I’ll tell ya, I felt much better about the matchup against Oregon than I did against Alabama. This was such an unforgettable season, and I will never forget what a ride it was in 14. GO BUCKS!!
Not really.... I'm a buckeye. After the Wisconsin game I understood that it was over. Lol urban Myer probably the greatest motivation coach also unfortunately led to his demimize... Brightest candles burn out first I guess
As a big Oregon Duck fan i cant say i was too mad about this loss. Ohio state had championship depth and gave Oregon their toughest game of the season by far. Yeah there were some dropped balls by the Ducks and they probably could have played better than they did but the bottom line is that Ohio State was the better team in that point in time. Respect to Ohio state. Go ducks!
yeah you probably don't have shoulders that are literally above your head either hahah that photo though, dude. that photo. I thought it was a picture of him when I first glanced at it lol you could be "The Man In Black," bro haha he got mad ass.
+Spurs/Kings/Seahawks Fan Don't listen to that buffoon. Turnovers are part of the game. I still remember some of our fans saying that Ohio State would've blown out Bama if not for turnovers. For fuck's sake do people not realize that Bama turned over the ball 3 times and we only turned it over 2 times. It was a great game by both sides.
***** It isn't like the players tried to give the ball up on purpose. That's like saying Florida State gave the ball to Oregon just so Oregon could win. Hypothetical things don't matter and someone could say IF Bama didn't throw the ball so much, they probably would've beat Ohio State IF they ran Derrick Henry most of the game.
***** "They are just simply not B1G, and cannot hold in long enough to even think about beating OSU." Do you realize the PAC 12 has a stronger conference right? However being in a stronger conference doesn't mean you have best team in the nation. Big Ten might be the 3rd-4th best conference, however Big Ten has 2 elite teams like Michigan State and Ohio State. I could care less about conference pride.
Warriors/Blackhawks/Patriots Fan "Those missed throws. All those were unforced errors. Without those it would have been a blowout for Oregon." I still think Oregon would've lost by 7 points because they literally had no defense and rushing attack. For sure it would've been a closer game, but to say they would blow out Ohio State is little bit of a stretch.
Warriors/Blackhawks/Patriots Fan I totally agree with what you're talking about, and I agree that dude is really biased. But one of your comments said Oregon would've blown them out and here it is "Without those it would have been a blowout for Oregon". I hate when fans say if not for turnovers we would've blown them out because the other team could've made just as many mistakes.
- DeVonta Smith was uncoverable, Najee Harris unstoppable and Mac Jones impeccable. With a performance that was both surgical and explosive, No. 1 Alabama won the College Football Playoff national championship game 52-24 Zeke's run does not compare to the beat down Smith dished out to the Ohio State defense, Alabama is 4-1 against the Bucks.
@@Primus54 Yes' Ohio State did not have enough Southern players to win that game. Smith did so much damage to the Bucks he sat out the 2nd half. Whats OSU's record against the Alabama any way? 1-4
@@Primus54 Smith destroyed Ohio State and sat out the 2nd. half. Reminds me when Urban Meyer took his Florida Gators to play the Ohio State Buckeyes. Urban put a real beating on the Bucks. But he learned SEC football which helped him later on in his carrear.
@HALLOW’S GATE - That's what I always say, poor Mariota had half his players in jail or disabled by that game. Was bouncing the ball off the face, chest, and stomachs of WRs that couldn't catch a pass. Urban doesn't get credit for that, the last 3 games of our season were played by a QB he didn't want playing, didn't recruit, and who he refused to play next season. He went back to his drunken QB once he healed up. And we never got to a Natty again. Until this upcoming season. The drunken QB wasn't drafted, never won a Natty or PlayOff game, walked on and fired from NFL twice now. The Natty winning QB still making $675K/year and heading from NFL practice QB to backup QB..
The fact that Mariota who is not a 5star qb took a no star oregon team to the natty is impressive then ohio state winning it..oregon coulve wok this game had he had all his receiver and some drop passes along the way..dont forget this oregon team make florida st quit in the 🌹 bowl
@HALLOW’S GATE yup they have 5star depths at every position like bama clemson etc it couldve been an embarrassing if oregon win so they paid them refs to control the game too
Yep, Ohio State and Oregon (when at full strength) both hotter than ebbtide, FSU, and Clemson that season... FSU was on the decline from the previous season and barely squeaked out wins versus other good teams... Ohio State and full Oregon would have been a real battle down to the wire... The brutal power of "bulldozer" "cannon arm" "12 gauge shotgun" '3rd String' QB #12 Cardale Jones in only his 3rd start prolly would have still tipped the game to tOSU... tOSU stayed hot every season and should have been in all 4 just past Natty's, as well, but Meyer did something weird/stupid every season to keep us out... -a Buckeye fan
I remember after Ohio State beat Bama, people were hyping up Oregon, and expected them to blow out the Buckeyes; and all the time I'm saying to myself "Do people NOT see the buzzsaw that's about to hit Oregon?" And sure enough, the whole country did.
I was cheering for OSU, even though I'm not a true Buckeye fan. They were really impressive in the playoff. They took down the power of Bama and the speed of Oregon. They definitely deserve the title.
Man Elliott was a BEAST! You'd think he was down and buried under a pile, then he's popping out the other side, like whack-a-mole. And Cardale, what poise for someone who was put in at the end of the season. I like it when we are the underdogs and surprise the heck out of people. I hope we come through on Monday!
