When Kai uses a camera strap, it's an expensive camera
Hasselblads only.
to be fair this doesn't seem to be made for hands.
Ah... so this must be made for feet then.
@@jim0_o Handsfeelbad
@@jim0_o have you seen the accessory grip?
Been with you since the early (pre-this-channel) days, so awesome to still hear Lok behind the camera and see him in the vids
That has always blown my mind, that lower volume companies like Hasselblad have incredible user interfaces and the big tech companies do not. Probably has something to do with the design by committee mindset.
Sony - we make the playstation! And we put the idiots onto camera menu design..
I'm guessing the engineers designed their user interfaces. Didn't bother to conduct any usability tests.
Hasselblad is owned by a tech company
@@kongie92 I just looked it up, I had no Idea that DJI got a majority stake in Hasselblad in 2015. I have kind of hated DJI Drone apps but they can make a great camera interface.
@@Zarphag It's crazy because they came out with the revolutionary A9 but still have such mediocre interfaces. I guess it only makes sense to be as good as the direct competition. Sony isn't really cross-shoped with Hasselblad lol
I properly laughed out loud when Kai said "like Pikachu in high heels".
11:00 - Oi! I heard that! But fair comment, I can be a giant floating head of doom at times. PS - Pikachu in heels, that's something that's going to be hard to forget anytime soon...
Never get a new head Gordon. We've come accustomed to the one you got.
👍
@@lackoliver55 exactly, you gotta have consistent test conditions and subjects.
A lovely mix if 1920s retro and 2020s futurisim.
The original Hasselblad SW, of which the 907 is in a way the spiritual successor, came out in 1956.
@@vyrnmn true, the leatherette, chrome and waist level viewfinder is kind of the vibe I was thinking about.
A new video from Kai and Lok is always a great way to start a morning!
The saturation and contrast seems incredible
You’re getting closer and closer to 1Million subs Kai!
First time watching your channel and I loved your humor so I had to leave a like and subscribe. Great review
The colours look amazing, the images look amazing. Nice camera
This is pretty cool, I just wish the sensor was true medium format 6x6 size, not the 44x33mm crop size. But I guess with current lens lineup this is all we'll get.
What a time for these RUclipsrs to be alive where Hasselblad gives you a free $13k USD camera!
On loan lol
its a loaner.
This video is so cool, Kai!
Kai just pumped Pikachu with high heels on… We’ve all officially lived now. 😂
OMG, just the first 2 minutes had me laughing like crazy. Very entertaining video. Thanks!
From your lighting when showing the menus (for example 4:46) it looks like the back physical buttons have their pictures indented and painted unlike the old CFV50II where it was just painted on and wore off after a few dozen presses. That's a good change. The hot shoe is a huge deal from the specs. This just looks like a really good update.
im firmly convinced that this plus the 45mm f4 would be the ultimate street photo rig.
The long-awaited 100C back omg
ikr......😭😭😭just when i had given up....And launched into Large format......🤣😂
Great review, it's just a beauty!
Laughed a lot, loved it
The color science is beautiful
*Absolutely beautiful camera and hardware and pictures, however no weather sealing is beyond unacceptable at this point.*
I bloomin' love it!
I would argue the M10-D is a bit more "analogue" for a digital camera. It's either an app or looking at the photos later to see anything digital wise. The Pixii is pretty close too, just with the little screen for settings, that's nice.
I've wanted for years for one of the companies that makes box cameras for video to make a modular-ish version for photo as a limited run thing from Panasonic or something. I've used the older HB back on a film body, and it was neat, but I didn't really get anything out of it quality wise that I wouldn't other cameras I own, even MFT. Obviously the MFT sensor is tiny compared, but I also sold off my Fuji GFX 50R that I barely used and stuck with my MFT, Sigma fp L (mostly used as APS-C mode for lenses I have for my Leica CL), Pentax KP, and Pentx 645Z. Yes, the IQ is better, and the system is beutiful, but for me, it's not the right tool for the job because I need something a bit more durable and easier to replace.
