I know I've already commented but today one of my good customers broke down their flywheel broke up they have a 1.7 cdti Astra j, both my ramps are tied up with major jobs but because of your video I did it in the doorway of the workshop! I normally always drop the entire subfrsme complete with steering rack, the time you saved me today was unbelievable! Just wanted to say thanks! I am speechless. For far the best video from RUclips. I was myself a mechanic for 10 years and I know how hard is to crawl under the cars find the right position to be sure you are doing a good job. Your work is an amazing job, clean but man what drives me crazy, how the hell did you managed to get the camera in those narrow spaces? I've tried sometimes to get a picture or video but I never managed to get that clear like your video. Even lots of RUclipsrs don't have clear videos like yours. All my respect for your work. I don't know how much do you charge but obviously you deserve every penny. And thank you for your video. 👍
Man after my own heart, impact gun and swivel sockets for the win 😂😂. Seriously I work at a Vauxhall main dealer and have done for 15 years and we still have guys that couldn’t do these jobs on a ramp. Let alone on the floor. Well done fella keep it up 👍🏻
I subbed a couple of weeks ago and think this is the first comment I've made? Just to say what great work you do and the videos you post are very detailed, i'm more confident thinking about doing my car's clutch going forward now because of your channel. I've just fixed my clutch by replacing the master and slave cylinder's, after being quoted £600 for a new clutch, which i knew wasn't the problem, it cost me £60 for the two parts! Thanks for the insight and keep up the good work!

@Kevin-Albert Williams on 2.0CDTi is it possible to install clutch and pressure plate from Twin Turbo diesel to reduce possibility of slipping on mapped engine? Is it a part that fits one to one ? Or have they used the same part on both engines without any change?
Very good job mate, i think that for you is easy but for me i think is hard now, but your work give me push to do the same job :) I have a question clutch on Astra H or J what's easier to do ??? Thx to reply :) Because next week will doing clutch on H.
Great video mate. Not one detail left out. You reckon a scrap part flywheel can be used along with a new clutch?. Got the dreaded flywheel rattle on my astra j gtc.
Believe it or not. That DMF has only covered 48.5k miles. A bit of a let down on that original part. Notice the clutch I fitted. It’s a heavy duty self adjusting pressure plate. It partly takes the torque from that 2.0L engine... mind you this is a VXR engine and gearbox.
Hey man, I'm from London and got a similar situation for clutch potentially with master cylinder change required on 2015 Astra J with 1.6 CDTI engine LE line. Is it the same as this 2.0 CDTI on the video? I'm assuming LUK is the best option !
Watched a few of your videos now. Absolute master! Did a Ford C Max 1.6 TDCi clutch based off your Ford Focus one with the same engine. Do you remember where you got that long bar for prying the lower ball joints off?
Do you let the subframe down a little to allow space for gear box when you’re removing it because I can’t get my gearbox to sit on the subframe like you have done ….?

Did a Ford C Max 1.6 TDCi clutch based off your Ford Focus one with the same engine.
Do you remember where you got that long bar for prying the lower ball joints off?
I had it cut from my local engineering shop. It’s a solid stainless steel bar.
@@WMCS It's a nice bar.
Will be great to see a 1.7 cdti sometime!
Will try and get a video of one ✨✨
I've just done my 1.7cdti pretty much the same as this motor, the dmf is different but has the same slave bearing.
Hi Kevin, do you just remove the nearside front and rear subframe bolts to get the access for the box to squeeze into?
Ola eres genial un saludo, me gustan tus vidios

how many orphan bolts did you get? wow, i like mechanics, but i do not have such memory to store each position. great job 👏👏👏👏

#memory yes.., agreed.
But repetition is the key 🔐

I would have forgotten where all the bolts go 🤣
Hello. Is this a A20DTH engine? Where is the crankshaft sensor (speed sensor) located?

How do you go on in bad weather especially when it's raining constantly

Nice vid brother, wonder if u are able to remove the gearbox totally from that side. (Does it fit through the wheel hole?)
Yes for sure.
Still waiting to see a video of you doing a clutch on a vw t4

Hello my friend The Clutchinator....that the same process for a Zafira ?
Hello Gregos .,, is it a petrol or diesel version ..,
What brand spline grease did you use mate?
Nice work! Is the Luk clutch kit reliable? Didn't the customer have any problems with the clutch? Thank you
They’re ok.
@@WMCS This weekend I changed the clutch kit on my Astra. But the pedal got too low and it's kind of hard. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
The actuator that comes in the kit is also from Luk. Is that the problem? Do you think I should swap it out for a Fte as sourced?
Do you let the subframe down a little to allow space for gear box when you’re removing it because I can’t get my gearbox to sit on the subframe like you have done ….?
That’s correct.
how long real time to do this job great work as always

Mid-6 hours

I think it’s down to how you use the tools rather than the brand.
I guess the subframe has to come out if your replacing the box? Or do you think it would fit through the gap
I have done it before when replacing gearbox. But you have to work inches at a time and will need steering column detaching from the footwell.
Is this the F40 gearbox or the M32? And is this the same process for the prefacelift model?
.

Did you watch it fully. I left it on floor to go shut the bleed nipple.
