As a major ducks fan, I’m not even mad the ducks lost this game. This Ohio state team had a record for 1st round draft picks in a single year, and a lot of them are excellent players in the NFL. This was a good ducks team that maybe wins a natty any other year, but this Ohio state team was one of the best teams in history PERIOD! nothing but respect to Ohio state! GO DUCKS!
Funny thing is the best Ohio state player from that draft went 47nd overall #cantguardmike
People do forget how good that team was in terms of NFL talent. Bosa, Elliott, Lee, Apple, Powell, Marshall, Thomas, Samuel, Bennett, Hubbard, etc. were all drafted fairly well. Those are just the guys off the top of my head. The O-Line all made the NFL as I recall and they still play too.

They were a good team but not in the top 5 Championship teams in the BCS era. 2011 and 2012 Alabama, 2008 Florida, 2005 Longhorns, 2013 FSU, and 2004 USC were all better.

Jonathan Chavez If he’s good enough it shouldn’t matter. He got beat out by Ryan Tannehill who had never been good at any other place and turned into a top 5 qb and led them to the AFC title game. Mariota could still turn it around but he’s been a disappointment so far. I think he’ll get a shot to prove himself in LV this year
Ohio State could win so many of their games by huge margins ...but always seems to do their best to beat themselves. Agonizing for us Buckeye fans.

OSU turned it over 4 times and still won by 22. They could’ve dropped 56 if they weren’t sloppy. Meyer had a great game plan to contain Mariota. Contain him like a bull in a ring....don’t over pursue. One of the best at prepping for bowls ever. Glad he’s with my Jags!
i remember being in elementary school and wanting to stay up and watch this but my dad wouldn’t let me bc they weren’t likely to win, so i told him to leave me a note if they won. In the morning i woke up to a note on my osu helmet and have never been happier
Imagine how bad this blowout would have been if you take even half the turnovers away. The game against Alabama was so much better. That game had me on the edge of my seat! This title from Ohio state I liked better than the 2002 version. They took down the best team college football has seen in my lifetime. Alabama had been considered impossible to run the football against...Zeke just could not be stopped! I'm pretty sure my voice cracked beyond repair, roaring at the TV during that game.

Watching this game always makes me chilled.
That QB sneak on 4th and 1 at about the 5:05 mark of the video is what wins championships. Cardale's play to bounce outside on a sneak was crazy to pick that up, but how many wide receivers really block on the outside on a QB sneak. Corey Smith could have taken the play off knowing that the ball is just going up the middle for a yard or 2 but he made the play just as much as Cardale. He doesn't make that block, Ohio State loses yards

I hope a different game happens someday for the final instead of an stupid Alabama vs Clemson game, this is by far the only game where Alabama or Clemson didn't play, I nowadays like this game though Oregon lost, for being the only different CFP game.
Clemson just became a power house. You will see them more. But teams like Ohio State, Penn State, lsu, Georgia are always threats just inconsistent. But when they're contenders they are really good, world beaters. Like this 2015 Ohio State team or Georgia the last few years

I predicted that Ohio State would win the sugar bowl and the championship game, but now I wish Oregon won because they aren’t as good as they used. Honestly it’s going to take a while for Oregon to get back to where they were. But Ohio State is still really good. We probably won’t see Oregon in the top 4, for a while, and what I mean by that is it being bowl week where they play these 3 bowl games and Oregon is still in the top four. Nice finish for both teams though

My family is from Columbus Ohio and I am a fan, but I still feel bad for the poor Oregon Ducks who have been so good for so long and still don't have a national championship in recent memory

These are the great Championship games. Not Alabama vs Clemson every year. Alabama needs a tougher schedule like everyone else and I get tired of the Big 10 getting cheated out of the final four because the lack of money and TV views. What about the fans? It's sad that teams that are top 10 have 11-1, 10-2 seasons can't get in... Pack 12, Big 12, these conferences always get overlooked also.

I don't begrudge Ohio State's win, the Oregon "D" let them down. However, what people don't mention is the fact that MM was without his 3 best wide receivers. Pharoh Brown had that devastating knee injury against Utah. Darren Carrington was DQ'd for failing a random drug test, and Devon Allen injured his knee on the opening kickoff, that was half their offense on the sideline. With such an explosive offense, those players may have given Oregon a more competitive chance. But congratulations to Ohio State 👏 they were the better team that night.

Such a sloppy game by OHIO ST. This game it looked like our 3rd string QB was playing! Lol. We had at least 4 turnovers! But just a better defense than Oregon and a better run game, too.
It was sloppy, but the biggest difference in this game was the size and strength of the line on both sides of the ball. OSU had Mariota scrambling out of the pocket on almost every pass attempt and Oregon's D-line had to fly off the ball to even get a stalemate. Honestly considering the size difference the Oregon D-line played a very respectable game. It was just too much for them.
