    Just a heads up guys. If you are experiencing power lag, your temperature needle is always stuck on cold, or your heater is not throwing any hot heat. Make sure you change your engine thermostat and also bleed your anti freeze! Very important. 👍🏼

    Important detail at the end of this video. I didn't know it could take 10 -15 minutes to burp out all of the air from the coolant system. Thanks Peter.

      There is one on each side of the engine block for v-6. That’s only if you want to do a true system flush.

    Nice video, thanks for sharing. Was it issue with thermostat or it's just a preventive maintenance? How often would you recommend to replace the t-stat? I am planning to do the coolant flush on my 2008 V6 (107k MILES) and though to replace t-stat too even though it did not give me any issues yet

      Every other year? Really? Come on, man. I just replaced an 18 year old thermostat on my Camry. It was still perfectly functional but I figured I'd do it as preventative maintenance as I was already flushing the coolant.

    I have a Tacoma but the engine layout is almost the same. Guess what went out was the O-ring inside. I thought there was a gasket between the thermostat and other part.

      The cost in the end is well worth it. It’s not as expensive as fixing it if done wrong. They are good vehicles, take care of it.

    What was the reason to have the thermostat replaced?

    • @connerwright5480
      @connerwright5480 5 лет назад +1

      If it’s like mine, the gasket on the thermostat was old and cracked so it started leaking coolant. It’s a common problem on the bigger 2uz-fe engine that was an option for this generation of 4Runner.