I have a Leica CL and M10-D, but only because I got both much lower than the general asking price. If I had to spend the money on the experience... Eh, I'd just shoot with my 645Z. If I had to buy something I didn't have, then of these for a film body I suppose.
Hey guys great review. Is there any info on adapting other medium format lenses to this camera for example the Rollei 6000 series medium format lenses???
Especially considering the huge resolution; would have loved to seen this with a square sensor.
As someone who has just purchased the CFV50c I am both furious and excited - Clifton Cameras we need to talk
I'm sure there will be great trade in's, for either CFV 50C or the CFV II 50C, for the new CFV 100C, when the latter is officially launched!
Good luck if you go down this route!
i feel your pain...i really really do.
I haven’t seen any reviews yet that had a chance to film in bright sunlight. Without an evf I wonder how easy that will be to see and adjust settings when things are bright. Maybe needs a small loupe?
For that kind of money they better have a fantastic menu system, and of course they delivered
damn it. This is awesome with the 500c body. Waist level finder is such a nice way to take photos. Now if they can do a Rollie like this.....
Just imagine this camera in an actual 500-series body where the LCD screen is inside the waist level finder.
Ah this is such a cool camera!
Like Pikachu with high heels is a saying I'm stealing 😂
My dream camera.
"pikachu with high heels" You are officially my hero today.
Beautiful.
Just wondering, what kind of work would benefit this type of camera? 🤔
It is indeed the sexy Pikachu of cameras.
Very nice camera and images. Is the vignetting and colour tone change at the edges an editing choice or an inherit feature of the sensor?
vignetting comes from the lenses or post processing, not the sensor
voice starting at 4:45 beautiful
@kaimanwong you can only choose one. Hasselblad X2D 100C or 907x/CFV 100C?
whith the grip haha wait for a update fot the x2d 100c update. my opinion. the dream camera for landscape photography maybe a tilt screen that makes it the fuji killer
I like it, I want it🤩
That's insane 1TB inside? I remember being blown away by an internal 55mb on compact cameras back then being able to take like 29 jpegs/2 raws
Really cool camera. But living here in Arizona having a viewfinder is a must. The sun is always out and it is strong. I rarely use a screen, it is difficult to see anything.
What is your favorite body at the end? I really hesitate which one to buy!! Thanks!!!!
Hello Kai, At last a reviewer who gets the Hasselblad X system, and its interface it is just amazing to use. As some one who has the X1D and the X2D with a host of lenses I have to say if you use it as it was designed the result are just stunning.
Like how he pumps it
I loved my Ricoh GXR😮😊
Instant watch
Can it be used with 500C/M?
BTW, great video. Been following you guys for years
That’s like the good times Hong Kong at that time, keep it going 👍😃
This reminds me of the younger uncontrolled you when i 1st started watching you
I have the 50 CFV. Would love to acquire the new model. Quick question. Does it have video capture? The 50 CFV does.
nope
about the turn on speed - I never even turn off my 100 year old Canon 6D. It just sleeps always on. Even if I have to turn it on after charging the battery, it is on faster than I finish switching the ON button..
$8100 US. Yikes! I need a second paper route. I love that the back will attach to my 500C/M
Finest camera intro to date
"Hasselblad I want to pump your ring" 🤣😂🤣
Only 399 us? Awesome!
Try $8200
shooting from the hip, heaven. Don't like Hasselblad of late but this cold convert anyone? Could it be the fix they always needed, I bet even Patrick Demarchieler would be excited...
I subscribed to this channel from day one, and this video didn’t pop up in my feed. what is youtube doing??
Would be a showpiece, conversation starter for me.
Design Price … all fine and great that they added a 1TB SSD … but no IBIS is a killer for me - so I will go for the X2D and get an analog 503cw just for fun
if they make a sensor with ibis for the 907x. I would buy it.
69 minutes max shutter speed? Nice!
"69, Dude!" - Bill and Ted
Followed by: "Whoa!" Depending on when you watch that part.