@@tdayski Only a few. You'll never see Vandy, Ole Miss, MIss St, Kentucky, SC, Missouri, Texas A&M, etc. in the NC game. Bama supported the conference for a while but I think we all know their run is over. Every once in a while another SEC team steps up but an SEC team in the NC game each year is not likely to happen anymore.
I’ll never forget this. It was my senior year of high school and the city of Columbus went crazy after the buckeyes won. I used to train at OSU for Track and the it was complete pandemonium I think this championship had more of an impact on the State of Ohio than when the Cavs won their title.
I wish Oregon didn't lose Devon Allen and carrington 2 (Allen broken leg) (carrington drug use test in the last 48 hours) it might of been a closer game
+Andrew Antonazzo I bet you if you asked the players how hard they played.. They would have told you they played their asses of... Oregon was the team that didn't play their best, Your coach read our playbook in 2011 which isn't fair. And I remember the Coaches telling Ohio St players that everyone will remember this game, Before the game Urban Meyer and players said that they would put their best effort. Your just saying that because that's not the best you've seen Ohio State play... Well This isn't the best we've seen Oregon play.
Watch the Alabama game playoff win for the Bucks then this game back to back like I just did. You will see just how far the Gap between these teams really was. Honestly the Nat'l Championship was won at the sugar Bowl this would have gone to Bama if the Bucks would have lost. Ducks were manhandled the entire game it was never even close. I am pretty sure that was the best Oregon could have played, the best they have ever played or will ever play again.
I remember how absolutely certain so many in the national sports media agreed that Ohio State should never have made the playoffs. It was awesome to watch them beat both Alabama and Oregon and win the National Championship!
This was Ohio State's first win over Alabama in over a hundred plus years. and Ohio States last national championship. I bet Ohio State fans wish they had a 4-1 record over over Alabama and would give up this win to be 4-1 over Alabama. But it is what it is, Just like Ohio States 2-12 loss record in bowl games against the SEC.
VisaCreditCarD it's good to be a Buckeye! I always hope no matter what our team looks like in the pre-season, but I never thought we'd be in the playoffs this year. I'm glad they proved me wrong. O-H!
GaBuckeye Good one? Lmao you expect to beat Clemson with only a defense? Clemson has a better offense and will run straight through Ohio St's defense while Ohio St's offense will be struggling against Clemson's defense.
Can I just point out that at 26:00, Cardale Jones absolutely trucks Oregon's noseguard? What other quarterback has the testicular fortitude to do something like that? Congratulations Buckeyes, O-H..!!!
Pat Smith This is the most "PROFOUND" statement I've seen so far..."fundamentally amazing" ..IT IS SO TRUE..!...the team that "EXECUTES THE FUNDAMENTALS THE BEST" will ALWAYS PREVAIL...!!! An "excellant observation"....! Of course ....SIZE, SPEED, AND PHYSICALITY HELPS A LOT..!..But STILL "EXECUTING THE BASICS" ...IS.. "KEY"... TO SUCCESS ! Urban Meyer has been sucessful everywhere he's been,... and always stresses fundamentals..!...plus tOSU has been fundamentally sound since the days of Woody Hayes.!!! ..(I saw Woody's teams "LIVE").....for the most part...they have been basically sound in the basics. ..that combination of tOSU and Urban Meyer is a "FUNDAMENTALLY DEADLY" combination.for the opposition.!...and it's the "BEST REASON" I can think of, for a possible "REPEAT"....? "ONE" game at a time..!.. of course !
Pat Smith if you ask Skip Bayless, ANY Big 12 team should get in over Ohio State at ANY time, ANYwhere. even after Ohio State proved they were the undisputed best team in the country, he still cries that TCU should've gotten in over OSU.... and we'd be dealing with another Alabama National Championship.
Yeah Pat, Bayless is a "backbiter"...he wasn't talking that way in Arlington, Tx the night of the CFP-NC on Jan 12. ....BUT I think everyone knows Bayless is an Oklahoma Sooners "HOMIE"...and the Big 12, in tune with that,.!..Those guys all pretend to be impartial....BUT they do a terrible job of it.....because when "Push comes to Shove" they will show YOU "WHO THEY FAVOR"..just like any other FAN-ATIC !!!.Ohio Against The World
Indeed he did, with 246 yards to go with that. It is going to be several years, perhaps a decade or two, before any other Running Back breaks that record in a National Championship game. He did set the bar very high for future running backs in future national championship games. I just hope he can repeat his level of performance throughout 2015 season, but that depends heavily on the Offense's Line who helped him greatly during the last 3 games of 2014 season.
Zack Jalamani Hell, we can live the rest of our lives before we see a three game stretch like Elliott had -- 696 yards in what amounted to three elimination games.
Zack Jalamani The 246 yards is what I'm impressed with, I don't give a fuck about the 4 touchdowns even though they were on long runs, but I hate it when they make a big deal about a guy scoring a lot of touchdowns cause a lot of times most of them were just from 1 or 2 yards out
TheAnimationLads which is why we ran the gauntlet and won it all? Yeah because the best team in college never wins the national championship game. Gtf outta here with that garbage bro
In the Ohio media, it was reported in commentary after this win that the Ohio State defense had figured out Oregon and Mariota's tempo after that first touchdown. It was like, "yeah, they just burned us for an TD on the opening series, but we got 'em now" I don't know if that is true, but what I do know is that OSU's offensive line completely dominated Oregon's defensive front.
