The last time I did 2x internal res on 3rd Strike with CRT royale I got strong image retention (IPS). Was only a 5 minute session too. My dream is to run this on an oled with enough brightness to run proper bfi.
I love these and they're extremely dialed-in--but the one drawback I find in them is that the colors are a little shifted towards green, compared to the default configuration. Do you know how to adjust that setting specifically? I think I prefer a little more neutrality in that regard.
I'm testing a preset that, in addition to bringing the qualities of the crt TV, seeks to make the graphics in high definition corresponding to the size or dimensions of modern TVs and monitors: I'm using 8 shaders (total, ordered sequence) trying like this: anti-flicker; mdapt (has 5 steps of it); xbrzfree (2x on the scale); crt-hyllian. obs.: in the parameters I edit "0.38" for the option "scanlines Strength". Disable, first, any graphic effects of emulators, especially the "bilinear filter", it is normally in the "video" options in the "settings" tab of RetroArch. The intention is to leave the image "pure" or original so as not to interfere with the result or the complete effect of the predefined shaders; I'm using this preset in almost every game with dithering, 2D with low resolution, any console/arcade/handheld from the 32bit era and below. If possible, someone test it out there, and write some criticism or advice, please.

I DID! I modified the shaders so it would look almost like my crt tv. The downloads are in the description. It's slang shaders if that makes any difference, just put them in the shaders folder inside retroarch. I don't know nothing about that reshade thingy 🦆
Probably won't. This was for RetroArch 1.10.3 and we're already in RetroArch 1.19.1. Most likely shaders have changed a bit and how they work. Just use the CRT royale and change it to your like. Nowadays I even prefer to use the CRT-Guest-HD shader.
Off topic questions my friend.. does duckstation ps1 emulator have a "depth buffer/Z buffer" so we can properly use an ssao shader or a dof shader using something like reshade or sweetfx ?
I actually have them, but what I wanted to test was the video filters CyberLab Mega Bezel Death To Pixels. I might do some gameplays with those reflection shaders.
@@worldogameplays You can use the CRT Shader effects without the Bezel you know. It's quite simple actually, just go into Shader Parameters --» [Aspect Ratio]: Set Type - Full (6.00) Then RetroArch Settings --» Video --» Scaling Set Integer Scale - On Integer Scale Overscale - On Aspect Ratio - 4:3 or Core Provided Crop Overscan - On Use the presets in my MBZ__2__Performance_No_Reflections folder. Of course my CRT Shader Presets do look best with the Bezel and realtime reflections.
@@worldogameplays Oh okay, well I also made some custom video filters to go along with mine or any other shader preset. I used to include them in my Shader Preset Pack but I've now split them into a separate download which is available in the same forum post as my Shader Preset Pack just a little below it. The file is called CyberLab Custom Blargg NTSC Video Filter Presets. These are what I use for de-dithering and I've now shared them with the community and the world. They are also available in the latest RetroArch nightly builds. Feel free to check them out!
Every shader exaggerates the scanlines and makes the pictures gray and washed out. Real CRTs can have very bright and vibrant colors. There's also way too much blurring. CRTs can be very sharp if the tube isn't shot to hell.
if you could just have the necessary power to add a shader that upscales, like 2xBRZ or, even better, scaleFX, it would be even more beautiful, don't you think ?
Hi! thanks for the video but retroarch can't find this extension, do i have to do something else? EDIT: Ok now i can see the files but now i got the "failed to apply shader" just like the other user reported here, and yes i tried a fresh install of Retroarch :(
I have a decent Sony Trinitron and some of these filters are hilarious, if you have a shitty, beat up CRT on the verge of dying then maybe they would be accurate.

Thanks for watching!
The scanlines give it much more depth perception.
O efeito de encontro entre linhas horizontais e verticais parece uma textura de tapete.

I don't know. You'll have to try some trial and error. Maybe it's the NTSC filters?
The settings you are looking for are display gamma / crt gamma.

My bad, I thought the post said video. Twitter gives you the option to upload pictures in 4K.
Thanks for the good job I'll try them today
You know where this will work wonderfully? 4k AMOLED 120hz phones. No other use for that resolution on a phone, other than a makeshift vr headset.
You recorded all of this on retroarch, right? I'm using a CRT-Royale port on ReShade but I doesn't quite look the same...

Hi. I'm trying to use your shader, but it doesn't load. Any thoughts on why it could be? I put it on the slang folder directly.

There`s should be composite emulation also, looks kinda weird without that
It's usually the bilinear filter or ntsc filter/shader
could you try chrono trigger with these shaders?
Yeah, maybe I'll do it.
I have a Video with CRT royale + MSU1 + Bloom Reshade if you want to see the result. Top shader for retroarch.
Off topic questions my friend.. does duckstation ps1 emulator have a "depth buffer/Z buffer" so we can properly use an ssao shader or a dof shader using something like reshade or sweetfx ?
Yes. In the Duckstation Settings, go to the Enhancements Settings, in the bottom enable PGXP and the Depth Buffer setting.
Hi mr. I downloaded the shaders and everytime i apply them
I got "failed to apply shader" and every other shader don't have a problem.
I just tried with a fresh version of RetroArch and it's working. Are you using the Vulkan drivers? If not, try with them.
Nota working Your shaders@@worldogameplays

I totally agree with you. Even ps1 games with composite cables look (a bit) sharp.
