home if I want my family to survive if I miss for whatever reason, not to mention the spread it devastating, and it's not going through walls. This thing has more than enough energy especially at that distance to pass through, and keep going, same with any slug or Buck shot for that matter. Any shot gun load is going to put a close quarters firefight down..fast... but people don't think about the outcome of 5-10ft where most fire fights happen, there is A LOT of missing in those adrenaline filled moments, or projectile over penetration that gets you in just as much trouble because you packed something too hot, and may have shot your loved ones or neighbors by accident trying to protect them. I see this all the time in my profession. Be conscious of your surroundings... and know what you have in the chamber and what it can actually do, and practice with it as much as possible is my advice. Granted a target paper don't shoot back at you, but shot placement is everything. The straighter you shoot the better your chances of survival especially if you can do it under fight or flight nerve situation.
Craig Hofmann i always love the 'which round is best' ..seriously. in a house, assuming unarmored target (if its armored chances are its a cop) birdshot. it will do the job, pretty perfectly, more wound channels, albeit smaller pellets, but more then enough penetration to hit shred the vitals, not enough to go through the door behind them. next question
Kail917 birdshit is horrible..... birdshot would not even pierce the sternum..... it doesn't even pierce a quarter inch of wood. bird shit is designed to kill 10 pound birds.... slugs and buckshot are designed to take down deer and humans..... if you trust your life to birdshit, which will only wound and piss off an assailant, then prepare to die.
The lower velocity is most likely the reason the slug stayed in one piece, the greater energy would place greater stresses causing the fragmentation of the slug. I like the concept of a jacketed slug filled with a No 6 shot in a medium, kind of like a Glazer slug for shotguns.
I'm in the same boat. I was impressed non-the-less with the results, and they sure do LOOK like a premium shell... Not to sound like a newb or anything, but Winchester did a great job with the packaging and the aesthetics of these shells. I rebuild police trade-ins for one of the country's major distributors, so I'm around this stuff all the time and I'm just saying they look good. With all of the nitpickers here, I'm sure I'll catch some flack for commenting on how well presented they are...
The ammo is good. The Shell that is comes is is JUNK. WHO in there right mind would make ammo that you cannot see if it is in a shotgun mag tube or chamber in a low light situation.
If you can't tell if your shotgun is loaded or know the status of your firearm then you don't need to have one because it is wise to lock and load your home defense weapon so you aren't fumbling under pressure when a situation occurs
How about already have the gun loaded ??...if you need more than 6 or 7 of these to stop a threat....you're one of the people that shouldn't have guns. Did you write this drunk btw "the shell that is comes is is junk" ????
I would think if you shot a person with this load, there would be a chance of over penetration. The biggest thing about choosing anything for home defense comes down to where you live, if you have a family, and the kind of house you live in. I doubt someone will break in your house with body armor on, but what I think is important, if it does happen, and you have a family, can you get your family in a safe place or out from behind your target.
Exactly, I agree. In my opinion, home defense weapons should not have too much penetration. AR's for home defense (like the fellow above mentioned that people use) is not very safe for the neighbors. With an AR, one could shoot the bad guy and kill the next door neighbor too. One should always consider this.
I got a reply from TN, I feel like a celebrity, lol. Gotcha, I would never use this ammo. I have No 4 buck and 00 buck in the mag and on the side saddle for the house. In the woods I have 2.75in Rem Slugs loaded up. Thanks for your videos, the best stuff on youtube.
Not as bad as regular slugs or jus playing buckshot I have these in my Mossberg 500 pistol grip and they don't kick as bad as regular 00 buck or slugs by themselves
My interior walls are lathe instead of standard gypsum drywall. Therefore, I have a lower risk of the pellets passing through the wall and striking a loved one. I'm loading PDX1 in my home defense shotgun.
Dude don't count on that please...I'm not sure you understand exterior and terminal ballistics. use your angles and don't shoot a wall that your kid is on the other side of because 00 buck will go straight through that wall. seek professional training.
Thanks for the reply. It would be nice to have a large sample section of "lathe-studs-lathe" to take to the range for testing. If there is any real threat that any portion exits the other side of the wall, then a different load or tactic is an absolute necessity.
Hi. It sounds to me like you have the PDX1 "Segmented Rifled Slug" load which is different than the PDX1 "Rifled Slug/00 Buck" load tested above. The "Segmented Rifled Slug" is a 1600 fps load with a single, segmented rifled slug designed to break into three pieces upon impact. The idea of this load is to give you the best of both worlds; the range and heavy impact of a full-power slug with the multiple wound channels of buck shot albeit via three large segments. Hope this helps!
Shotguns are just brutal. Thats why I keep one by my bedside. If someone breaks in, theres nothing better at stopping that threat.