I remember after Ohio State beat Bama, people were hyping up Oregon, and expected them to blow out the Buckeyes; and all the time I'm saying to myself "Do people NOT see the buzzsaw that's about to hit Oregon?" And sure enough, the whole country did.
I was thinking the same way. Looking at Wisconsin's and Alabama's defense were ranked higher than Oregon's I figured Ohio State could score this high. But I figured that Oregon would score more than they did and it would have been a closer game.
the only people not surprised were buckeyes. I will never forget that little shit on ESPN saying," Bama should be really happy with their matchup, hehehe...."
Nobody was surprised because Urban Meyer came to the Oregon Facility in 2011 with Chip Kelly and looked at our Playbook after making it to the BCS in 2010, That's why Ohio State outread and outsmarted Oregon's play's. And the Defense/O Line would have taken care of business with Chip Kelly because Mark Helfrich made the players weak and that's why he got Fired, But He's not a bad person or anything.
Wow rewatching this it's mind blowing how dominant this team was.. Won by 3tds and LITERALLY gave Oregon every chance to hang with how sloppy they were.. Against a very good Oregon that Buckeyes were just toying with 😂
Oregon Ducks Football/Basketball has Oregon even been relevant since mariota left? He was your only chance. It’s been 3 years man. Give it up. Y’all got destroyed and had no response. Ohio state was doubted all season and beat the top 2 teams. You guys will never be in contention to win a championship in a long time.
Ryan989 Our championship will be born before you know it. In 2015 and 2017 we were relevant our QB’s just got injured. 2016 was one bad season which we woulda been 6-6 if Justin Herbert started the whole season.
Oregon Ducks Football/Basketball “woulda been 6-6.... when was the last time OSU has had a record even close to that? You guys were tied for seventh last year in all of the pac-12.... lmao. And if I recall the pac-12 wasn’t even good and got destroyed In all their bowl games. They won like 1 of them? 4-5 in conference games.... in a terrible conference? How can a team go from national championship contenders to the bottom half of their conference within a 2 years. That is a historically bad down fall. You guys haven’t even been mentioned since 2014. Unless they are announcing mariotas name in an NFL game. And he was the best player to come out of your team too? Heisman winner Mariota and he has yet to have a decent season in the NFL. While OSU has had 3 rookies of the years in the past 2 season. And many other players who have played amazing. Not to mention we have 2-3 potential first rounders this year. People quit caring about Oregon after they got used to seeing their fancy uniforms... that’s all that team is anyway. Hell even your profile pick only shows that off. What’s their team logo? Oh yea their championship count. One hit wonder of a team that got throttled by the underdog. The biggest joke in sports in the past 10 years.
Oregon Ducks Football/Basketball and I find it hilarious how you blame that season on a hurt QB.... if I recall we whooped you guys with a 3rd string quarterback.... hell the dude was only in at his 3rd start. 3 starts, 3 trophies.
cool thing i just discovered, Ohio State and Oregon will be playing each other in the regular season in a few years I think in 2018. we also will be playing the Sooners of oklahoma in 2016
Nah... the feisty Oregon 'D' Ohio St. played lights out but the Ducks could have won only if they played this game with a full deck. Oh boy did they need Darren Carrington.. the Rose bowl star and Deven Allen.... not to mention the best tight end in the country Phorah Brown ... A depleted shell of the team that brought them to the dance.... gotta have your weapons to win the shoot out
Indeed Mr. Taggert. Nice job thus far. Still really really upset you kicked Carrington off the team. As the new coach and face of the program, that did not endear you to many loyal duck loving fans. I almost tuned out the ducks and the entire 2017 college football season as a result. Carrington is the kind of explosive weapon you need ...we need to defeat the big boys in the big games. 'He's tearing it up again this season'. I see no advantage to Darren being with the nemesis Utah Utes.
As I recall, none of the “experts” gave Ohio State a chance. It was believed that the only team who would have a chance against Oregon was Alabama, and after Ohio State beat The Crimson Tide, it was the consensus that Oregon would have no problem beating Ohio State.
frozenfalcon253 Agreed, and I think this is key. They found themselves in an unusual situation -- behind, against a team that they were realizing was better than them -- and they got totally rattled. That only made things worse. They were only down 8 with 15 minutes left! Reminds me of the Soviet hockey team in 1980. They were down 1 goal, but they were used to blowing everyone out, so they started making rushed, panicked slap shots without executing.
They were not accustomed to the physicality and speed of the Buckeyes. Plus, after that first touchdown drive by the Ducks, the Buckeye defense had already leanred how to adjust. In the inner circles of Buckeye lore, it is often said that that defense went to the sideline after that first TD by Oregon and said to the coaches "We got it"...as in: we have already figured out Mariota's cadence and pace. Did the Ducks have some success and big plays on offense after that? Sure. However, the Buckeye defense pretty much dominated after that. Thanks to superior athletes with high football IQ combined with a stellar coaching staff, it took one series for Ohio State to decipher Oregon.
@@shumandaniele I agree somewhat. However, to compare Oregon to the 1980 Soviet hockey team is not an apt analogy. In 1980, the USSR hockey team was clearly the better team with superior athletes. That was not the case with Oregon in this game. The Vegas odds had Ohio State favored in this game. As anyone who has watched this game realizes, Ohio State was clearly the superior team with better athletes, superior coaching, and superb execution. This game was not an upset. USA hockey over Russia 1980 was one of the biggest upsets in sports history.
