Hi , FPse ( not the 64 bit version) is a better emulator, more shaders, Vulkan, OpenGL , more options etc, it looks great on the Nvidia Shield TV.. , it's only on Android though , they need a PC version
Shaders can blur the image while embolding the outlines giving it a gamecube look. No shaders can look sharper and a little darker giving it a more natural look and arguably better. 👍💯 good vid
I've been hunting so hard and cant find these files for bloom and celshading, I've downloaded dolphin and duckstation and checked both shaders folders, I dont see one in there called bloom or celshading, can you please help me out chief
Duckstation have that kind of Shader: -Under Post Processing settings (make sure it's enabled with a check mark next to it) Click Add then Select CRT-NewPixie [ReShade] You can even adjust the curviture and other settings on it.
No man, you don't get it. CRT emulation is if you want the console experience. But in that case you may as well stick to the console. Emulation is all about enhancing the graphics.
For me, attempts with shaders always felt like poor efforts to enhance something that could look truly professional. Real hardware isn’t necessary; CRT emulation and PGXP do an excellent job on their own. But everyone as he likes.🤷
@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760 Emulation allows older games and software to be accessible on *modern* devices, *preserving* them through *accurate* reproduction of the *original* experience. Enhanced graphics and added features are a welcome *bonus*.
@@jhna314 It goes beyond accessibility. The whole idea of pc gaming is that you have more freedom - freedom to do as you please. There are no rules when it comes to emulation. The whole idea is that you can do whatever you want. But often videos like these get disliked into oblivion because console fanboys can't get over the fact that pc is better.
@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760 So from your experience, Swanstation is more performant than Duckstation? I'm going to be setting up emulators very soon for a home cabinet, so this of interest to me.
@@AFourEyedGeek Swanstation is not only more performant, but it's also more accurate. Try playing Tekken 3 on Duckstation (spoiler: it has vertex issues). Then try it on Swanstation - no issues at all. I only tested a few games (about twelve or so) and invariably Swanstation was better.
@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760 thanks, that makes life easier using a RetroArch core. I'll keep an eye on updates to see if the situation changes. I'll be using a 4:3 CRT monitor that'll run games at 4x the resolution.

Shaders off looks beautiful.
Great comparison, the music choice or volume level could be dialed down a little
3:30 Aren't these regular scenarios where real PS1 hardware would chug a little? Did you try overclocking the CPU?

Bro how is retroarch better? It's so cumbersome to use and I think DS has way more options and is likely more accurate (Correct me if I'm wrong)
Try playing Tekken 3 or Le Mans 24 Hours on Duckstation. Then come back to me.
Shaders look great. I like it. I will try it on my pc and see how it looks. Thanks for the tutorials

What edge thickness for the cel shading
I can't remember anymore. Don't be afraid to experiment some. Default looks great as well.
What are the 3 shaders you used with Spyro?
What I'm looking for is good CRT shader that emulate the curve, scan lines, and the glow of CRT tv...

@@francisquebachmann7375 Thank you for the lead, its beautiful for sure, playing it on my OLED make it glow loke what I remember back in the day
I like the ones on RetroArch. Usually just use the core swanstation which i think is based on duckstation
I like "CRT-royale"
And where is the difference? I don't see any significant advantage.
Basically not much is needed. Good CRT Emulation and a bit Pixel interpolation.

Which PS1 core do you use in RetroArch? Swanstation or pcsx-rearmed?
Swanstation.

Where are the bezzels?
Shaders simulate crt, how I used to see it
I've been playing around with reshade on pcsx2. Gonna give it a try with duckstation.
Not a fan of these shaders at all
The great thing is, you don't have to use them if you don't want to.

@@mikenice182 Are you talking about my selection or the shaders within Retroarch itself?
I almost don't see no difference tbh
So you're saying make sure to turn shaders off?
It depends on the game, I guess.
Looks worse with the shaders IMHO 🤷♂
Like for Wice
Prefiero mil veces shader off aunque en algunos juegos como Rayman y tom raider se veian bastante bien
I always apply these shaders to get nice game look with quality
