Even the past 3yrs in when he's at the wrong end, he still coats the place with his aura & colour which we will miss in 2022. Big hole which can't be filled. Always smiling, clever self publisist. Who knows he might do an Alonso return..
I started watching MotoGP in 2005 I think when I was 15. Became a Rossi fan really fast and I will always remember this as one of his best races. As a Dutchman Assen is extra special aswell to me. This was first year of the 800cc bikes I believe. Casual scooters/marshalls standing next to the track. 😆

The 800s were just terrible. Except for some races. Where Assen 07 is a perfect example from. Was there I stood at the point where stoner came still in the end of the race. Also Rossi s 100 th win is something to never forget.
Rossi's cornering style changed just slightly from these era compared to today, not too much. In his early years with Yam, he's often seen slide his rear on corner entry. Maybe the smooth cornering style from Yam bike for years was too hard for him to change style drastically.
@@sobatkayu8369 the M1 post 2013 (after he came back from Ducati) was developed to suit JL99's style (super-smooth and high cornering speed, yet a bit lacking in rigidity).
@@haryosoo yep, until now Yamaha DNA still from JL era, I dont think they will be able to beat the Honda and Ducati powerhouse machine in that way. They could win some tracks, but mostly will be super difficult in underpowered situation. Suzuki too, their win in Austin was just a "gimmick" for me, just a bad luck from MM

What I love about watching these classic races is that we know that Stoner was champion that year, and now one can see the great riding by all the other riders too and appreciate it a lot more. Hopper hitting mid 50 degrees leaning angles during the race. I know he had his problems, but he had massive talent. Given the right bike - who knows what could've been?

I'll never forget this one, as it was my first ever Moto GP race i went to back in 2007 what a weekend. I still have the T-shirt that i bought lol Riding from Hampshire in the UK to Assen on a 2001 Yam R6 then back home all in 3 days....would i do it again???
Assen still seems to be a special place. Might be worth going to if the season starts back up. Especially if the pre-season test hold true, it's going to be a different season from last.

A real biker fan. Did you try to do Moto cornering on the open roads? In Italy Spain Portugal the kids all ride on moped scooter bikes plus they have the climate for it that's why there's so many on the grid. UK has a small population of bikers. Shame we don't do Moto Scooter racing! All those mirrors.. Postscript. just searched Scooter racing & they do! Even a Le Mans endurance one. Mind you if there's wheels on it we'll race it. Shopping trolleys? Postscript. Yup they do, even a jet power one!

2007 was the year i got my driver's license and went to this race by bike with my dad and two of his friends. My dad even brought my sister on the back. It was an amazing event, a loaded circuit and a day I will never forget. Forza Rossi!
Anyone with eyeballs could see Pedrosa from day one was already head and shoulders better than NH. Nicky's ceiling was a 'consistent' podium challenger. Dani was 'Alien' status almost from day one

Rossi was just on reals and was very fast and clean in his ridding and every one always want to beat him..he just love a challenge..is why is my #1 100% rider even now he is much older..they treat him out 10 world championship..he is bless with a good heart and full of love for all don't matter who you are..stay bless bro and be safe..take care❤👌😁

By his own very high standards 2007 was season riddles with errors for The Doctor but in reality Casey Stoner was that damn good that year there was very little he could have done tbh. It was a year of serious underachievement not just for himself as he got pipped to runners up spot by a resurgent Pedrosa, but also for Yamaha who dropped the ball with their first M1 of the 800cc Motogp era and especially Michelin who dropped the ball just as badly when it came to tires compared to Bridgestone in what was MotoGp's penultimate tire war season but this one of 4 wins across the season did prove that Vale had lost none of his magic during that season

Hopper biggest mistake was to move to Kawasaki in 2008 for more $. Suzuki since 2006 it was already a competitive machine