I know people keep harping about Ohio State playing with their 3rd string QB. But Oregon was playing without 3 of their starting wide receivers. Half of their offense was sidelined, and they still made it a game until the 4th quarter. How would Ohio State would have done without Zeke. They may still have won, but MM was operating on 2 cylinders. The remaining wide receivers just couldn't get separation 💔. MM was forced to scramble all night.
I'm proud of my Buckeyes!!! What a hell of a year going from not even being the conversation to dominating in the first CFP and bringing home the trophy. I'm hoping Urban and the boys can do it again, they certainly can. Stay humble Buckeyes ! Stay humble buckeye nation ! O-H !!!
Such a great game and great run. It's the 3rd best game in a season with quite a few; the Alabama Playoff game the week before is the greatest game of the year; with #2 being Mich State.
+ZachXIV I love how you dominated the Natty and still can't accept the score. Attitude from kids these day's.... You realize that Turnovers are part of the game, It's no different then being tackled for a loss of yards to punt the ball after 3rd down. You fumbled because we pressured your Offense on the drives you fumbled. Not to mention your coach came to Chip Kelly and looked at the Playbook a few years before this. That's actually Cheating, at least It still would have been 42-20 without the Turnovers without your coach looking at our playbook coming to our facility. And If we had Chip Kelly we would have Whopped your asses no matter what if you didn't have your so called Third String Talent QB (In 2014 only) or if It weren't for the 4 Turnovers. You Saying it would have been worst if yall never fumbled is like saying, "WE WOULD HAVE SCORED 60 POINTS IF THEY NEVER TACKLED US FOR A LOSS ON 3RD DOWN, IT WASN'T FAIR!!!!!!! We fumbled a Couple of times against you in 2009 when you beat us... We don't go on saying "We would have won if it weren't for those turnovers".
Oregon Ducks Football/Basketball wow ! Took you 2 months to reply and you sound even more stupid . Enjoy never having a championship for your shit school .
We already do 1885-96 4-0-0 Undisputed Champs!! You can't even accept a 42-20 win in the natty and your telling me i'm sounding more Stupid???? And you make the Excuses of the Turnovers... Pathetic Child. Who cares how long is took me too reply anyways??? My Notifications turned off. Plus I don't goof around on youtube all day like you. And I'm not saying we would have won, But it still would have been 42-20 or less if it weren't for The key players we had out... IM NOT SAYING WE WOULD HAVE WON so don't whine about me saying that, Im just saying it would have been no worst then 42-20. And Cardale Jones was not a Third String Talent in 2014 at least.. Something happened to Braxton Miller, and JT was only a Freshman. And there's no way they would put 59+ Points on Wisconsin like they never did.
Oregon Ducks Football/Basketball get dog stomped . Y’all came in that stadium talking all that shit about how you would put 60 on us , and couldn’t even put half that . Trash !!!!! 3rd sting QB TRASHHHH! AND HAVENT BEEN RANKED SINCE ! TRASHHHHH!!! Hahahahahhahahaa
Loved this game. I was so sick and tired of hearing how Oregon had so much speed and how they were going to run circles around State aaaaaaand how they ran so many more plays
Cardale was just a freak of nature, good lord. Running over linebackers one play and then chucking the ball 50 yards downfield into Devin smith’s pocket the next.
You and me both. I thought OR would have the speed to beat them but the buckeyes beat em up bad. I also though Jones would make some mistakes that would cost them in this game, he did make a few but it wasn't enough to affect anything
BillyBong05 i don't know, never liked oregon and their gimmicky offense, just shut down on any physical play, play well with momentum but game over if they're down. Alabama was the true test for the bucks, had me on my heels and would have had me sweating bullets if they stuck to the run
GoBucks Agree, Oregon theatrics is not Football. Their QB is 70% of their offense. Shut their QB down and they lose very big, and it is NOT an enjoyable football
I saw my beloved Buckeyes beat Wisconsin 59-0 in the Big Ten Championship game. I then asked myself "What team could whip Wisconsin that bad, shutting them out, while using their 2nd string QB?". The answer was clear....NO TEAM could do it. From then on, I knew Ohio State was that favorite to win the playoffs no matter what ESPN and Vegas said. I've been a Buckeye fan from birth and this is the best Buckeye team I ever saw play. It all comes down to how strong teams are at the end of the season. Obviously, Ohio State was far and away the best team in the country...and just think...they almost got left out of the playoffs. In my eyes, the closest team to Ohio State was TCU. TCU's one loss was a 3 point loss to Baylor and they wiped out their bowl opponent, Mississippi by a score of 42-3. As I have said over and over though...This was possibly the best football program's best team ever. That in itself should have shown the country who the best team was before the playoffs started. The Buckeyes were in the top 20 of most defensive categories and had their most prolific offense in their 125 year history. When you look at it that way, no team should have had a chance against Ohio State in the playoffs. And even the win over Alabama was worse than the score showed...plus they kept Oregon (a team that is now 0-10 against Ohio State) and their high flying, super quick offense to just 2 TD's and 2 FG's....just 20 points. Ohio State may never get credit for it but the 2014-2015 Buckeyes (even with their week #2 loss to VaTech) may have been the all time best CFB team ever. By the time the Buckeyes' last 3 games were finished, they had 4 wins over top 13 teams (3 of those wins were over top 5 teams in the nation) and were underdogs in each of those games (Wisconsin had the #2 overall defense in the country and the #4 scoring defense as well), and really beat all 3 of their final 3 opponents rather easily while beating the Heisman trophy winner, runner up, and 3rd place vote getter, too. They won those 4 games in which they were underdogs by 100 total points. ESPN wanted a Cinderella story, so they made it that way. That, though...couldn't be any farther away from the truth. This Buckeye squad was most probably college football's best team ever...and should be even better next season. It might be a tall task though. This Buckeye squad beat the AP polls #2, #4, #5, and #13 (by the 2014 final AP Poll) teams by a total of 100 points while capturing the undisputed #1 spot in every poll. How many teams EVER have beaten the #2, #4, #5, and #13 teams in the AP's final poll by a total of 100 points? My guess is no team has ever even come close.
