The first time I ever saw an F-15 in person was at an air show at a Nellis AFB in 1976. The thing was in burner at takeoff and immediately stood on its tail for what seemed like forever. I was 13 then and have loved that jet ever since.

I served in the USAF and was in an F-15 squadron. I was a weapons specialist. I loved seeing them do an FCF and do a vertical climb. Most impressive at night. My TI in basic training told us that those who would be on the flight line would get a tingle going up your spine seeing such impressive power. He was right. He said you'd have pride in your country. He was so right.❤ The USAF!

To answer the afterburner question, yes the F100 engine has a five stage afterburner. That does not include the V-MAX switch that dumped an uncontrolled amount of fuel into the afterburner. V-MAX was for emergency situations. However LtCol Bergman always seemed to have broken the copper safety wire securing the V-MAX switch. Perplexing.

I got my ride in an F15D (two seater) in 1997 over Singapore! USAF, Navy and Singapore AF were all training together! I’ve flown many small airplanes, but the F15 was indescribable! Cool doesn’t come close! I missed my calling!

A demo pilot did this at RIAT in 2006, incredibly impressive. RAF Typhoon pilots do it frequently from their bases in the UK. They request a “performance takeoff” from the tower, that’s when we know they are going vertical. Great to see whether from a Typhoon or an F15.

In the early 1980's with a pass you could drive right up and park beside the runway at Robins AFB, Georgia and watch the F-15s do vertical takeoffs. I told my friend Bob that I wanted to go look at the planes in a four or five bay hangar that had "Eagle Country" signage over it. There was a guard with an M-16 that had stepped around the corner with a corded phone with his back to me. When he glanced around talking and saw me about 15 yards away walking toward the bays he dropped the phone on the ground and went ballistic, lol. Rumor had it the guards at the adjacent SAC base were authorized to shoot if necessary. I still remember the awesome end window at the base library where the B-52s would be coming seemingly directly at you as they did bump and gos.

During my two tours at RAF Finningley in the '70's I watched in the first, the English Electric Lightning run in and then climb vertically - it was INCREDIBLE, AWESOME!!!
Then, a few years later, during my second tour, along came the F-15 doing the same thing.
I watched from the tower as it ran in and......NEVER in my life have I been as speechless as THAT moment! My jaw dropped to somewhere below my knees!!! 😵‍💫😮😮😮
After 2-3 minutes, I managed, "WOW! How the f*** did it do THAT???!!!"
Let's just say it made the Lightning (An aircraft I LOVED seeing!) look like a DHC-1 Chipmunk!!!

My ex husband (still very good friends) flew F15c during our whole marriage. I have always found the eagle a truly sexy tactical jet, the f22 Is sexier but the 15c is a close second. It was always neat when the hubs would bring home video of flights. It was also really cool when they would do acm out over the gulf those hud videos was really cool to get to see and listening to the audio from the aggressors and blue team. I always found it very intriguing to get to see what they do and i always wanted to get to take a demo flight but sadly never got to. Hopefully one day I'll get the opportunity to take a demo flight with the thunderbirds or the blues, I doubt it will ever happen but I really hope it does! my job puts me in a position to where I MAY have a chance of being selected for a demo flight so I can only hope! I have flown in high performance mono wing areobatic planes a lot, I have a tick over 50 hours of time in a extra 330lx and know what it feels like to pull 9-10g and 4-5 negative G but those G loads are for very short amounts of time, the extra won't sustain much more than 5g and that's absolutely plenty for me when my instructor is flying the plane 4-5g sustained is very uncomfortable, I do much better when my hands on the stick I can take the g better. I really want to feel what it feels like to pull 8-9g and sustain it, in the extra pulling 9g the onset rate is nearly instant like 1-9g in 2 tenths of a second and that hurts a lot to get hammered with G like that but your never sustaining g much above 3-4. I have no doubt them holding me at 6-7g for 4-5 seconds is going to black me out but i really want to see if I can handle a 9g pull for a couple seconds with out LOCing. In the mono planes my instructor has blacked me out a couple times when taking me from -3 or to a quick +4 sustained. I really have no idea what I could sustain in a jet, in the mono planes I have a fair bit of tolerance to handle 4-5 sustained for say 5 seconds or so with minimal graying/tunneling so long as it's my hand on the stick and not the instructors, my self along with most others I would assume handle G much better when they are the one pulling because we can control when the G is on and off and when the graying starts you let up a little on stick pressure and it just makes it easier to deal with. My instructor has blocked me out a couple times just maintaining that 4-5g the plane will sustain for say 5 seconds or so but he's also hitting me with lots of fast onset G in the 7-10 range while doing training so you are getting hit with a lot of quick onset to quick offset g and then bam getting taken to sustained g and it just destroys your brain.. so I know my G tolerance in the jets would be higher than in the mono planes because I will be in a G suit and because of forced Oxygen so I may handle a 8-9g sustained pull better than I think I would.. if I could handle 9g for 5-6 seconds without locing I would be so freaking proud of my self! My ex hubs has been up with me in the 330LX and he said I do a good job with my breathing and dealing with the super fast high G onset rates that are much faster than jets onset rates but he also said that the those quick pulls to 7-9g and back to 1-3g within a half second to maybe 1 second don't effect your body nothing like how jets effect your body. I truly want to know if I can sustain 8-9g for any length of time without blacking out. I really freaking want to know!!! I have a flight coming up in June in a L39 that a friend owns and he's coming down to sun n fun so I'm getting a jet flight. I know it's going to he nothing like a real high performance jet that can sustain the g endlessly but he said that it will give me a feel of what a high performance tactical jet feels like and how differently pulling sustained g is rather than pulling lots of G very quickly and for very short amounts of time.

Some of the data stated on the Video is not Accurate. The Climb Rate & Performance will vary Depending The engine Specific Models A /C -
E / Ex( minus CFTs) each one Is a different airplane. Performance will vary *Especially with F-15EX Eagle 2 With no CFT attached to Fuselage for Fuel 29,500lbs Engines (that’s almost like 10k of Thrust added to a C Model)

@@lastmanstanding9389 Rubbish? REALLY? I was a jet engine mechanic in the US Air Force for 22+ years, I worked F-111A, Ef-111A, A-10, F-16C, in-shop and flightline maintenance, I worked for GE military jet engines in Cincinnati for a few years also. I can assure you; I am correct, it is NOT all or nothing when in afterburner or augmenter as some manufacturers call it. I have experience on both Pratt & Whitney and GE jet engines. As you initiate afterburner, you inject raw fuel into the exhaust stream of the engine through a fuel manifold, as you increase the amount of afterburner requested, you increase the amount of fuel delivered, by additional fuel manifolds injecting additional fuel, each manifold is commonly called a "Stage" of afterburner. Each "Stage" increases the thrust produced by the engine, so it is NOT all or nothing.
