    I think it's actually a good thing that most of Botw is spent travelling, because the exploration is the best part

      It is for sure, I don't mind the time and world that we explored, maybe that the other aspects weren't fleshed out enough. Dungeons, Shrines, Combat and Climbing could be spruced up

    I also like botw because of that cool and not stressful traveling. I would juste have wanted more "lynel-type" enemy : not mandatory enemy's that give a little challenge.
    I also got bored after 30h because of schrine's rewards. That doesn't push you to do it when you have some stamina and some heart.
    I loved the dongeon of the game, and the bosses where very interesting in my opinion.
    The difficulty for me is very nicely balanced. An average player could get some challenge with the différents mobs and a beginner can always run away or eat some stuff. My gf loved it !

      Agree, I think even if we have I.E. "LikeLikes" in the desert which eat weapons, "Redeads" freeze you in place, "Dodongos", "Deku Baba", "Iron Knuckles", "Peahats", "Wallmasters". All classic enemies that could have unique spins on the mechanics. Big Octoroks, Darknuts, Big Poes, Mothulas, Helmasaurs, Arrghus could have fun healthbar boss mechanics.
      Shrines need to all have like a clothing piece or actual rewards like a ring which reduces a bit of damage etc.
      I love the idea of the dungeons. Think they could be fun to have along side traditional dungeons with interlocking rooms, puzzles, keys etc. Bosses, take or leave, prefer weird enemies.
      Difficulty is actually perfect, excellent system that can be picked up by Soulsborne player and newbie alike.
      Just hope this fuse and ultrahand system works fine as it looks bonkers for TOTK.

    I found that after my first playthrough of the game, subsequent playthroughs were not enjoyable, and it made me less interested in interacting with the non-playable characters since I already knew what to expect. To improve the replay value of the game, randomizing the placement of enemy camps, non-playable characters, shrines, foliage, koroks, and towers could have made it more engaging. It would have been great if the game offered multiple endings, although I doubt that would be added to Tears of the Kingdom. Nonetheless, I am optimistic that the game will be superior to Breath of the Wild in both its storyline and gameplay, but I do hope that replaying the game doesn't become tedious.

      Agreed.
      The idea of randomised enemies would be very fun and make the game embrace its "Survival" and "Adapt to your surroundings" elements to breath of the wild. Zelda puzzles work well from being nicely crafted, so I would just prefer 6 long shrines instead of 120 short ones personally. Koroks and randomised collectables would be nice however.
      It actually looks like they are going to do weird stuff with story and gameplay which is actually exciting for once since mostly Zelda never really cares much for its Lore in place of gameplay, which is obviously fine as long as the gameplay is immensely polished. But now that the "100 year amnesia" plotline is done with the mystery of the world solved, they actually need to write new lore to propel the story forward with the same characters.
      I suspect Fromsofts method of story telling and combat have ruined that hope for me in general as I don't think those elements of gameplay and story will be topped by Nintendo. But in terms of wacky fun shit and crazy system interactions, I think Nintendo may have the edge.

    great video, I can't even imagine the effort you put in
    also perfect timing for me as I've been playing botw lately. your video perfectly summarizes also my main critique to the game: such exploration is pleasant and engaging as long as it feels rewarding, which hardly is in botw, and the repetitiveness is abysmal. It still is a fun game, but it doesn't feel like what I've been told by all friends and people online. My hope is that with the additional time the team took after delaying the game they managed to alleviate these aspects
    most of the fault, however, at least for me, resides in elden ring, which set an amazingly high standard

      Hahah you have no idea....
      I replayed it in anticipation of Tears of the Kingdom and certainly it hasn't got the spark as when I first played it. Originally I thought it was a 10/10 but one of the most improvable 10/10 games i've played. A big leap forward in games and not touched by anything at that time, ergo 10/10, the best of its genre, yet you can see the little areas it can tweak and the sequel to it would be the far more interesting game.
      The problem is Elden Ring and Fromsoft are just too dang good. it really shows up the short comings of BOTW, but half because Elden Ring both learned from it and also has that Fromsoft Environmental storytelling and combat, which smokes Zelda. Nintendo EAD always steps up, so I am not worried, the fuse stuff looks bonkers, but we will see how they structure the game.

      yep that's it: what we can get with tears of the kingdom is astonishing; what we have been showed in the trailers seems to boost creativity to the utmost and it also hints at possible ways to prevent the transportation shortcomings of botw. At this point the only uncertainty I have is on the enemy variety, but we are probably few days from an instant classic of videogame history

    Botw has one main issue... Exploration is blant... Just try to reexplore an area... Like indepth...
    The reexploration value in Botw is extremely mid...

    • @Marcorix2010
      @Marcorix2010 Год назад +1

      To be fair allthough this is an issue for sure has any large scale open-world game got exploration right so far ever?. I cant think of any & come to think of it I have never replayed any open world game whereas i have replayed more linear games countelss times like metroid prime or older zelda games for example and never get bored of it. I just think this is an innate issue with open world and why more games are turning to a hybrid style of smaller open areas to bridge the gap and make the world more interesting to explore.

    • @OrangeJuiceJaz
      @OrangeJuiceJaz  Год назад

      @@Marcorix2010 @patty I agree with both. When the main aspect of the game is that sense of wonder and discovery, it becomes far less exciting on a second playthrough. Story focused games experience this as well. Elden Ring and Dark Souls are actually good examples of the evolution of this, where the world, lore and environment is so cryptic along with a bigger focus on variable combat builds allows for replayability better.
      Really Tears of the Kingdom needs more in depth combat options, but far more likely judging by the trailers, actually deep, puzzle rich dungeons with fun unique gameplay segments.