I agree, and I have never seen any team improve so fast and do so much in such a fashion, with all the adversity, and a QB who had not played a meaningful snap in 3 years,...and do what that kid did. In all my 65 years I have never seen anything close to this team in any conference...this is "one for the ages". To do it the way they did, with the situations they had, and to control 3 extremely impressive teams so completely. Meyer started 7 freshmen, and 9 sophmores on this team....!?!?!? This team will always be remembered by OSU fans, as the "greatest story" in College football history.
Definitely one the best offensive units the buckeyes have had. I love to go back and watch old season highlights. You just cant argue with a win like that. They dominated all season and the NCAA has become so biased FOR the SEC. The SEC is not the best conference and for the individual below who said the PAC-12 had the best conference that year, you sir, are sadly mistaken. Oregon was great that year. Ill give you that. As for the pac-12, were one of the lowered tiered conferences. B1G and SEC were THE Only two good conferences that year. Great win and always a scarlet and grey fan. This is our nation. A BUCKEYE NATION!!!! You're fans up here in Alaska are ready to see another National Championship! OH
Anyone who questions Elliott's speed, just needs to ask the Oregon and Alabama defenders how they liked the view of the back of Elliott's jersey when he broke a run for a big gain.
Zane Lee Except that they didn't.. In fact, if you watch the 85-yard run, you see the only person running with Elliot is Jalin Marshall. But whatever makes you sleep better at night, so be it.
Lol no eddie jackson was def catching up. And on Elliot's other long run he was caught by our slowest safety Nick perry. You OSU fans just always have to be right.
That was a great Oregon team we beat. I know they were not playing at full strength, neither were us Buckeyes. That was an amazingly, deep, talented well rounded OSU team, not to mention a great coaching staff. Nobody could have beat us when we were firing on all cylinders.
@nedstewart1 Does it feel good for your team to finally be relevant again after being mediocre for so long? Of course OSU is always relevant so I'm not sure how that probably stings.
This reminded how dominant Joey Bosa was. You hear about how Nick was better and Cajse Young was the best of the 3, but Joey was bullying their linemen all game.
I was thirteen about to be fourteen when we won this game and I remember I could finally tell my grandpa I’ve seen ostate win a natty now im about to be twenty four and I’ve seen two rip granddaddy we did it One more than forever ❤️
Watching this again for about the tenth time, wish we could have made the playoffs this year to see what Haskins could have done but that ugly Purdue game just could not be overlooked. Go Bucks and can't wait until next year!
Just watched it again and had forgotten we had 4 turnovers to one and won by 22. WOW! Zeke the Beast and Cardale, 3rd string, one of the greatest runs in a storied history.
To "River Holley" Ohio State didn't physically beat Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon with two players that was a balanced team assault on three quality programs... just sayin
and Oregon's defense eventually gassed out from ezekiell elliot and the o line. that OSU always scored so many 2nd half points because they wore defenses down to nothing
The reason why all of this happened is because Urban Meyer came to Chip Kelly in 2011 and read the playbook on offense and defense. Defense got weaker since Chip Kelly wasn't the coach anymore, Offense was still good with Scott Frost who's with Nebraska next year, And you stopped us on Defense with Zeke because They got weaker without Chip Kelly, You guys stopped us on Offense because Urban Meyer looked at our Offensive playbook with Chip Kelly in 2011.
If you still had the same playbook in 2015 from 2011 that's your own damn fault even my highschool changed it's playbook from year to year even if it was hey move this guy a yard in so it doesn't look the same. Even then knowing the plays just means your not fooled if you have the better players they'll still get the job done. This was actually showed in the game before this one where the announcers were even joking around that OSU was just running Counter Trap over and over again and Bama really had no answer for it.
I still can’t believe the run they made to this day!! To think how morbid everything started especially week 2 against Virginia Tech and then to see how magically it ended. Just in disbelief when it happened. Always will remember this year.
What I've been arguing on this page is there is no "blueprint" to beat Oregon. I had to listen to that shit the moment we lost the 2010-11 season to Auburn because we thought his knee was down but he luckily kept going, and lost on a field goal. It didn't help that the BCS football gods scheduled THE SPECIFIC MATCH-UP problem for the 2010/11 era Oregon Ducks to play LSU week 1 knowing LSU has a superior D-linemen system, and an off season to prepare for a guaranteed rock, paper, scissors game. Then when they lose 1 game to a Pac-12 rival USC by 3 it's game over Oregon. Then in 2012 we lose by 3 to Stanford. Game over Oregon. This playoff system clearly identified a team that was best, which is Ohio State. To claim we need to expand the shit is foolish, it will be just like the BCS again
OSU handing the ball over 3x's and still won by 3 td's plus. The Natl champ was played a week earlier and OSU turned it over multiple times in that game and still crushed Bama.
