Man Trust me, I need more 2000s wsbk classic race. It was quite hard at that time to watch wsbk in my country. The era of Haga, Toseland, Spies, young J. Rea was really really exciting.
Marco was my favourite rider I really wish he was still alive and riding in moto GP fighting away such a tragedy 😭and as far as sic getting on a podium in WSBK when he was in moto gp on a one off ride is pretty fucking special ❤️58❤️
I still remember turning on the motogp race and seeing the crash that took super sic. It was sad because seeing him ride that satellite Honda and be in the top almost every race, I can see 58 and 93 in those repsol colors now
Simoncelli... what a racer! On the other hand: he spit into the soup of the championship. Could have waited instead of forcing Biaggi and Spies to almost crash
He could have won on the 1000cc motogp machines in 2012... The 800's with those high revving engines and his tall frame was a misfit for him... How cruel life can be... Everyone mises you Marco...
2009 was a horrible year for Haga. he left Yamahe in 2008 because he couldn't win with Yamaha and Spies arrived and smashed him with the bike he should've had. how ironic innit? he was so weak mentally anyway... i don't think Haga was strong enough mentally to maintain a lead in the points. Spies said it was an easy year for him compared to AMA Superbike in terms of rivalry. OOF. it was tougher for him to learn tracks and electronic aids than actually fighting other riders. O_O
Spies came into World Superbike fresh off a bitter rivalry with American Superbike teammate Mat Mladin. Mladin wasn't exactly known for being a nice guy, and fought Spies tooth and nail for the top step in the years previous. There was certainly no love left between the two when Spies departed for the world stage. Haga being the main rival to Spies was probably a welcome change of pace.
@LemonKush-be9sg dude are you aware that he stopped riding because he had multiple surgeries on his shoulders and couldn't ride a bike to the full potentiel? otherwise he would've came back to WSBK and would've been victorious again. you seem to be a smart ass... edit: oh i see... maybe you should quit smoking you can't see facts.
@LemonKush-be9sg he also explained that a GP bike is vastly different than a superbike. he had to change so many things in his riding style that it lead him to crash and injured himself (shoulders).
@LemonKush-be9sg Oh yeah, Spies had a _totally soft_ WSBK championship, where he walked all over no-names like... *checks notes* Noriyuki Haga, Max Biaggi, Carlos Checa, Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea. Obviously he was faking it.
I won't ever understand why Tardozzi didn't give Fabrizio orders to stay behind Haga. Nori would have arrived in Portimao with 15 points on Spies, instead of 10. Haga crashed at Portimao in race 1 (clearly he made a crucial mistake seeing Spies faster than him, maybe with 5 points more he would have felt less pressure) and then he lost the championship for six points. Let me explain, I know Haga fell short and failed to keep composure, but imho Ducati team handled badly the situation, especially knowing Haga wasn't goint to excel in Portimao (struggled hard in 2008 too) and wasn't known to keep cool his nerves. I know it would have gone against everything people calls "sport", but no doubt in a similar situation, with the teammate out of title chase and all the pressure of the world on Nori, I'd create easiest possible conditions for the title contender. R.I.P. Sic, he was a real talent and he did an amazing performance here.
Simoncelli was a great fighter but he never cared about the riders he overtook. He entered the corner like a bull, putting other riders in great danger. It's was not great sportsmanship.
Hey, WorldSBK, how about giving us a fucking spoiler alert in the description? Even though it's 11 yrs old, some of us either never watched or forgot. Womp womp 👎🏼

Sorry to all guys wsbk rider , Simoncelli is just in another level.
was sic a wild card ? wasn't he also competing as in moto 2 in 2009 ????
You are rigth. He raced here as a wildcard.
But he wasn't racing at Moto2, because it didn't exist yet. He was competing at 250😅
@@sergiodlrh7074 hahaha yeah my bad

Simoncelli irresponsible at the hairpin causing problems for Biaggi and Spies. Fabrizio being selfish and not a team player. Normal Italian style.
