I purposely don’t weigh my ingredients with a scale for my cakes because 1. I don’t like measuring at all. It annoys me. So I choose to scoop because it’s quicker/less annoying for me. 2. I created my recipes specifically to be able to handle me scooping instead of weighing. They come out great! Yes, weighing is more accurate but this is what I have chosen that works best for me! I do still weigh my ingredients for my buttercream and I weigh my batter for my mini cake pans. That’s just what works for me and I’m able to still create perfectly delicious cakes that my customers love!
Interesting, while I was watching I kept thinking using a scale instead of a cup measure would be faster less annoying since you're just keeping tabs on the final number on the scale and don't have to be careful with each scoop 😂
I see on yourcAmazon storefront you have several mini cake tin options. Which is your favorite? And which are the ones you are using in this video they look sturdy.
A professional cake designer and Baker retired . I would prep everything one or two days before I start baking use this suggestion I will measure out everything as far as the dry ingredients to whatever I was going to bake .put everything you need in Ziploc bags label whatever you have in that bag the only thing you'll be needing is the eggs flavored extracts milk cream butter or whatever I use this technique for years . The same if you're going to make your buttercream Etc whatever. Set out set up prepare my mixing station along with whatever equipment that I will be needing beforehand mixing bowl spoons spatulas pastry bags ect . It will be much easier just saying .
@ariannalagumen4126 when you asked the question do baking powder make a reaction right away I deleted the first comment I want to make sure what you were talking about so I can give you the correct comment
I measure out all the dry ingredients to my white cake mixes that I make ahead of time I do like 24 to 48 ahead of time that way I’m all I’m doing is measuring out. The flout once the baking powder the baking soda, whatever salt everything went one time. I don’t bake professionally, but I do it at home and we have puppies so I make my own white cake mix so that they could have it too and then I make cake or whatever I make with it this way I have my base mix and then I can add whatever I need to.
That's what I do.... I measure out all dry ingredients and sift together in one bowl, then all wet ingredients in another bowl, and use my immersion blender to mix, put in fridge and mix together the next day. Because normally on baking day I have several cakes going out, I don't mix wet and dry ingredients until I am fixing to bake the cake.
I was just thinking it looks like a heart too. My oldest son has an ichthys "Jesus fish" shaped birthmark on his leg. I'm going to tell him the line you said here. God stamped and God covered. I like that! 🥰
I love the spot on your face. It gives me heart shaped feelings especially with the amount of love you put into your baking and that handsome 2 year old.
It's a birthmark I think. Well maybe not, but my mom had one on her face that was around her eye and high cheek bone which I loved and thought it was so pretty. My mom was white and American Indian so hers was darker than her skin tone but I find it fascinating that darker skin people have lighter marks. 😊
My husband is Hispanic and has a lighter mark on his abdomen. It’s called vitiligo in his case. Doctor told him it can be caused by stress. Not sure about the station bakery. But I love her videos and have learned so much from her, and I love how she loves her family and is such a good momma! ❤
Using weight measurements has absolutely helped me with pumping thru recipes !! I see you use that some too... 😉 And you doing all the business, caking and decorating PLUS making videos ..(and so much more that's not written out here people have no idea the prep or behind the scenes stuff) sure makes you a BOSS MOM !! 😊 My only time saver tip is using the scale for doing all your ingredients. It does save bowls and utensils!!
I CANNOT agree more!! I started measuring by weight over volume about 6 years ago and it's changed my baking. It's so much easier PLUS it's so much more accurate, so you are able to be much more consistent in your products outcome. And you literally don't need anything fancier than a $6 scale from Wal-Mart!
I can’t do this without a scale! Trust me dump all the measuring cups and get a bakers scale. You will LOVE how much time it saves. I would also prep the night before while your toddler sleeps.
Retired cake designer and Baker I don't use measuring weights scale I'm a old schooler still use measuring cups and teaspoons tablespoon measuring set and that's it , been baking for so long I can do it by eyeball without using any measuring cups , but for those who are getting into baking by all means use the measuring weight scale
Made 62 cakes today and I'm exhausted 🥱 I have two toddlers and I can totally relate to "just let me put them in the oven at least!" 😆 Keep it up mama! ❤️
For my daughter's first birthday, I made a teddy bear cake and at least 3 dozen cupcakes. My hands have never been so tired! I can't even imagine! You go girl!!!