I thought this Oregon team was worthy of winning it all they just ran into a confident Osu team that was stacked.. They smoked fsu and that's impressive regardless of how up and down of a year fsu had.
I would just like to say that I think Ohio State and Florida State are really similar teams with similar styles. The difference between Ohio State and Florida State vs. Oregon is that Ohio State was mentally tough enough to get over their mistakes where as Florida State folded like a cheap suit.
ronald sams no , FSU should of never even been in there , that was a mistake . Ohio state was number 1 that year . This wasn’t even a game , we dog mopped bama and Oregon .
FSU Should have, Ohio State got lucky with a Defensive Touchdown vs Alabama, and They Destroyed Oregon because Urban Meyer read our playbook in 2011 with help from Chip Kelly since He Built up Oregon's Program. Urban Meyer after beating Alabama practiced our Offensive and Defensive plays. And If Chip Kelly was still the Coach to make the O-Line and D-Line Stronger and Urban Meyer never reads the playbook for our QB, RB, WR, CB, DB, and Safeties it would make a difference. And yall are saying Ohio State should have been the 1 seed because they were gonna win the National Championship??? Your ruining seedings ya know, your basically saying the team that wins the National Championship always should have been the 1 Seed, It's not like the 1 seed is supposed to win it all. TCU lost to Baylor who lost to Michigan St who got destroyed by both Oregon and Ohio St, Playoff was right choice.
I’ll tell ya, I felt much better about the matchup against Oregon than I did against Alabama. This was such an unforgettable season, and I will never forget what a ride it was in 14. GO BUCKS!!

Thank you did the support
As a big Oregon Duck fan i cant say i was too mad about this loss. Ohio state had championship depth and gave Oregon their toughest game of the season by far. Yeah there were some dropped balls by the Ducks and they probably could have played better than they did but the bottom line is that Ohio State was the better team in that point in time. Respect to Ohio state. Go ducks!
+Jay Freeman thanks, Joaquin Phoenix.
what does that even mean?
lol c'mon, dude. look at ya. you look just like him.
i dont have a fucked up lip tho thats where i got confused lol

Without those OSU turnovers this would have been a bloodbath
Zeke Elliott was like a man playing against boys in this game.
They simply could not stop the run. Elliot or Jones
@Jack Goff Your name is literally "Jack Goff"... Jackoff. You're a jackoff. Nice B8 M8.
Just like DaVonta Smith was the man when Alabama beat Ohio State 52-24. DeVonta out played what Zeke did and took the
2nd. half off.
@@nedstewart1 Ohio State was missing alot of players because of Covid.
@@nedstewart1 That's a hilarious way to cope. What Zeke did was amazing. So was DeVonta Smith. Why you gotta be a hater?
this is one of my fav buckeye teams...they went through all the heisman candidates...every single one! That's greatness!
Thanks for the love
- DeVonta Smith was uncoverable, Najee Harris unstoppable and Mac Jones impeccable. With a performance that was both surgical and explosive, No. 1 Alabama won the College Football Playoff national championship game 52-24
Zeke's run does not compare to the beat down Smith dished out to the Ohio State defense, Alabama is 4-1 against the Bucks.
@@nedstewart1 Never would have happened at full strength. I guess you forgot about Covid-19, and how Zeke ran over you in 2014.
@@Primus54 Yes' Ohio State did not have enough Southern players to win that game. Smith did so much damage to the Bucks he sat out the 2nd half. Whats OSU's record against the Alabama any way? 1-4
@@Primus54 Smith destroyed Ohio State and sat out the 2nd. half. Reminds me when Urban Meyer took his
Florida Gators to play the Ohio State Buckeyes. Urban put a real beating on the Bucks. But he learned SEC football
which helped him later on in his carrear.
I'm sure we all can agree Bama vs OSU was the real national championship
+Patrick Mosley such a good game!
I agree. I hope we can play them again.
Nicholas Curry fingers crossed man.. Go Tar Heels!
+Patrick Mosley We let Bama stay in that game with mistakes too, otherwise they got dominated
VA Wolfhunter umm it was a 7 point game and we were up 21-7 at half wtf are you dumb
Thanks a lot for putting this together and posting it. It's a great way to relive the game in short order.

Ohio State shot itself in the foot and still won by 22
Both these playoff / Natty games ended with OSU intercepting...
It takes Zeke three steps to go 10 yards

Now I'm sad again
I remember after Ohio State beat Bama, people were hyping up Oregon, and expected them to blow out the Buckeyes; and all the time I'm saying to myself "Do people NOT see the buzzsaw that's about to hit Oregon?" And sure enough, the whole country did.
@Brady Metzger nah ohio state just choked and couldnt score in the redzone. simple as that
I was cheering for OSU, even though I'm not a true Buckeye fan. They were really impressive in the playoff. They took down the power of Bama and the speed of Oregon. They definitely deserve the title.
I miss this 2014 team so much. In my opinion the best Ohio State team ever.
Ya best defense and best running game
Man Elliott was a BEAST! You'd think he was down and buried under a pile, then he's popping out the other side, like whack-a-mole. And Cardale, what poise for someone who was put in at the end of the season. I like it when we are the underdogs and surprise the heck out of people. I hope we come through on Monday!

No Doubt as a fellow buckeye literally everyone in the state went crazy that night I think haha.

What's scary is that wasn't even the best that Ohio State could play.
