- Ohio State senior and NCAA finalist, Sammy Sasso was shot in the stomach in an attempted robbery last night near the Ohio State campus. Sasso has undergone two surgeries and is currently in stable condition.

Terrible news but glad he's expected to make a full recovery. What a crazy world we live in.

I am so sick and tired of these loathsome criminals robbing, shooting, & killing people. Law enforcement needs to crack down on arresting, prosecuting, & harshly sentencing these monsters, most of whom are repeat career criminals that have been let back out on the street with a slap on the wrist or no significant punishment at all. One of my young cousins was just shot in Florida less than a month ago - he was shot in the stomach as well and is still recovering. I hope Sammy makes a full recovery, but it will definitely be a tough stretch until he does. I hope that they got the bstrd that did this.

When I was in college, I hardly ever walk outside around campus at night. I heard stories of people randomly got beaten up with a baseball bat near campus when I was in school. That was like 15y ago. Now the world is even worse.

Let's get real here people. When are we going to stop giving these criminals the kid glove treatment and start punishing convicted criminals harshly. We as a nation need to send a clear message to people who are inclined to commit violent crime! Do it and you will face the death penalty! It is as simple as that. Or ship convicted criminals overseas to penal colonies in the developing world and revoke their travel rights.. The very fact that we accept violent crime at all is a clear sign we as a nation have lost our sense of reason.
The whole idea that our politicians are more focused on removing innocent law abiding citizens rights to defend themselves than attacking with just penalties convicted criminals is a disgrace to our humanity. To all the city leaders prosrcutors and judges in Columbus Ohio please get tough on crime and please start to send a message to those who break the law by violently hurting others. If they are convicted give them the harshest penalties you can. And start to clean up the streets of Columbus. Set an example that we will not tolerate this kind of behavior in our city. In addition all the City Council members you all should be riding with the cops for at least a couple months before you take your seat and get a taste of what they deal with on a day to day basis. Let's start cleaning up our city before it turns into a wasteland of death crime and disorder. A soft on crime ideology leads to a lawless city where law abiding citizens are held hostage to the worst of human kind! It is not a socioeconomic thing at all it is a bad behavior thing!!!

I am so sorry to hear that. It is a damn shame ppl work hard for their money and goods and some low-life wants to steal it. I get stealing for hunger at a grogery store of there are no shelters or food banks in your city or surrounding cities close to you, but stealing from a person and hurting someone. Some ppl need religion to know that a higher power is watching you and you are always caught doing evil deeds, whether you are punished immediately or not. This person will get theirs.
