Hi. I've been using this video to do the clutch on my brother in laws astra. I've got the new clutch fitted and gearbox mounted but when I'm pumping the pedal it feels very light, and it's just pumping air from the bleed nipple, been pumping it for 20mins and still no oil through the bleed nipple, any ideas if i should carry on, or if theres something I could of done wrong Thanks

Hello, one quick question. Few days ago i done clutch + flywheel on vauxhall astra 1.3cdti, everything works but something keep draining my battery when car is off. What should i check first? ( drainin started after clutch replacement) Thankss!!
Hey, thanks foır your amazing work. A quick question; I have a 1.6CDTI Astra 136PS The clutch pedal was extremely stiff when I got it, I have taken it to a mechanic to replace the flywheel, pressure plate, throwout bearing and the clutch. But it didn't solve the problem. What might be cause? The clutch pedal should get easier to press as you press it in right? But mine acts like it is spring loaded, it just gets really hard to press. Any ideas?
ege621 did your mechanic definitely change the clutch kit ... a hard pedal usually indicates a failed pressure plate. Is the pedal coming back up on its own. ...
@@WMCS I have deliberately asked for the old parts to make sure he actually changed them. He gave me the old parts but they were not worn enough to cause any problem (in my opinion) And I have asked for photos and videos while he was installing them. The pedal comes back just fine. It is like a spring its really hard to depress. Thanks for your answer!
@bill naveed They should have bled the air out. The clutch pedal is as stiff as before. Cylinders might be the cause as you said, since there is no other thing left to change... Thanks for your answer!
ege621 try replacing the compensator valve which is located on the hydraulic line. Most likely around the bulk head area. It’s a circular metal valve about 1.5 inch radius.. that’ll hopefully solve the problem. Let us know how you get on.
@@WMCS Thank you. Wİll definetely give an update. This is looking like a restriction problem for the fluid right? Dang.. all the mechanics think that replacing clutch etc. will solve eveything...
If you're just doing a clutch then yes, if you want to drop the gearbox out altogether no, you'd need to drop the subframe down to allow enough room to slip the box through (don't need to remove the subframe completely).
Hi Kevin, is it possible to do it in the same manner (without lowering the subframe) in Astra equipped with 1.6 petrol engine Z16XEP? Thank You in advance.
Rainy or windy, Kevin makes it comfy! And I think in about 4h including video. What videocamera are you using?. I bet it takes more time to secure the car on the jacks. Well done Kevin!
Oscar Montero this repair including filming took about 4hours. So that was a very good guess. I was using a GoPro hero session 4... I’ve recently upgraded to a GoPro hero session 5.... much better quality picture but a shorter time battery life ....it’s about the size of a matchbox .. so it’ll fit anywhere ... This repair didn’t require an oil drain as they have a sump and the oil doesn’t spill out of the driveshaft .... I aways advise customers to get the oil change at their local garage on these .... Definitely plenty of Torx on vauxhall ... The part that I always take extra extra extra caution is the the tiny very shallow female torx bolts that holds the CSC.. they are very very tight as they’re fitted with locktite... unless firm pressure and a steady hand is applied. It can easily round off... then it’s definitely an 8hour job.... the trick with them is to crack it open then tighten it back up. Slacken then do up a few times to break the locktite glue ...
@@WMCS You are welcome! Thanks for the tip on the bolts. Yes they are super tiny. I do not know what harm could bigger ones do... Nice videocamera! But I do not get how you manage to press any button or change position with greasy gloves... Not to mention the final state of the camera! 😅 By the way, I think you ripped one glove off. how on earth do you get that lil linkage bit off the pin. (10mins) 2 videos ive watched you do it and it pops straight off 4 hours I have tried to remove mine and failed its going to be getting very hot tomorrow see if that will move it.. or any suggestions??
@WMCS thanks bud couldnt have done it without your video saved loads time not dropping the whole subframe.. I managed to get it off.. but the original problem I had still persists.. clucth was slipping and was struggling to get gears, not grinding just like they were blocked. Only the reverse gear grinds can start it up in reverse and works fine just selecting the gears is a struggle.. Ive reset the gear linkage and stick all the alginment is okay wondering if its a worn linkage or broken box, it went from working completely fine to not been able to get first second or reverse without a struggle. did have a noticeable burning smell from the gearbox the day before.. and no oil came out when driveshafts removed. Could it just be low oil/fluid?
come to think of it there was a bit oil around the bell housing but looked as so it came from the oil filter from a previous oil change. Might have a leak somewhere but theres no oil left to leak out, will fill it tomorrow n see if it changes anything and see if theres a leak.

The clutch pedal was extremely stiff when I got it, I have taken it to a mechanic to replace the flywheel, pressure plate, throwout bearing and the clutch. But it didn't solve the problem. What might be cause? The clutch pedal should get easier to press as you press it in right? But mine acts like it is spring loaded, it just gets really hard to press. Any ideas?

did you change the flywheel?
how much would you of charged for this job ?
how on earth do you get that lil linkage bit off the pin. (10mins) 2 videos ive watched you do it and it pops straight off 4 hours I have tried to remove mine and failed its going to be getting very hot tomorrow see if that will move it.. or any suggestions??
Keep it an angle 📐
Might have a leak somewhere but theres no oil left to leak out, will fill it tomorrow n see if it changes anything and see if theres a leak.
hi did you add oil on gearbox , was waiting for how you konw its enough
You have to fill up until it overflows through the driveshaft access
Thanks for the video mate great job👍
Merci.
Excellent video!

Is it possible to remove the gearbox completely without dropping the subframe
Yes but you’ll have to detach the steering column from inside. Lock the steering wheel.
Slacken the other side 1/2 way and you’ll have plenty of room
Bravo a toi essaie un jour un embrayage sur une Mercedes w203 220cdi 😉💪