I am pretty sure that was the best Oregon could have played,
the best they have ever played or will ever play again.
Actually, this game wasn't fair to Marcus Mariotta... by this game, Oregon had 1/2 its players on Disabled List or in jail... a Buckeye
I remember how absolutely certain so many in the national sports media agreed that Ohio State should never have made the playoffs. It was awesome to watch them beat both Alabama and Oregon and win the National Championship!
This was Ohio State's first win over Alabama in over a hundred plus years. and Ohio States last national
championship. I bet Ohio State fans wish they had a 4-1 record over over Alabama and would give up this win
to be 4-1 over Alabama. But it is what it is, Just like Ohio States 2-12 loss record in bowl games against the SEC.
I think it's great Ohio State has one time in the last hundred years beaten Alabama. This makes it Alabama 4-1 in wins against the Bucks.
And come from behind by over two touchdowns.

Ohio State is fundamentally an amazing team, with even better coaching. Nothing is preventing them from repeating, not even TCU
TCU is just ....Oregon "Lite". GO BUCKS !!!
Ohio Against The World Skip Bayless is the least respected member of ESPN for things like this.
Yeah Pat, Bayless is a "backbiter"...he wasn't talking that way in Arlington, Tx the night of the CFP-NC on Jan 12. ....BUT I think everyone knows Bayless is an Oklahoma Sooners "HOMIE"...and the Big 12, in tune with that,.!..Those guys all pretend to be impartial....BUT they do a terrible job of it.....because when "Push comes to Shove" they will show YOU "WHO THEY FAVOR"..just like any other FAN-ATIC !!!.Ohio Against The World
Ezekiel Elliot can now have the best pick-up line ever "Hey, I scored 4 touchdowns in the national championship game".
JSS Tyger Haha Al Bundy can't even say that!
Zack Jalamani The 246 yards is what I'm impressed with, I don't give a fuck about the 4 touchdowns even though they were on long runs, but I hate it when they make a big deal about a guy scoring a lot of touchdowns cause a lot of times most of them were just from 1 or 2 yards out
Jeremy Forczyk Oregon may be good in their conference but clearly the could not compete against TOSU Buckeyes, glad fowler got to eat alot of crow!

In the Ohio media, it was reported in commentary after this win that the Ohio State defense had figured out Oregon and Mariota's tempo after that first touchdown. It was like, "yeah, they just burned us for an TD on the opening series, but we got 'em now"
I don't know if that is true, but what I do know is that OSU's offensive line completely dominated Oregon's defensive front.
Dwyne S who was it who said that?
+ADERSAST
Mark May.
10 years later and they finally ran it back!!!!
Why buy the DVD or DVR replays when you have this? Good work. Buckeyes all day baby!
Wow rewatching this it's mind blowing how dominant this team was.. Won by 3tds and LITERALLY gave Oregon every chance to hang with how sloppy they were.. Against a very good Oregon that Buckeyes were just toying with 😂
I like how Oregon puts their # of titles as their logo.
I won’t give it up and Marion’s wasn’t the only hope. We didn’t show up and we already dealt with it.

Nah... the feisty Oregon 'D' Ohio St. played lights out but the Ducks could have won only if they played this game with a full deck. Oh boy did they need Darren Carrington.. the Rose bowl star and Deven Allen.... not to mention the best tight end in the country Phorah Brown ... A depleted shell of the team that brought them to the dance.... gotta have your weapons to win the shoot out
Do you think Oregon is at least better then 2016 this year?
Indeed Mr.
Many were saying OSU should not even have been in the BCS this year. Whoops! Lol

Zeke Elliot, Joey Bosa, Michael Thomas. All pro bowlers now. This team was loaded.
right around 6 mins left in the 3rd quarter, you could tell Oregon was sick of trying to tackle Cardale and Zeke
Oregon completely crumbled towards the end of the game.
frozenfalcon253 Agreed, and I think this is key.

Every dislike are upset oregon & alabama fans
Avian Michigan fans too
Ohio rocks I knew Ohio state was going to win all the time.
lol stfu bum
Avian And Michigan
I had forgotten how much of a beast zeke was
Listened to this game on the radio. My main memory is the announcers announcing Elliot running all over the Ducks.
Cardale Jones seems to just be flipping a little pass and it goes 50 yards.
Yeah, totally!
Cardale was just a freak of nature, good lord. Running over linebackers one play and then chucking the ball 50 yards downfield into Devin smith’s pocket the next.
I admit I was wrong, I thought Oregon was going to win this one.
You and me both. I thought OR would have the speed to beat them but the buckeyes beat em up bad. I also though Jones would make some mistakes that would cost them in this game, he did make a few but it wasn't enough to affect anything

i don't know, never liked oregon and their gimmicky offense, just shut down on any physical play, play well with momentum but game over if they're down.
Ezekiel Elliot literally steam-rolled the Duck's defense. Way to go Zeke! And what more can you say about the Buckeye's defense? Talk about a wall.
OH
Urban's offenses in college were pretty much unstoppable! He shoulda won at least 2 or 3 more titles!
Anyone who questions Elliott's speed, just needs to ask the Oregon and Alabama defenders how they liked the view of the back of Elliott's jersey when he broke a run for a big gain.
Well to be fair Bama caught him once and almost did the other time too.
Zane Lee Okay, you got me, they caught up to him near the back of the end zone...
RB Brown He beat Braxton Miller in a foot race at the spring game, so that should count for something, right?
