I know! I like EBay because they handle taxes and make “international” shipping easier. I guess they made it too easy if they just don’t let Canadian bidders bid! 😂 This was a shocking revelation! I feel like I need to take a closer look at this “global shipping program.” This whole situation is just weird.
yup, been there done that and sold the PPV rights, Dragon. i have encountered bad sellers more than once especially ones that hit you with a high shipping fee when they say they offer combined shipping but, then, don't follow through on it.

Many of my big buyers are in Canada, which makes it a huge problem.
As a Canadian, there’s been a couple times I’ve tried bidding on American auctions. And yeah, the odd time I’m just not allowed to bid
This is crazy! I'm so confused! I always elect to use the global shipping program for convenience with the implied belief that EVERYONE can bid!

I would bet I've had auctions like that as a seller, but probably never knew about it.
If you have a regular Canadian (or international) bidder, I’d just start asking them to review your listings and see if they have the option to bid. I imagine this would be hard if you have a lot of listings. Fortunate for me, I only have a few.

I hate selling on EBay now. Sellers have much less protections than buyers in general. I rarely sell there now and only low ticket items. I'd like to sell bigger stuff but too many ways to get stiffed as a seller in my opinion.
Thanks for commenting. I’ve heard some real horror stories about eBay. One of the worst scams I’ve heard about is selling a comic and then having the buyer return a LOWER grade or incomplete copy. It’s just astonishing!

Imagine if the interested party from Canada didn’t reach out to you…. You would be none the wiser and probably lost a lot of potential revenue…. Seems a bit odd to me, your better off not selling such big books on eBay TBH.
I’ve been on EBay since 1999 and never had to end an auction early.
