    Bob, after my parachute accident, while in the Army, I was told I would be in so much pain by the time I reached 30, I was 22, and would be wheelchair bound by 35. I am 6o now and still on my feet, every step hurts like you would not believe. What I'm saying is doctors don't know how strong the human mind and body are. I believe you can affect your illness, mostly through your outlook and ability to push yourself forward. Diet and exercise are of upmost importance as well. My money is on you and those people around you. Something is happening to you, breathe and step through it, something Brad should know about, with his martial background. Breathe, breathe deep, bring in fresh air, get your mind in gear, think, use your mind, play games anything and everything to keep your mind and body going. You are the only warrior on this battlefield and the only way to loose, is to quit trying. You got this, FIGHT! However, never forget your support system, they will go through hell for you, so lean on them when necessary. You are going to fall, we all do, I have spinal stenosis and nerve damage which cause me to fall all the time. You learn, check yourself out, make sure your ok, roll over and get up. You and your team have this, believe that and no matter how your illness leaves you, you'll land on your feet. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Be well.

      Thanks for this Raymond. I know it wasn't meant for me per se but I've nicked it! 😁 Taken screenshot to keep on my phone...those wobbly moments itll give me a good kick. Fighting back from a stroke 💫 (from the onset understood it wasnt 'recovery' as they like to say, but that it really is a 'fight'!).

      No nicking, it is a gift, please share as often as you wish.
      Always remember, we are much stronger than we think we are. I will never regain all that was lost, neither will you. However, by fighting, we are stronger than we were yesterday and that is no small feat. We have to fight for ourselves, because others can only support what we decide to do, so fight for yourself. Sure makes life a lot more interesting. Be well, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

      @@Raymond.Butler Thank you for sharing so generously and graciously. Your kindness brought a smile to my face today. And all the best to you always (PS: I'm an Army Brat and my dad served at the same time you did. Thank you for your service and all you gave for this country. )

    • @Raymond.Butler
      @Raymond.Butler 2 года назад +2

      @@tammygant4216 Thank you, encouragement from someone in simular shoes makes a great deal of difference. The advice I received after my accident, made me feel like blowing my brains out. However, after I realized, they had no clue who I am, I decided to let my mind take over.. No one knows you, in that you don't know how powerful you are and what you are capable of. I really learned that as a paratrooper and what we had to push ourselves to do. I did not want to be a cripple and pushed myself to prove I wasn't. Doing that nearly made me completely wheelchair bound, but I learned that pushing was good, as long as you are aware of the damage you are doing.
      I don't want another disabled person, with crappy doctors, to think there is nothing they can do to improve their life. People have disabilities, disabilities have people, which side of that coin is your choice. I used to love the post schools, those kids put another spin on my service. I was not married, nor did I have children, but somehow those kids, were my families children. You didn't know it, but you kids pushed me harder to do better, just by being there. Thank you for that.

    I really appreciate this. With plantar fasciitis and a bad back and bad knees and just bad alignment (it all goes together, ugh...) it's my quest to find the stretches that make it possible to workout without making everything worse! Thank you.

    • @happycook6737
      @happycook6737 2 года назад

      I had bad plantar fasciitis years ago. I had to buy shoes bigger & wide enough for my feet which I had not been doing. I also bought Sorbothane insoles. Get the one that is all black as it has the most Sorbothane. Beware fakes online. Use company website to locate a real seller. I also wore a gel donut heel cushion on top of the Sorbothane for 1 year and did PT stretches. The Sorbothane cost $25 and lasted me 20 years. I'm very overweight so you know they hold up. They reduce impact by 96%. I never got plantar fasciitis again. Nothing else worked for me but this did. Shoes from Mt. Emey/Apis in El Monte, California (Mary Janes or Sandals or pumps in sizes much wider than ww) or Men's New Balance tennis shoes because men's are a lot wider than women's. Hope this helps. PS None of these companies compensate me for my recommendation but they should. 🤣

It works your hamstrings, glutes and low back , it has helped me tremendously. In my age I already have disc degenerative disease in my low back which really sucks but using a Roman chair has helped me so much . Stretching my hamstrings helped me a little at first but strengthening them has helped me so much more , I can’t recommend a Roman chair more . Try eating 2 tablespoons of sun flower seeds daily if your doctor allows you and drink a bit more water. I have to do this in the summer as I live in a hot place. My doctor told me about the sunflower seeds. My calf cramps were so fierce I thought I had another blood clot! My aunt rubs on a magnesium lotion that stops cramps. It is too expensive for me to buy at $20/ bottle. She has MS and says the cream works. I get the seeds already hulled and without salt because I hate salty tasting things
