Needed a couple more verses, but what a lovely, catchy hook of a chorus. It also has a terrific and too-short solo! This could have been Modern English's most popular song. It would be terrific if a band filled it out and re-released it. Of course, the guys in Modern English might feel quite differently about the prospect....
This song should be played by all radio / DJs... when this Covid-19 pandemic ends* (or at least becomes manageable)

Every song from After the Snow and Ricochet Days are gems that I'm glad I was able to appreciate at the time they were released. Still listening today. They weren't quite the same after that losing Richard Brown on the drums and Stephen Walker on Keyboards.

Sadly I wasn't into Modern English back in the day in the UK (how misguided I was lol), it was all Japan, the Smiths, Bunnymen, Eurythmics, etc our Student Union ... my bad, but now I'm making amends with them playing in the car at least once a week.

@@pamelafoxx129 Yeah, just poking some fun at the fashion styles of 1984. If I went back through my parent's old photo albums I'm sure I would be horrified at some of my 14-year-old-me clothing choices in 1984.
This is also my first time finally seeing this video and it was actually shown on MTV to my knowledge. It was one of those "hit or miss" videos on MTV since it grabbed light rotation for two months apparently without getting any significant airplay (unlike Thompson Twins "Hold Me Now" and Phil Collins "Against All Odds"). That was why I have never seen the video, but it is pretty good.
I’m listening to the after the snow album on CD and they have a really good drummer. Fantastic keyboard player as well.

Loved this track back when WLIR FM in Long Island used to spin it frequently. Should have been as big as I’ll Melt With You, IMO. I think the song loses some energy during the verses while the chorus is super energetic.
