I just got the cold steel mini tac bowie i believe its called for $15 on prime day. I cant remember which edc channel recommended it? Maybe you? And the knife is dope! Blade crazy sharp. But the handle sucks ass lol. And waiting on a pocket clip for it from china lol. I been trying to get into the fixed blades but idk. 🤷♂️
I have lots of the older Cold Steel stuff, made prior to them selling out. The new company's quality control is $shit!!! For well made, budget friendly knives, I now go with BPS, or Joker knives. You will not be disappointed.
The AMZ link led to KHU store, 3 marked D2 but not this exact knife. Still I ordered 2 cuz of price and this review. I'd not heard of KHU but the price and apparent quality looks great. I'll check in a few weeks to if this was just oos, since I prefer drop point to tanto.
I bought an applegate fairbairn boot knife from boker, it came with the worst POS sheath I've ever seen, rattles like crazy and the tech lock is garbage.
Full tang isn’t necessary for a string cutting, box or package opening fixed blade. A hard use blade I’d go for full tang. Honestly how many real world people hard use our fixed blades every day?
Agreed you don't need to have it .. but on the other hand in this day and age, you can get an extremely solid full tang fixie for 30-40$. It's almost like a why not thing. I like to teach what I've been taught and for anyone who is really new, id hate to lead them to a non full tang, they go to beat on it and the blade shears off the handle or something. I love a good mora etc but it can't hold a candle to something with a full tang construction. To your point how many people really need it, well probably not many but if they want it there are options out here.
A lot of the knife world is based on need but I think the majority is based off of a want. I don't need 500 knives but I want them 😂 I don't need 5 ARs and 5 AKs but I want them

Why in the name of Steven Seagal will these companies not put grommets on both sides of the sheath? It makes mounting with bungee cord so much easier.
