I had the vinyl in 1981, I lent it to a friend a year later and never got it back. Luckily I found another copy. Years later it mysteriously disappeared (I still think my brother stole it). It was later released on CD, and then one drunken night in the late 90s, I agreed to lend the CD to a friend who SWORE he’d get it back to me. Never happened. And then FINALLY, it became available to download! I LOVE this album…..except Nico. That’s a tough one to get through.

I was at that show. A few years before I became a rock hack, I travelled from Scotland with my buddy Alex Fergusson (future founder member of Psychic TV) because we were fans of all four musicians. I have to say the production on the record is poor, perhaps because it was rushed out only weeks after the gig. There's a bootleg of outtakes, but as it's an audience recording the sound is dire.
Still - a legendary event. Ayers, Cale, Nico, Eno - dubbed ACNE by the music press! Btw I'm wearing a t-shirt with the cover image as a type this.

I was lucky enough to watch a week of rehearsals at the ex Walpole Cinema in Ealing thanks to the backing singers who let me sneak in with them to watch and I even sat with Nico at one point. I love this album.

I’m a long time fan of all of them, especially Kevin Ayers, Eno, John Cale, and Robert Wyatt. I’ve always wished there was an expanded version. I’ve heard there were outtakes. Was this concert ever filmed?

Hey great video 👍 .. you seem like you really know your music. I wonder if you or anyone reading this comment can help me identify a Rock song that I used to listen to years ago but I actually lost the cd that it was on.. It was a 70s Rock compilation CD and the song was quite about an encounter with Aliens / UFO’s and it had quite fast paced galloping riff guitar sounds. Some of the lyrics I remember were “ Couldn’t believe my eyes.. out of the night suddenly it appeared.. someone’s master plan.. And I’m almost sure there was certain parts of song where the band sang the word Aliens .. and also “ mother mother “ in a soft way.. I have searched and searched Google and nothing shows up.. I just can’t remember the rest of the lyrics, but hopefully some Rock fans will be able to help. I would really appreciate it 👍
