Interesting to see Bayliss’s riding style of keeping his head at the center line of the bike, making him look “crossed up.” Maybe one of the last competitive riders with that style. Very cool.
Terrific race coverage by SBK! This race coverage was soooo much better than the others I have been watching in clarity, sound (the commentators were not drowned out by the bikes), good pre-race buildup, and last, but not least, the FULL race. Why are all the other races in this season only 5-7 minutes long, no pre-race buildup, and the commentators barely audible over the bikes. Is this video a fluke, one that got posted by accident? As for the race itself, it was fantastic with Bayliss nipping Toseland at the line by .009 seconds!
It wasn't the wheelie that cost Toseland the race; rather, it was his line into the final chicane. By taking a defensive line into the right-hander, he compromised his exit through the left, resulting in him lifting the front wheel on the exit. Meanwhile, Bayliss took a wider line, straightened out the left, and that's what secured his win.

He'd have still made it to the line first though, the bad run out of the corner let Troy get alongside, the wheelie let Troy past.
