Let's learn more about 1950's women's fashion! A lovely subscriber sent me this book and I thought it would be fun to take a look through it with my vintage neighbors and show you some examples from my closet. Hope you enjoy this deeper dive into 1950's women's fashion.

Growing up in the 1950's and 60's, I remember these styles worn by my mother, aunts and grandmother. This took me back to those days. Glad I saw your video. Love the clothes!

I honestly wish that a company would come out. (Store and online) And remake EVERYTHING from 1940’s to 50’s clothes, toys, appliance, and furniture. I mean EVERYTHING. They would be millionaires due and thanks to all us vintage loving people.

Very interesting book. I didn't know Fruit of the Loom made all these cool house dresses. Each outfit you modeled, including the nightgowns, looked almost to be made for you.

I just got a kitten Saturday, April 24th. A little buff colored Tom who I named Ruairi (Rory). It means red headed king in Irish. When I picked him out as a relative newborn, he didn’t have markings. He’s clearly a classic tabby which is that swirling bullseye design. I’m very pleased. We’re in an adjustment period now as I have two other cats and two dogs. My animals are adjusting except for my rescued female cat. She virtually hates him. She’ll adjust, but they will never be buddies.
She might adjust ... I have seen it happen ... vats are unpredictable! Congrats on your new baby kitty!

Love your program, especially the kitties. We are a multi cat family also. Have you ever come across a racoon coat? I still have my mother's from the 40's as well as a party dress from the 50's---rayon with big red roses. Gorgeous!
I would like you to do a video regarding how you do your makeup and the products you use. I have been having difficulty finding vintage dress patterns that are my size because my bust size is 38 and most vintage dress patterns are 32 or 34. I am going to try my hand at sewing vintage dresses myself. Enjoyed this fashion book readthrough and try-on, it gave me many ideas. Thank you.

I love your style. I used to incorporate 40's and 50's style with my clothing in the 80's. I still love a good twin set and a beaded cardigan.
Sucks because I have broad shoulders so none of the vintage fits me. 😕women were very small back then....

Just a thought, I don’t know if you sew or know of a seamstress, but you might be able to find 1950’s sewing patterns. eBay might be a good place to look. Love your channel! ❤️
I love this time period too! My parents were married in 1953. My mother made all of her clothes (and mine), even her 1960s maternity clothes. I wish I had a few of those pieces now. You have a beautiful collection and model them very well. Do you know about The Way We Wore? Check Doris Raymond out and her collection of vintage clothing. I really enjoyed this segment. Good memories

It would definitely be fun to go through the rest of the book! It is a great 1950's fashion book. I love 1950's dresses and hats! I love poodle skirts, too. I know that poodle skirts were all the rage for teenagers in the 1950's.

Bonwit Teller and Lord &Taylor and Saks Fifth Avenue. My mom always shopped in these classy, glorious stores and now they are gone. Shopping stores today are tacky, loud and dumpy these days.
OMG. I love your channel and being a 72 year old woman, you make me feel young again watching you. I remember all the 50’s clothing and wearing them as a kid. When I was in the 2nd grade, we had a spelling test for the days and months. I happened to be wearing a huge circle skirt with calendars all over the fabric. Needless to say I and my classmates were very interested in my skirt.😂. I love the feminine clothing from the era and wish it would come back. Of course I no longer process a waistline😂. Also, my mother always put tons of starch in my petty coats. I remember by the end of the day, they were pretty itchy. Diann
It's funny how fashions change. Corsets and narrow wasp waists went out of fashion around 1815, came in, then went out again in the 1870's then in the Victorian era they came back into style. Then in the 1920's during the age of the flappers, they went out of style again, at least the wasp waisted look went out. Then in the 1950's it came back in again. Fashion goes in cycles!
Years ago I worked at the salvatuion Army and purchased several vintage clothing , I attended college from 1986 till 1991, i couldnt wear any evcept one that was a red and white striped dress that looked like dirty dancing era, I was plus size and wore that dress at least once or twice a week in the summer ...thank you for keeping dressing like a lady still alive..plus size dresses are hard to find..

I've seen alot these dresses in my mom's post war photos in black and white. It is wonderful to see the vibrant colors. Mom described them but it was hard to visualize. Thank you. 🤗