Who back in 2021 Go Buckeyes ‼️
You know it! Now if they can play vs Bama the way they played vs Clemson we should win ... Go Bucks!!
That was a great Oregon team we beat. I know they were not playing at full strength, neither were us Buckeyes. That was an amazingly, deep, talented well rounded OSU team, not to mention a great coaching staff. Nobody could have beat us when we were firing on all cylinders.
Why are the Bucks 0-3 agaunst FSU?
@nedstewart1 Does it feel good for your team to finally be relevant again after being mediocre for so long? Of course OSU is always relevant so I'm not sure how that probably stings.
@nedstewart1 haha fsu didn't make the playoffs
That season was magic!
Ohio state 8 time champion 1942, 1954, 1957, 1961, 1968, 1970, 2002, 2014
Alabama 17 time champion 💯😎 but Ohio state looks like they might win it again this year
@@tyranburnside5364 Now I’m sad
Tyran Burnside joe burrow didnt like this one...
This reminded how dominant Joey Bosa was. You hear about how Nick was better and Cajse Young was the best of the 3, but Joey was bullying their linemen all game.
Everyone can hate on OSU but they will forever be the first team to win the college football playoff
I was thirteen about to be fourteen when we won this game and I remember I could finally tell my grandpa I’ve seen ostate win a natty now im about to be twenty four and I’ve seen two rip granddaddy we did it One more than forever ❤️
And you were an infant when they got it in 2002.
Watching this again for about the tenth time, wish we could have made the playoffs this year to see what Haskins could have done but that ugly Purdue game just could not be overlooked. Go Bucks and can't wait until next year!
Thanks for the support subscribe to our channel see what life is like after football
I'm convinced that urban meyer threw that Purdue game because of the kid with terminal cancer
Just watched it again and had forgotten we had 4 turnovers to one and won by 22. WOW! Zeke the Beast and Cardale, 3rd string, one of the greatest runs in a storied history.
I always thought that it had to be a movie around this run .
This game came down to Oregon not having any interior D lineman.
that and a 1st year D-coordinator that didn't know what he was doing
Hey, does Oregon still have a football team?
LOL GO BUCKEYES !!! Checkout my youtube channel BUCKEYE VINNIE, please watch m,y videos and sub to my channel thanks.
What a butt kicking. You get 4 turnovers and still get more than doubled up.
Say what u want, Zeik is the best running back in history
To "River Holley" Ohio State didn't physically beat Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon with two players that was a balanced team assault on three quality programs... just sayin
If Zeke would've cut left on that 2nd and 8 in the 2nd quarter instead of right, that would've been a 98 yard tuddy.
Yea, I thought the same, surprised he did that.
So many missed opportunities by both teams in this game. It could have been 77-42.
I'll never forget these days. Good times
The turnovers are just Urbans way of keeping in interesting.
Bullshit Ben. Real Buckeyes rip Ohio St as much as we praise them I'm assuming u were just being sarcastic....
You guessed it! It was obviously sarcasm...
did you really think he was being dead serious when he typed that?
CJ stroud needs to watch how these qb's play
Looks like he’s figured it out in NFL.
I didn't get this game for the ducks at all. They were running the ball so well on their first drive, why did they stop?
Stack Guy because the Buckeyes figured it out. Every time they ran it after the first couple of drives, they were stuffed.
and Oregon's defense eventually gassed out from ezekiell elliot and the o line. that OSU always scored so many 2nd half points because they wore defenses down to nothing
Did you not see what the Buckeyes did to them every time they ran ?
But the end result in 2021 Alabama leads in the series 4-1.
@@nedstewart1 You got smashed by a 3rd string QB when it counted.
Let the best teams win. Thats why the South has won 19 of the last 25 national championships. 76%. wins.
OSU handing the ball over 3x's and still won by 3 td's plus. The Natl champ was played a week earlier and OSU turned it over multiple times in that game and still crushed Bama.
You can always count on Oregon to be good, but not quite good enough
I thought this Oregon team was worthy of winning it all they just ran into a confident Osu team that was stacked.. They smoked fsu and that's impressive regardless of how up and down of a year fsu had.
2012 was their best chance imo
it also didn't help that the ducks had a couple of their best players out this game
Third string quarterback?
+GurnakeDaSnakeMon The way They played against FSU would have made a big difference to this game.
Oregon had no answers on defense for the Ohio State offense. Silly turnovers made this game closer than it ever should have been in reality.
I would just like to say that I think Ohio State and Florida State are really similar teams with similar styles. The difference between Ohio State and Florida State vs. Oregon is that Ohio State was mentally tough enough to get over their mistakes where as Florida State folded like a cheap suit.
And FSU lost a truckload of their players to the NFL the previous year. They never should have made it as far as they did in 2014.
ronald sams no , FSU should of never even been in there , that was a mistake .
TCU lost to Baylor who lost to Michigan St who got destroyed by both Oregon and Ohio St, Playoff was right choice.
ronald sams no I disagree Florida State sucked and Ohio State didn’t pretty simple
Oregon Ducks Football/Basketball Oregon got there asses handed to them our 3 rd string quarter back ran over top of the entire defense
This game was more competitive than I recalled.
If it weren’t for a few drops by Oregon, this game would’ve been so tight
Great battle between both teams! I enjoyed this game :)
Thanks my guy
Hope you enjoy watching our hot chip challenge!
man glad my favorite team is back on top. now hopefully stay there for a little while
How about that OSU defense? Wow.
