Love how it just shifts from this super constricted sound, that matches the situation and when you see how beautiful the fish thing is it just opens up into a wider sound....amazing
On a concert last year (Zurich, oct 20) Dan said on stage, that "Can't do without you" is a direct message to the fans, without whom all this madness (tours, etc.) wouldn't happen. That with his first success he was unsure about what to think about beeing that much appreciated, that he couldn't take it and it made him insecure. But now he just has to say thank you for all this.
Therefore I just can understand this video (and the fish) as a allegory on this feelings.

I felt it was more about the self and relationships. we are alone, something comes along - there's questions, apprehension. then it catches our wild selves as we bask in its glory. over time, it drifts away, leaving us on our own just as we started. everything is the same as before as if it never happened. the only evidence is ourselves transformed.

Caribou seems to be the only artist who does deep house/ electronic music but gets a pretty big chunk of his fanbase from people who are more into indie music. Don't really know why but it's no bad thing
Not really.. Look at Crystal Castles or Vitalic or Chemical Brothers or Royksopp to name a few.
The Realest they're not deep house, vitalic and cc basically do what could easily be loud rock music but with electronics (i like them both especially cc) Chem bros are liked by everyone and royksopp are more euro-dance fanbase but varied