I am just feeling in the ebay ether prices for old Hasselblad 500cm prices, or any V system cameras, going up...
they been going up steadily for a couple of years now. They aint coming down anytime.
Am I the only one that noticed all of the Hasselblad 907x + CFV100 reviews that popped up today all at the same time with the relatively same video recipe?
Hopefully everyone gets to keep a copy for peddling the product.
Could you try it with a xpan lens?
Do you edit the photos or is it SOOC?
I like having my controls on the outside
For a second I thought Kai said "A knob to the past"
Enjoying so wrooong😅
Darn the menu is just like the x2d
A great camera in the wrong hands
OK, I'm in. I wonder how much it costs.
Nikon, Canon and Sony didn't redesign their UIs when they moved to mirrorless format. It was a good opportunity to do so. It was the time to do it. They could have hired third-party consultants to help them do it. Wonder why. Their UIs look like the engineers designed them; didn't do any usability tests. Maybe they're afraid to change their crappy legacy UIs.
Hasselblad patented the ui well before sony had a chance to.
@@dmystify1381 I'm not suggesting Sony, Nikon and Canon copying Hasselblad's UI. But they could have done something different and still improving their crappy UIs.
Doesn't even have EVF. Why would you get this over X2D? I think I'll go with the latter as it will pair well with my M10R.
I'm sure the grip is worth more than every camera I've ever owned put together, but I think it's a little sweet, gotta admit it.
the grip is only 790usd.That's,cheaper than a wife or girlfriend, or maybe your boy....ohhhh never mind.
If this thing had IBIS, i'd be all over it.
It’s built to be on tripod
When this camera is old and obsolete I will buy one just to put on a shelf.
🌟
All that to be compressed in ig short edge 1080p
Love how Lok pronounce Huser-blood 😂
Imagine talking selfies with this on a gorilla pod with a wider lens on vacation haha. Then pop it off for the stills around ur neck and just put it in ur pocket🥶
Can we have a few RAW files to better appreciate the quality of the photos?
Very cool camera, especially if someone wants to use full frame lenses beyond their official potential. But in my book it's lacking a bigger sensor. The 100Mpix is hyped too much and talked about too much. 50Mpix and an actually full frame medium format sensor would be a dream come true!
Erm, Hasselblad have already done that, twice?
In fact, Hasselblad launched the 907x camera body (same one in this vid) but with the CFV II 50C digital back, which is 50MP!
The prototype, and soon to be released, new update isn't the 907x camera body (that's the thin part of the modular design, between the lens and digital back), but the new 100MP digital back, CFV 100C.
The new digital back is also the non-identical twin to the Hasselblad X2D, though later has IBIS image stabilisation (neither CFV's have that); that's due to different photography needs and usage case.
So, if you were wishing for 50MP cameras from Hasselblad, they have already done it, in this form factor, when they first released the 907x concept!
@@TheOneInYellow I think they mean a full sized MF sensor
New at this aint ya....nice little spiel tho...🤣😂@@TheOneInYellow
Would it kill them to produce a square sensor?
No but it would double or tripple the price since square CMOS sensors don’t exist and would have to be produced exclusively for this system. Instead of just sourcing the mass produced 44x33 from Sony like all MF players. The other thing is that their whole lens line up is optimised for the 44x33 sensors..
I'm very happy with 20.1MP...

Isn't the only reason to have this many pixels is if you want to make large prints?
That's like a rolls royce
I’m surprised Hasselbad is still in business.
It’s like Pikachu with high heels. 😂
In 10 yrs, 150mp, 120fps, iris AF and 80,000s sync speed.
Reviewers, ‘You can really see a difference if you routinely print wall sized prints!’
Wouldn't it be nice if the sensor was square?
Please bring alamby❤

I'll wait for Chris and Jordan for a useful review.
Not putting shutter speed and aperture in the new lenses was a missed opportunity for this camera, shame.
6:14.... well it is kinda in the title mate...
would you say its Kai-wai? /s
