i was 2 years old and it may sound like i’m lying but i remember bits and pieces of my dad watching this game and him being so ecstatic at the end. great memories
I'm glad to say I got to see Tebow and my GATORS play live. That 08 team was one the best NCAA teams ever but that Ole Miss lost still hurts. But it was the best thing that could happened to us. That one loss created a monster that nobody was ready for.
Man this Florida team was outrageously stack! I chuckle a lil bit every time the announcer says a certain player name because I forgot they had some many great players. Side note: Percy Harvin was the best player on the field that night!
@@watto1431rules nowadays are tailored in favor of the offense and safety of the players the later i have no problem with but some calls against the defense ie Pass interference or hitting the qb are awful in current football & given teams pass more than ever because of these new rules it’s only exacerbated the problems of bad calls. The last Super Bowl for example where they called PI against the eagles at the end of the game and pretty much handed the chiefs the trophy.
This was the year Sam Bradford the Oklahoma QB won the 2008 Hiesman trophy with the number 1 ranked.Against Tim Tebow the 2007 Hiesman trophy winner.I wanted Oklahoma to win but Florida had a little dynasty going on(also Florida won it 2006)ts crazy because Bradford and Tebow got drafted in the NFL and neither of them 2 had an impact in the pros. 🤦♂️ But they were everything in college football but weren't NFL material. It was a good game tho hats off to both teams 🏈
Tebow and Bradfort were absolute superstars. Their trash NFL career cannot be compared to how excellent they were in college because it takes away from how good they were and shouldn't. I bet this game was a big deal and exciting.
The SEC in the 2000s .. My oh my .. And Sam Bradford really was one of the GREAT college quarterbacks of all-time .. But that 2000s SEC era mannnnn .. There was a reason they called it the Speed Earns Championships Conference lol
Wassup bro, I can honestly tell you Oklahoma to me is still a very talented program, especially on the perimeter and I believe y’all are bringing in excellent talent at QB. I believe the main reason OU is struggling starts at the line of scrimmage, which is why y’all were so consistently good (even dominant at times) from 2000-2010 to go along with those great offenses, which is why y’all were one of the very few programs nationally that could compete with SEC top dogs during that era, and as you watched in this game, OU very seriously was just as physical and fast as any SEC team. When OU had trench beast like Gerald McCoy and Trent Williams, you guys were as good as any program in the country, so I believe it begins there.
Yeah you paid the bcs to get in after getting destroyed by Texas that year. you lost your QB, you lost the natty and you've never recovered. it's called Karma. To still be a sooner fan after cheating is despicable in every way.
i saw one somewhere: 02/04/1985: I am doing 1989 Jeep Powerwheel commercial...in my back yard.....1993: Duke - Grant Hill. Cal ...I got a pack with a mail in card: all 1994 lotter picks "i may have torn the UCONN Donyell Marshall"
Wrong should have been TX. If the Big 12 didn’t have stupid rules and it was SEC rules Texas would have gone to the Big 12 championship which would have pushed them ahead of Oklahoma. Florida beat Oklahoma by 10, Texas beat Oklahoma by 10.
True but it lacks context. OU's version of Persy Harvin was injured this game (Demarco Murray). We lacked explosive plays throughout the game and that could have been the difference maker.
Yea who knows? Thanks to the dumbass system college football used for many decades to determine its champion, we'll never know. Would 2006 USC have beaten Florida / Ohio St.? Would 2004 USC have beaten Auburn? Would 2003 USC have beaten LSU? Thankfully the playoff exists and will be expanded next year so these silly "what if" scenarios no longer need to keep being brought up.
Objectively speaking and biases aside, why would any of those teams deserve to be in over OU? It's easy to claim that the team in defeat didn't "deserve" to be there. That's a lazy take IMO.
Oklahoma will Never reach this game again. Joining the Sec, buried them into obscurity and irrelevance. All your talent will go elsewhere. Same thing for Nebraska. Old football powerhouses have made way for new powerhouses. The SEC. Michigan cheated and so did Ohio State. Big 10 has another thing coming.
Wish USC vs Florida instead of Chokelahoma. USC had the swagger of Bama today. And a loaded squad. Offense and defense especially. Florida only won by 10 we all know Chokelahoma is always Chokelahoma. USC wouldve ran over both these teams b4 next year Bama changed college football
Those Tebow Gator squads were an absolute blast to watch. When Florida teams have great coaches they are juggernauts.

