hover the drone over the fly dump and the vehicle and make sure the offender can see the drone, their face and reaction would be gold

Can you imagine how much trash disposal one could pay for for the cost of putting ex-SAS members in some random field in the hopes they'll catch "flytippers"? Perhaps the problem is much, much deeper than the "flytippers"? This may just make the problem even worse..

This would be a piece of cake for ex special forces. No having to bag up your own poop and carrying it with you, warm bed at nights.

I suppose it keeps them out of trouble while they are not dogging.

I live in a small city and regularly see fly tipping on edge of countryside regularly in the same place. They always tip to block a field or track so farmer has to clear up mess. I absolutely feel these fly tippers are despicable for what they do. Punishment does not fit the crime. Fines need to be increased to cause real financial damage to those individuals engaging in this crime. Even a custodial sentence is not enough.

Sadly, this cannot be cost-effective but good PR to make it look like the council is doing something. The rise was totally predictable when excessive charges for waste were introduced.

It seems to me that the skill set that is valuable here is not the camouflage and concealment. It is not the observation and photography. At least not only. These things can be done by almost anyone with the right gear and some basic training. No the real value here is the patience. The ability to stay in the same spot, remaining fairly still and alert all day. Perhaps over several days and all kinds of weather. That is a hard learnt skill.

Just let the ex lads kick the living crap out of the fly tippers, they'll bloody think twice next time. A good bit of hickory always gets the job done!

Probably the fine for Fly tipping is around 100 pounds; makes tipping a cheap option. Seems the Law, in many Western Countries, is bending backwards to not offend CRIMINALS. The first fine to those criminals should be the confiscation of their vehicle and a fine of 5000 pounds,

Wish durham council gave a toss about it ,i'm sick of reporting fly tippers & nothing is done about it at all. All it would take is some cheap game camera's in each hotspot to catch them.
