He would truly kill it now. He knows his limitations and he'll never run out of hits. It's not like where do I place the hits, it's which hits should I choose now. G.O.A.T.
I absolutely love the coda of this song. When Ringo sings the lead vocal and Paul joins him with the high harmony, it's probably the single most Beatle-sounding thing since, well, the Beatles.
The last album to feature Linda. So nice seeing her here with Paul singing as a couple. Gone the very next year. The end of a great pop romance. They were a beautiful couple.
I watched a doc on the making of the album. Paul said he had recorded this song already but it didn't sound right. So he brought in Ringo. Everything came together. I'm glad they still work together. They are still the Bealtes.
Ringo's part at the end with the orchestral backing brings the song to a crescendo which is out of this world and, IMHO, helps send this tune into the stratosphere! :)
Every single one of those strings musicians and horn players a polished absolute professional, it’s so cool that they get to play George martin’s vision for a McCartney song. I’m so glad to be alive when classical music met electrical music. When the horns hit that chord around @4:00 it gives me chills. Soooooo good
This song puts a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes when I hear it. Knowing Linda was so ill, the love of his life, and Ringo with him as well. Just a beautiful song, lovely video.
I love this song because it takes you into a dream of a beautiful night. You can see all the instruments. My favorite is the 🎺, and the string instruments. When the 🎺 take off at the end. It makes you feel like flying. Okay, I’m sure this is just opinion, but this is why I ❤️ Paul McCartney’s music so much. He tells a story, and while you listen you’re in his story. Again just my opinion.
The album is, imo, the greatest of all the Beatles solo albums. I think it has a lot to do with the fact it was recorded soon after the Anthlogy series. I believe Paul was deep into his former Beatle persona at this time. I also read somewhere that "Beautiful Night" was basically written when the band was together but never finished. I'd like to confirm if that's true. Finally, speaking of underrated, the song "Somedays" is so profoundly exquisite both in it's haunting melody & soulful lyrics, I believe it is the equal of any of Macca's endless stream of beautiful ballads, yet it gets so little attention. Great to see Ringo & the 5th Beatle, Sir Martin dancing away on this. How I miss them being together but so grateful to have grown up having them in my life!
@@dealmakerdb Beautiful Night was written in the Return To Pepperland/All The Best sessions in 1986. Check out the Paul McCartney Project for more info.
It's so great to see Paul and Ringo messing about, some of the Beatles BEST stuff came from this type of low key goofing around, Ringo is so underrated not just as drummer but just a great guy to hang out with, it's really hard to be creative when you feel the pressure of studio costs or some ah*le empty-suit from the record company breathing down your neck, Paul of course is a musical genius but Ringo treats him like he's just a mate from the pub. :)
I am the biggest paul fan and beatles fan, but to call rap crap is just ignorance on your part, probably shows your age, I do only like the real good rap eminem etc not the mumble stuff, Music Paul admitted he likes, so leave it out
I love how Paul is wearing a University of Arizona sweatshirt. They had a ranch in Arizona with some of their horses. I believe that is where Linda was when she died. 😢
there are so many wonderful things in the song! Paul and Linda singing, Ringo singing in the end and the up tempo finish like the Beatles did in "Hello Goodbye as well as the awesome George Martin Producing along with Jeff Emerick and Abey Road Studio. This is just missing 2 more guys and it would be a true Beatles song
What a great insight into how Paul works with George Martin. Lovely orchestration, so much richer an arrangement than the Pepperland earlier version. Also so sad that George and Linda, seen here, have passed.
This segment feels like The Beatles' epilogue even moreso than the Anthology stuff. The return to Abbey Road and George Martin's nonchalant entrance at 3:03 (great filming/editing choice by the filmmakers) to the swell of string arrangement are just so understated and moving.
I don't know how much George Martin had to do with this but anytime he's around, Paul writes better. Probably McCartney's greatest song since Abbey Road. So cool to hear Ringo playing & singing with him again. Wish they would've done it more.
Greatest song since 69??? U need to listen to some Wings... but yes, it's nerve wrecking that even macca fans don't know much about this (and the Flaming pie álbum, for that matter)
Macca as composer, ringo on drums, Martin on orchestration, lynne on production, and linda as the ever present inspiration muse... the song is a winner even before making its way out...
Everybody goes on about Lennon/McCartney collaborations… this has to be one of the bestest McCartney/Martin master-pieces ever. Gotta love Lucy Martins creations. Donatella of course!
I love it! This is so good. Paul, Ringo, and George Martin we’re working just as they were during the Beatles sessions. This video is pure gold. Paul is a consistent genius. This song is amongst his best, no doubt. And what an amazing complete team effort here