This guys vids are always in depth and thorough. Never a question goes unanswered.

Neat round , all the stopping power and "wham" of a slug , but just those couple pieces of 00" increases your chance of hitting a vital. Grouping seems surpringly excellent at the recommended engaging distance. I would like to see this with a slug more liable to fragment and some uncoated pellets.
Saddendude if you hit a threat with that slug, do you really think it would matter???
If you hit a threat with that slug, do you really think fragmentation would matter???
Ok I have a bunch of these and all mine are lead pellets no plating. Is the Cooper a newer thing or older thing? I found them for $11 a box of 10 so I bought all 10.
Dude if that slug hits someone it will tear a huge basketball sized hole in that person shredding everything it's more likely to kill then buck much more muzzle energy and fps

Ive seen a lot of your videos now; none have made me say "DAMN!" like when I saw the energy from that round send the gel block to the ground. Awesome video

You do great work!
Thank you for your Video. I've had pdx in my HDS for a while now. after seeing your test I'm gonna take it out and go back to 00. In the Idea of being safe and keeping my neighbors safety in mind as well.

Wow. I'm glad I invested in a few boxes of these. Great test and very thorough explanation, as always. Thanks!
i watch a lot of your vids and many times over this is one of the best and one of the best results. that slug really surprised me. all im saying is great job. im also in Tennessee I am also glad to see others love shooting as much as me, If i could shoot everyday i would but i just cant afford it. so i watch you and others shoot and enjoy, which in turn makes me happy, keep up the great work.. love it
Just loaded up 16 of these babies in my dp-12. Now let’s hope I never need to use them
The thinking behind the design of this load seems to be similar to the "Buck and ball" load that was used so often in BP muskets during the American revolutionary and civil wars.
It worked very well back then, which is why I'm a little surprised that nobody thought of a shotgun load like this sooner.
I'd be interested in seeing you do a PDX1 .410 gel test out of a revolver.

I also use this in my Home Defense shotgun.... Love the fact your getting a slug and buck shot perfecta.
Thanks for the information. I was deciding on what to load into my shotgun for home defense. You earned my sub. You put a lot of effort in to this and actually showed what the round could do. Thx again
I have these in my 12 gauge. I'm not exactly sure what it'll do in the 28" barrel, but I don't want to be the guy to find out
If you stop thinking about the results in a block of gel, but in a torso, this is EXACTLY the result you'd want! The pellets would've fatally blown out a LOT of internals, from kidneys and spleen on the low end to lungs cerebellum/spine on top- not to mention the golf ball sized hole straight through :
+iTheGeek um.... yes?
Very informative. Thank you for the time and effort. I feel it's extremely important to do as much independent research on home/self defense rounds as possible
You should do a test with the pdx1 segmenting slugs.
Thanks for the video man. It was very infomative, and I'm impressed by the rounds' capabilities. Have a good one!
Great video and very impressive round. Would not want to be the receiving end of the round for sure.
Thanks for the review. OO buck for home defense would be your first choice? What about #4 buckshot for home defense? Anthony.
Why did you waste all of that delicious caramel?

Excellent demonstration...I JUST bought a box from Walmart...I had bought the WILD BOAR load a week ago....
Miss your videos brother.
Thats something that many folks dont take into account when testing penetration.
do you have a video showing how you make your ballistics gel?
Man I just found your stuff. Late to the party but you’re quickly becoming my favorite ammo reviewer

i also noticed that all of winchester's buckshot loads has grex in it. if im not mistaken it is designed to prevent premature deformation that occurs as the load accelerates down the bore but it also adds unusable weight which means that winchesters 00 buck is notably smaller than remington or rio's buckshot pellets. while grex does have a purpose im not too keen on having thousands of flying tiny pieces of unlethal plastic embedding itself to a target/intruder.
Devastating! I can see using this as the final round in your stack
I have to agree with what you said and I'm going to quote you.
Or every round behind the first one.
A round of birdshot in the chamber will stop the majority of would be attackers in their tracks. Four more rounds of this stuff in the tube would stop even the most determined drug zombies that choose not to stop.
There's no good reason to not have it by itself. Stacked loads are silly and can get you in trouble.
@yousef ahmed I think I paid like $10 to $15 for a box of ten. Well worth it.

