Wow I can’t believe the high register he reaches on this versions demo. I’m a musician and songwriter myself and I have trouble hitting the chorus notes vocally from the flaming pie version which was in the key of A. This was on another level.
I agree-this is a leaner, more confident version of the song. The production on most of "Return to Pepperland" seems dated to me (especially the drums) but I think this song sounds great, and the absence of the extra instruments lets the song breathe.
I prefer this version. One of my favorite McCartney vocals toward the end, nice live drums; the rawness balances the classic (but predictable) chord changes
Plus the Flaming Pie version has the totally gratuitous coda, with Ringo drumming and George Martin orchestrations- it’s also great, I just like the directness of the original demo. Flaming Pie , don’t get me wrong, great album !
Paul's vocal passion on the fade out is simply stunning. Gave me goosebumps. Thanks Paul!
Simply a delicious jewel, amazing demo of an amazing song from the best songwriter of 20th century.
Agreed
He still puts out great songs. So I would call him the 2. Mozart or the greatest musician of all time!

もちろん
フレイミングパイはしっています。
フレイミングパイのバージョンはリンゴが目立っていますね。
私はこの未発表バージョンのほうが、ピアノの美しさ、ポールのボーカルまさっていて好きです。
The best version of this song I’ve heard! It rocks!
Way better than the Flaming Pie version. Liberty makes a huge difference.

Gracias Paul por acompañarme con tu mágica música por 62 años.
Eso suena a despedida 😕.
This version is better than the one on Flaming Pie - stronger, less schmaltzy

Ringo is one of my favorite drummers, but the drummer for this demo nailed it versus Ringo's drumming in the "Flaming Pie" recording of this song.
This is Billy Joel's drummer Liberty Devito.
@@timallen2336 No way! :o That's awesome, love Liberty's work on Billy's songs.
He was 45 years old when he made this song. What a voice
I don’t understand why it was abandoned and divided up to other projects. This would’ve been a hit record in 87’
великолепное исполнение, прекрасная песня, одним словом - супер !!!
Love this version!
I ❤️ Paul
I suppose exactly in those months Julian Lennon was making his Valotte which sounds very similar to this
Valotte was recorded in 1984. Two years before this.
Very nice!
Que bonita vercion
Much better version than the released in flaming pie album.
Discordo.
フレイミングパイバージョンはリンゴが頑張りすぎてますね
Where can i buyand find this cd
Where can i buy this and find it
Flaming pie version is a lot better
Sounds like a demo version, but even the demo is pretty damn good.
This is a demo. The whole 'album' is just a bootleg of demos.
nice version