Paul McCartney and geniuses of composing a song together love seeing George Martin, Ringo Starr, Linda McCartney ..... Just putting this song together is mind blowing WOW ....B beautiful night lordy lordy!!!!!!
A very nice video, including the violins and horns. And, to my opinion, this song is part of the best album Paul made after the Beatles: "Flaming Pie". All the song on that piece are marvellous!
This reminded me of the effort I put into my recordings, except I'm a lot more tense and stressed. Nice to see Paul create genius compositions and still be laid back, makes sense after recording so many masterpieces.
What a remarkable musical life this man has had so far! Looking back to that first day "the boys" walked into that studio...it's incredible. Somewhere George Martin must have talked about Paul's innate talent and his growth as a composer. The man is MADE of music. (Sadly, I think this is the last recording that includes Linda.)
Its so nice to see the "behind the seens" ; they still always have fun together, I love the violins...so beautiful...I love this...thank you for sharing!♡♡♡ its beautiful...
I love this too, i haven't seen it for ages. I remember george martin wearing the song sheet pretending it was a shawl and good to see linda again too, bless her! i live in liverpool and i drive past john lennons childhood home on menlove avenue when i pick up my gf from work at john lennon airport. I always wanted to visit their childhood homes. we will one day.
Just the strings touch ya heart, it’s so beautiful with just the orchestra and strings I thought and still think it’s his greatest song since The Beatles
El simple echo de crear musica a traves de unas cuantas palabras, o viceversa, y que eso se convierta en música clasica y que varios esten tocando sus instrumentos... eso es de genios musicales como Paul.
1997 on #mymusicalroadto50 Paul McCartney - Beautiful Night After the Beatles resurgence the year before, McCartney came up with an inspired solo effort. I love this song, and it is one of my favorite McCartney songs. It is interesting how you got a lot of music legends working on this album, you got Linda McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Martin and Jeff Lynne.
A beautiful song like this makes every night a beautiful night - from Paul's swan song album with Linda. I'll always be grateful to Sir Paul for sharing his sense of joy and optimism he apparently gets just from being alive.
R.I.P. George Martin and Linda 😭
And Geoff Emerick.
Paul never sings this song live. He should
He's getting older
It a BIG production number. Love George Martin, Ringo and Linda in it.
It’s too high of a key for him to sing now, yes he could transpose it but he doesn’t seem to do that much.
He should especially sing that “cuz you’re a bastard…” part. 😂😂
He would truly kill it now. He knows his limitations and he'll never run out of hits. It's not like where do I place the hits, it's which hits should I choose now. G.O.A.T.
ringo, paul, linda and George martin.....just perfect
And Jeff Lynne. Amazing beyond belief!
And Geoff Emerick
and Paul's voice was better then than it subsequently became.
Beautiful song. Underplayed. Ringo adds a great touch.
He is such a beautiful man. With a incredibly beautiful voice.
R.I.P George Martin
The fifth Beatle.
Actually, I think he's probably still involved in music rather than resting.
And Linda
I absolutely love the coda of this song. When Ringo sings the lead vocal and Paul joins him with the high harmony, it's probably the single most Beatle-sounding thing since, well, the Beatles.
jeffgoblue don't forget the Beatles reunion songs tho
It's two Beatles, which is one more than there are on Yesterday, Cried For No One and Blackbird.
He has a lot of Beatle-sounding tunes.
Except for the George and Ringo recordings.
That's what I was thinking. Even with just Paul and Ringo voices it sounds like The Beatles again.
Genius at work.
❤
Paul had just gotten his Knighthood, which is why the guys are doing that kneeling & bowing...Paul is so cute...
What another beautiful song from the genius Paul❤
"...And here we have Lucy Martin, in a lovely creation by Versace..."
"Donattelo, of course...." ;)
😂😂😂
@@spotteddogmusic6147 Donatella Versace...

The pinnacle of the history and development of popular music in the 20th Century. thank you george and paul for a lifetime of beautiful music.
Couldn't say it better... it really is a landmark...
One of the most formidable teams in music history, McCartney and Martin.

Nice to see Linda. You can can see the love she has for Paul in her eyes. 💖🇬🇧

I by totally agree with you
Yep, you could see it in his face that he knew he was going to lose Linda. 😞
Yes,tears flowing here,,I loved Linda so much, and them together,,wonderful..life is so cruel..
This is one of his bestselling hits .HE JUST SO ADORABLE. SUCH A INCREDIBLE TALENT MAN.I JUST GOD

Love those strings especially
Paul has melody and music pouring out of his body, 24/7. Such a rare talent. And what what is called "music" today is rap crap and drum machines.

That's one strong statement! There is something about this song though, that really does harken back to those great years.
Wings is hugely slept on.
That silence...and then the drums -- bap bap, bap, bap -- and the thrilling, warm boom of Paul's Hofner bass...CHILLS EVERY TIME...
This is such a beautiful song . I LOVEEEEE IT. One of the best by Paul. Amazing..

Jeff Lynne at 1:26 and again at 1:46; a beautiful song....
