These days, people might say PUA is cringe, but honestly, I learned a lot from it. It gave me the confidence I needed to get to where I am today.

back in the mid 2000s I listened to hundreds of hours of audio books, seminars, group coaching and infield recordings from all the famous PUAs. It's all fluff but the important takeaway was/is confidence.

@@Nick.Brough For me, my main takeaway was realizing that interpersonal communication and connections is a skill that can be practiced and learned. As a nerdy kid who felt like he didn't learn a lot of this stuff during middle/high school, it was helpful to think of it as going out and practicing a skill, until I internalized it and didn't need it anymore. In the process, I met a lot a people, became friends with a number of them, got into a relationship with some of those, fell in love a few times, and now I'm happily married with a couple of kids. For me, personally, my confidence came as my skill developed, but I know a lot of people probably along the way thought I was incredibly weird. (Probably still do, because I probably am weird...)
That said, I can see now why people treat the pickup community as cringe Even at the time, I think a part of me realized that the guys who stayed around in it, rather than using it as a stepping stone, were broken and what I thought was just some edginess was hiding some pretty bad behavior.

@ those who truly mastered this “art” were able to get phone numbers & hook up with partners for one night. What they realised after doing this for months or even years is it’s a vacuous existence which leads to nothing of substance. It is a start though & leads to temporary results which may be enough for some.

I've always been a stealth seducer. Where I'd mess up with women before I adjusted myself thanks to some of these techniques was coming off as needy. Never do that with a woman you're interested in.

I find pickup artist’s personalities and demeanor off putting generally but I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t immediately take note and interest in a man w a silly hat tbh

Yes! I agree. I kinda dislike the cockyness and slimeyness 😀 I have met a lot of people who just are friendly and totally use mellowed out PUA manerisms without even knowing it 😀 They get girls without effort

Solid Video on this topic, ppl like to dunk on PUA but I liked your admission that it helped you personally, i´d been thinking about actually reading a PUA book since I always thought that some of the insights about men-women relations are very true, after hearing your honest experience with it i´ll give it a try now.

The clip was an introduction into the overall perseption about PUA. To set the mood for video to come and fight the mainstream understanding.

Interesting Being on the autism spectrum fine it hard to get a conversation started. But every time i was out with my brother mates. They wonder where i was and i would be seating at the table with all the ladies having a good time just talking. But that far as I seem to get.

Didn't watch the video, but want to share the theory of pickup artism being a path for autist men to understand women, learn ways methods of communication and get rid of social anxiety. Not the best, but the autists have it hard.