This is my choice of home defense ammo for my Mossberg 930 SPX. Love it!
This is what i use in my hd shotgun mossberg 500 flex tactical.
New York same bro. Absolutely awesome platform and brutal round. I ditched the gangster/pistol grip for an adjustable ar buttstock . Added a clip on glo frot sight and this ammo. Sleep tight bad guys
Doc Autrisim Run a Glock 17 with a 33 rd big stick mag now but I still got that same 12 gauge and these same rounds lol.
I love these rounds! I load these in my home defense shotgun. I have a Mossberg 500 18" barrel. These hit you 15 feet or less, your dead for sure!
Any bullet will though. A .22 will kill someone just like a .45 or 12 gauge or .410. You shoot someone in the head or gut with any caliber and their chances of seeing another day are small.
+Alexander Moffitt gotta look at knock down power as well though. a .22 won't knock down a drug head.
+Alexander Moffitt there's nothing vital in someone's gut
+Nikolas lima and there's no such thing as knockdown power
I think what everyone is talking about is the amount of energy that each bullet displaces when impacting a human. Yes a 22 LR can kill someone but does lack in releasing enough energy to destroy organs and such. A 5.56X45 kills also but also lacks the energy of let’s say a 308 Winchester. The 12 guage delivers the most energy except maybe a 50 BMG than any other round. The energy a 12 or 20 guage slug will destroy organs while to slug rips through the flesh. The damage is devastating.
I want so many guns.... I need to win a lottery. But anyone can afford an old pump 12 gauge. Love watching these videos over and over.
That shit would hert ,that's a naughty round
The load I like is #4 buckshot. It's the lightest/smallest one that meets the FBI penetration standard, but smaller pellets mean less chance of overpenetration and less danger to anyone who might be downrange. Another advantage I feel it has over the larger shot loads is that with an increased number of pellets hitting the target, there's an increased chance of something incapacitating being hit.
Running these in my SAVAGE STEVENS 320 TACTICAL!!! Haven't shot them yet but I'm betting who Eva tries to break in wish i don't either..!!!😀

+Tony Tyler that one shot will mess you up!
Patrick Flanagan That indeed!
Thanks for a clear transfer of objective information!
I bought a box, but never used it. It seems like a good choice for city dwellers with the neighbors close (the slower velocity). I don't know. I don't like the fact that the 00 buck can go way off target and hit something/someone you don't want to hit.
Still use this load till this day. After about 8 or 9 years now. 👍 best of both worlds really.
I would use it for home defense this or 00 buck
i gotta say, four massive holes through the bad guy is a pretty good fight stopper. i suppose buckshot could perform the same function but these are cool loads and you could use the slug to reach out with if you had to. all in all, cheaper to keep a few rounds of each around rather than these. buck and ball has been around for a long time, for good reason. glad to see it modernized.
why do you take the shotgun from your shoulder while pumping it? just wondering.
may just be making sure he doesn't short stroke it. takes practice to rapid fire a semi on the shoulder and keep it on target.
toomanyaccounts It's a pump
I was wondering the same thing as well.
@@watcher01a17 I think he meant the semi portion of a tractor trailor rig............
*double x magnums is what I meant to say
My wife has these loaded in her Maverick 88 tactical... She looks like Sarah Conner (Ironically, my wife's name is Sara) from Terminator 2 when she is holding it.
Ur wifes name and A movie character is not Irony. Irony means the opposite of what is expected happens. So like trying to save money only to loose money because you are too cheap is irony. A fire man's house catching on fire is a coincidence.
Rick James really dude? You have nothing better to do?
I have some of these. After watching this I think that this would be great for a crowd. A good round for the military.
So really, despite the ballistics, this shell will kill things dead.
it'll splatter the guts of the first guy and kill the guy behind him too from the looks of things.
This round is deadly I use it for my M590. Mainly for H.D.
In all honesty ANY 12 gauge bullet will kill someone weather 2 3/4" or 3" or 3 1/2" or buckshot, birdshot, etc. A federal 2 3/4 target load will kill someone just as easy.
+Alexander Moffitt not bullet *shell
+Alexander Moffitt birdshot will put some hurt on someone but I would not trust my life on it. if you want smaller than 00 buck, try #4 buck
Old but Gold video.
Dead with any of the three.
BoostedBadBoy birdshit will not stop the threat... you need to learn the difference between lethality and incapacitation.
The lower velocity is most likely the reason the slug stayed in one piece, the greater energy would place greater stresses causing the fragmentation of the slug. I like the concept of a jacketed slug filled with a No 6 shot in a medium, kind of like a Glazer slug for shotguns.
That would just do catastrophic damage to an intruder.
WHO in there right mind would make ammo that you cannot see if it is in a shotgun mag tube or chamber in a low light situation.
good point!
That is why you always use a finger to see if you are clear. Or should I turn the light on for you. Back to basic shotgun clearing guys.
Scott Horne true lol good point
I hit you with my mossburg 500, at 10 feet. You’ve got a slug in your chest, and 00 in your leg, shoulder, maybe an arm. That’s good enough for me.
Todd Klekotka the good thing about slug vs body armor is it won’t go through but it transfers so much energy the target will die anyway.

I'm amazed there finally got the rounds .yes.
GOD BLESS THE HOME INVADER