Damn near an NFL pro bowl game lol
Man this Florida team was outrageously stack! I chuckle a lil bit every time the announcer says a certain player name because I forgot they had some many great players. Side note: Percy Harvin was the best player on the field that night!
the last of football being football. this is the era that got me into the game
I’m trying to get into it now , how different is it ? Not from US so that’s why I’m only just starting

Was thinking the same thing. I’ve seen things on the field that I don’t think I’ll ever see again. I’m glad I was able to be a witness 💯
Damn you started late, I started watching when I was 10 back in 2003
@@officialtoastyy watching? Lol
I started playing when i was 8
Gresham is from my hometown of Ardmore, OK. OU and Gresham had every single person in our town yelling when he caught that first TD.
Thanks for this. Especially after the Florida win last night.
Hate the gators but UF P. Harvin is one of the most underrated & forgotten players of recent memory

Bradford got injured too much
Tebow never got a fair shot. His run at Denver was awesome but still got shat on for his beliefs
Imagine if Demarco Murray would have been able to play this game.
4:19 beast of a tackle
That’d be such a nice madden animation
Tebow and Bradfort were absolute superstars. Their trash NFL career cannot be compared to how excellent they were in college because it takes away from how good they were and shouldn't. I bet this game was a big deal and exciting.
True but Tebow was the difference maker in this game. Out played Bradford by a mile.
Tebow never got a fair shot in the nfl
Tebow's coronation as the king of college football.
The SEC in the 2000s .. My oh my .. And Sam Bradford really was one of the GREAT college quarterbacks of all-time .. But that 2000s SEC era mannnnn .. There was a reason they called it the Speed Earns Championships Conference lol
I HAAATE FLORIDA. BUT I am glad Tebow won it all. He is such a great person.
Man, to watch that hit onnthe sideline with no call makes me miss this era....and Cocaine
The fourth and goal and the pick at goal line. Killed ou
As an Oklahoma fan, I just want to see us back in this game again I don’t even care if we win.

best football team ever
The Big 10 and Big 12 teams can’t handle the speed of the SEC teams, as this game shows.
Bucks 13: "not taking sprite over gatorade"
Wild OU lost to LSU And Florida Gators. I get the USC game. But stoops should have at least two nattys.
You could never beat Hardin to the corner.
Let’s go gators
Gators best
Oklahoma was dumb as hell not putting the ball in Demarco Murray hands more
Should’ve been USC vs Florida that year
How? I believe OU had like 1 loss that yr against a really good TX team. OU literally murdered everyone else they played that season.
Wrong should have been TX. If the Big 12 didn’t have stupid rules and it was SEC rules Texas would have gone to the Big 12 championship which would have pushed them ahead of Oklahoma. Florida beat Oklahoma by 10, Texas beat Oklahoma by 10.
Tebow beat Oklahoma!
Shouldve been texas in that game
Whatever too late 😎💅
too bad so sad
Possibly. That said, OU would have had a really good shot at winning had Demarco Murray played.
Oklahoma loses the NC quite a bit
True but it lacks context. OU's version of Persy Harvin was injured this game (Demarco Murray). We lacked explosive plays throughout the game and that could have been the difference maker.
With today's rules Florida loses this game

It’s crazy to think that it’s currently August 3rd, 2024 at 12:55 am and OU STILL SUCKS!

Usc would of whooped both in 08
Not the gators....real defense
Sike
Now that's funny!!!😂😂😂😂
Florida was the best team in the nation. If USC would of beat both why weren't they playing?