😂😂 seeing your little peanut’s head running around fhe kitchen 😂😂 my baby does the same 😂😂. Mostly because he wants to make sure im not eating without him
That made me laugh out loud 😊 why do toddlers love food so much?? It's like the most important thing to them lol it's adorable tho. My 20 month old nephew will go in the fridge and cabinets and pick out what he wants to eat all the time. Idk if she let's him but I know she tells me he does this all throughout the day. He just wants food always 😂
Wow those cakes looks so amazing and also yummy 🫠 Beside the point, the mark on your face looks like a heart and makes you goergous. It looks like mark of love. I love when people have things like this on their body, i think they makes us unique 🌸
I love that baby just toddling around! You get see the top of his head 😂 oh I miss my babies! They are all grown up now! Love love your cakes !!! Wishing you and family all kinds of success ♥️👍🏻🙏🏻
I love everything about this!! The beautiful sleek looking kitchen, the kids wandering around, your calm vibes, the cakes (of course!!), and the pink label stickers. May God bless you and your family abundantly always!
Amazing I love baking and used to have a small bussiness from home but failed due to the busy life Can you please help in how to plan and do you focus on one type of flavour sizes …etc? And what the things you considered when you came up with your logo and name?
Thank you!! I don’t like measuring one way or the other so for my cakes I just scoop but I weigh for my buttercream. Hope someone will invent something that makes measuring less tedious because it’s the worst part for me 🥲
Lobe love LOVEEE the reel! Hats off to your effort and persistence in keeping going. Hope this home business turns into a cute little (or big:)) professional bakery at some nice place soon. Love and light from India🌼🌺🌍✨
These mini cakes are ingenious! I know sometimes I just want cake but I don’t want to buy a whole one at the store which usually aren’t as good as a bakery or homemade but these mini sizes are just right, chocolate looks amazing and I bet you could freeze them to store
What about spending a day or two just measuring out ingredients and sealing them in those bags that you melt the edges together so they are air tight and write the amount in each bag and what it is along with the date. This would keep them organized while allowing you to grab however you need and keeping ingredients fresh. Like you need 2 cups of flour? Grab four mini bags with 1/2 cup in each. Idk. Just an idea.
Once, I watched an italian old lady baking some italian bread (I forgot what kind). She didn't use scale either. She just poured the ingredients in a big bowl. And she's been doing that for decades.
with a business needing to measure is a must so you can track your costs. hope you find an easier way for yourself. you did a great job & they look yummy
A way to making measuring your ingredients easier: a kitchen scale (and metrics measurements are more accurate and easier to follow imo). I'm shocked that not all bakers have them.
Make your most popular flavors into a dry mix! You can make buckets of it and store in food grade 5 gallon buckets! Freeze your flours, nuts, and dry fruits for 3-4 days if worried about bugs, when buying in bulk. Freezing will kill everything! You will never have to worry about bugs as long as you freeze b4 storing! Also, you can freeze dough, batter, bread, and cake for a few month with out worrying about freezer burn! This is what I do with my pancake/ waffle, cake, cookie, cobler, and cornbread mixes! Then from my mixes i make all especially pancakes/ waffles i will batch cook and freeze, and warm them up in the oven! For cookies, and brownies I will make into a dough freeze on scoop sizes and finally place in labeled freezer bags. Cakes, and bread freeze well. They thaw out fast, and tast just as fresh as when you baked them! Then all you have to do is add frosting, decor and enjoy! I have a large family of 8 and this has helped me soooooooooo much! I hope it helps you too! From one momboss to another! 😘👑

What formula do you use to calculate how much you would charge for the cakes?
😮
My mum comes from a family of pizza and cake makers they never weigh its all done by eye judgement. At the end of the day if it works it works ❤
I see on yourcAmazon storefront you have several mini cake tin options. Which is your favorite? And which are the ones you are using in this video they look sturdy.
The little head just walking around the counter was by far my favorite parts!!
I know I was going to say the same. Barely being able to see his lil head passing by is so funny😂

Being able to stay home with the babies, PRICELESS!

If I ever bake, I'm going to use the bags idea and I will weigh instead of measuring even if I have to use a big scale.👌
Was about to suggest this! Yes, prep the dry ingredients days in advance. I do something similar on a smaller scale when it comes to cooking
Do you mix baking soda and baking powder in the dry ingredients? Will BP react right away?
@ariannalagumen4126 when you asked the question do baking powder make a reaction right away I deleted the first comment I want to make sure what you were talking about so I can give you the correct comment

Have you tried getting larger scoops? They make 2 cup and 3 cup scoops. It might help with larger amounts.
