My partner and i stayed here overnight 2 weeks ago in our camper. It was amazing to wake up and have breakfast by the stones. Potholes were indeed horrendous. 😂
Stonehenge is opened to to the public for winter solstice for free and you can get in amongst it. Great party atmosphere!! They do shut the Drove for a few days so no overnight parking. There is a 'real secret' park up close by though and you have to drive to Stonehenge at silly oclock to get parking. Highly recommend it! Make you right about losing things in the van too🤣🤣🤣
Ah that’s awesome, we wondered how it worked over the solstice. Imagine there something quite special about it. Things just disappear don’t they 🤗. Amazes me in such a small space 😂
I was up on the hill park up at westbury last night and it was the same constant fireworks! Felt they were right over the van, all over by about 10 though.
Yeah we just didn’t think about until it was happening 😂🤣. As we say we are so thankful the animals are so chilled with them 🙏. Hope you’ve had an awesome weekend 🙌🤗
It’s a brilliant spot isn’t it. We’ve been a few times now and love the views and walks up there. Although we picked the wrong night this time 🤣. Our fault, not thinking ahead of time 😂🙈
They’re amazing aren’t they. One of the many reasons we keep coming back here. I’ve been seeing loads of deer around the campervan in the dark. Can’t get enough of the nature and animals here. Hope your travels are going well 😎🤙
I’ve parked up there several times. I tend to park towards the Larkhill garrison as I don’t like the hullabaloo of the almost fixed camp there. They are though wonderful people who I have chatted with I just don’t want to party. You can exit through the army village if you don’t fancy the A303.
It’s a great spot isn’t it. There didn’t seem to be so many vans there but we were close to the main road. May check out your recommendation next time 🤗. Got a few helicopters over head which is always fun. Well they are for me 😂. Don’t think Kez cares as much 🤣. The pothole situation and road was insane though 😂🙈
Well I guess it’s a IYKYK if you don’t know you don’t know 😂. Thanks for the heads up on Avebury, we’ll have to check this out for sure. Don’t think we knew about this so really appreciate the advice 🤙😎
The Drove at Stonehenge will be closed down before next summer, the fools that have decided to live there almost permanently in their vans have drawn far too much attention to it.

secret?..also if you loved that go to Avebury you can park anywhere and walk around the stones for free its also older than Stonehenge :)
