underrated film. shit on by asshat critics but its a complete film, not an easy task considering the size of the book and the intricate details plus david lynch was undercut by the money people. we will never see the movie as it was intended. its a complete piece of art that stands the test of time. the sets were beautiful and the cast was exquisit imo. not perfect, but i love it and so do a lot of people who watched this in the theaters in 1984.
I remember when this movie was coming out and heard Toto was doing the soundtrack and I thought what the hell. But they really did a great job holding that film together with all the issues filming then of course the hate for the film.
Honestly, I loved this version of Dune, flaws and all. It was a noble effort. I like the new version too, but I don't feel you have to hate one to love the other.
I love this song! David Paich, Steve Lukather, 3 Pocaro brothers (Jeff, Steve & Mike) !!! There will never be another band can come close to what Toto did. There's a different remake of this floating around now from Toto's "40 Tours Around the Sun" collection called "Desert Theme" :ruclips.net/video/6WMy-AStPhE/видео.html
I think the new one is better. However, my two main complaints are that the music isn’t very memorable and the colors of the environments are really drab.
@@MaverickMagnus Yeah, and the HBO series, Dune: Prophecy, is set 10,000 years before the events of the first book and focuses on the formation of the Bene Gesserit.
Don't know and don't care. I tried watching the remake, but when they mispronounced HARKONONNEN, I stopped watching, as much as I like Timothée Chalamet, HE can NEVER outdo Kyle MacLachlan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks Ill give you, but the Jessica portrayal was terrible. That may not have been the actresses fault, but she came across as a weak, whiny, aristocrat in this version which is NOTHING like she was in the book. She was one of the strongest, toughest, and most capable characters in the books.
completely agree, lady jessica is beautiful here unlike that crackhead they chose for the new one, and chani has actual elfen features, zendaya show sup more, but her acting is whatever, and her role is diminished in the new one, instead of a loyal wife in spirit, shes a whiny skeptic.
Thank God I'm not the only one you thinks this as well. Zendya co star in the second movie is way hotter and should have been cast as chani. Zendya killed the new remake for me hopeless actor and serves the issue of never cast musicians in acting roles. I was very disappointed they also didn't play this beautiful song
I can't agree with that look I grew up with this version being the stand up version it is however the new ones in 2021 and 2024 have their places etched in the annals of history and are seen for wonders that they wished to be and tell the stories they wanted to deliver.
This is one of the best closing credits themes of all time.
The best piece of music in the world❤
Written by David Paich & Jeff Porcaro of Toto.
Iconic 80’s film.

I like the fade away with the sand dunes to the ocean waves to the actual end credits. That was dope. Very good fan edit.
🙌🏽 🔥 🔥
Thanks, brother!
The 1984 dune was my favorite. Maybe because it was the first I saw. But its like everything just fit into place.
simply, the musical art of this film... Is The Best forever 🙌🏼✨️🎵
La más grande Banda de todos los tiempos produciendo solo genialidades.TOTO una constelación de genios.
Grossartige Zusammenfassung und mega Musik !!
Love the HD quality and edit you did. Love this song.
Much appreciated! Glad you liked it
Il miglior film di fantascienza!
Virginia Madsen ❤️
People hated on Highlander (1985) with the soundtrack done by Queen. Now it’s a cult classic.
Yes, the new version of Dune is excellent, but I am still am very fond the 1984 movie and the soundtrack by Toto is a strong reason!
Great end credit redo..Toto 👑💖
As much as Hans Zimmer is a great composer I still prefer this Toto's version.
I miss credit curtain calls with creepy shaky stills of the cast
i miss dune versions where the actors didnt act like they were on a massive dose of robitussin (yes im looking at you denis)
The music was awesome. One of my favorite sountracks that I own.

Thank you. Two renditions of the same film.
Quirky film but I really enjoy it. It’s very 80’s which allows me to view it a different lense.

Indeed. A beautiful yet melancholic melody.😊
The album version lacked the orchestra and choir.
Which is a damn shame because this version is so lush and beautiful.
@@desotowright Somebody should make a mashup between both versions, and include the album ending
_Dune '84_ > _Dune 2021_
Not enough Soft Rock. Seriously tho, Toto's score is majestic.
I think the new one is better. However, my two main complaints are that the music isn’t very memorable and the colors of the environments are really drab.
JAMAIS LA daube de Villeneuve n arrivera à la cheville de LYNCH ............. une pure merveille ...... bande sonore y compris
I can’t stand that they didn’t end Dune remake in 2 movies. There talking about a 3rd or it going to a TV show.?. WTF
Both. HBO is making a prequel series this year, and Dune 3 is in production.
They adapted the first book in these two movies. Third movie will be based in "Dune: Messiah".
@@MaverickMagnus Yeah, and the HBO series, Dune: Prophecy, is set 10,000 years before the events of the first book and focuses on the formation of the Bene Gesserit.
denis still had enough robitussin left over for another movie and series...

The actresses in the original Dune are light years better in looks and talent than any subsequent remakes.
Looks Ill give you, but the Jessica portrayal was terrible. That may not have been the actresses fault, but she came across as a weak, whiny, aristocrat in this version which is NOTHING like she was in the book. She was one of the strongest, toughest, and most capable characters in the books.
Have you even watched Dune (2021)?
@@77fonebone I don't care about the God damn book
To be fair, the new ones have no chance as Virginia Madsen was the most beautiful woman ever to grace this island Earth.

Sean Young was so beautiful and mesmerizing as Chani. Zendaya pales in comparison.

@@joshb8233Never cast musicians in acting roles ? COUGH, Sting ? He's the best feyd I have ever seen.
Zendaya is not ugly, but not beautiful either, she is OK
The remake absolutely SUCKS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
bland i find it

Love the music from tottol great theatrics!
