That has always blown my mind, that lower volume companies like Hasselblad have incredible user interfaces and the big tech companies do not. Probably has something to do with the design by committee mindset.
@@kongie92 I just looked it up, I had no Idea that DJI got a majority stake in Hasselblad in 2015. I have kind of hated DJI Drone apps but they can make a great camera interface.

I'm sure there will be great trade in's, for either CFV 50C or the CFV II 50C, for the new CFV 100C, when the latter is officially launched! Good luck if you go down this route!
This is pretty cool, I just wish the sensor was true medium format 6x6 size, not the 44x33mm crop size. But I guess with current lens lineup this is all we'll get.
OMG, just the first 2 minutes had me laughing like crazy. Very entertaining video. Thanks! From your lighting when showing the menus (for example 4:46) it looks like the back physical buttons have their pictures indented and painted unlike the old CFV50II where it was just painted on and wore off after a few dozen presses. That's a good change. The hot shoe is a huge deal from the specs. This just looks like a really good update.
I would argue the M10-D is a bit more "analogue" for a digital camera. It's either an app or looking at the photos later to see anything digital wise. The Pixii is pretty close too, just with the little screen for settings, that's nice. I've wanted for years for one of the companies that makes box cameras for video to make a modular-ish version for photo as a limited run thing from Panasonic or something. I've used the older HB back on a film body, and it was neat, but I didn't really get anything out of it quality wise that I wouldn't other cameras I own, even MFT. Obviously the MFT sensor is tiny compared, but I also sold off my Fuji GFX 50R that I barely used and stuck with my MFT, Sigma fp L (mostly used as APS-C mode for lenses I have for my Leica CL), Pentax KP, and Pentx 645Z. Yes, the IQ is better, and the system is beutiful, but for me, it's not the right tool for the job because I need something a bit more durable and easier to replace. I have a Leica CL and M10-D, but only because I got both much lower than the general asking price. If I had to spend the money on the experience... Eh, I'd just shoot with my 645Z. If I had to buy something I didn't have, then of these for a film body I suppose.
Hello Kai, At last a reviewer who gets the Hasselblad X system, and its interface it is just amazing to use. As some one who has the X1D and the X2D with a host of lenses I have to say if you use it as it was designed the result are just stunning.
Really cool camera. But living here in Arizona having a viewfinder is a must. The sun is always out and it is strong. I rarely use a screen, it is difficult to see anything.
about the turn on speed - I never even turn off my 100 year old Canon 6D. It just sleeps always on. Even if I have to turn it on after charging the battery, it is on faster than I finish switching the ON button..
Am I the only one that noticed all of the Hasselblad 907x + CFV100 reviews that popped up today all at the same time with the relatively same video recipe? Hopefully everyone gets to keep a copy for peddling the product.
shooting from the hip, heaven. Don't like Hasselblad of late but this cold convert anyone? Could it be the fix they always needed, I bet even Patrick Demarchieler would be excited...
Design Price … all fine and great that they added a 1TB SSD … but no IBIS is a killer for me - so I will go for the X2D and get an analog 503cw just for fun
I haven’t seen any reviews yet that had a chance to film in bright sunlight. Without an evf I wonder how easy that will be to see and adjust settings when things are bright. Maybe needs a small loupe?
Very cool camera, especially if someone wants to use full frame lenses beyond their official potential. But in my book it's lacking a bigger sensor. The 100Mpix is hyped too much and talked about too much. 50Mpix and an actually full frame medium format sensor would be a dream come true!
Erm, Hasselblad have already done that, twice? In fact, Hasselblad launched the 907x camera body (same one in this vid) but with the CFV II 50C digital back, which is 50MP! The prototype, and soon to be released, new update isn't the 907x camera body (that's the thin part of the modular design, between the lens and digital back), but the new 100MP digital back, CFV 100C. The new digital back is also the non-identical twin to the Hasselblad X2D, though later has IBIS image stabilisation (neither CFV's have that); that's due to different photography needs and usage case. So, if you were wishing for 50MP cameras from Hasselblad, they have already done it, in this form factor, when they first released the 907x concept!
Nikon, Canon and Sony didn't redesign their UIs when they moved to mirrorless format. It was a good opportunity to do so. It was the time to do it. They could have hired third-party consultants to help them do it. Wonder why. Their UIs look like the engineers designed them; didn't do any usability tests. Maybe they're afraid to change their crappy legacy UIs.
@@dmystify1381 I'm not suggesting Sony, Nikon and Canon copying Hasselblad's UI. But they could have done something different and still improving their crappy UIs.

Hey guys great review. Is there any info on adapting other medium format lenses to this camera for example the Rollei 6000 series medium format lenses???
As a former CFV 50C owner, I have to warn interested buyers that it’s virtually impossible to nail a sharp photo when you mount the back on 500 bodies. Also, if you mount third party lenses, I’m told the read out speed has increased significantly but still prone to rolling shutter depending on your shooting style. I’d stick to XCD lenses. Otherwise, it’s definitely one of my three favorite cameras.
